Reuters interested in GT5 delay:)
Gt5 has become World News

As far as i was aware, GT5 was always world news. 👍 Nevermind...

This is a perfect example of how PD marketing is working well, the name Gran Turismo couldn't be any louder at the moment, building up both bad and good hype is good for PD as long as they have some good news to follow it up.

Well, if it's a simultaneous worldwide release, fine. I'm just afraid that the PAL release will also get delayed accordingly. :scared:

I have faith GT5 will be released before Fall 2010. While Video game sales are known to be slow in the summer MGS4 was released last summer and it sold quite well. GT also has a larger mainstream appeal and has much much longer legs. If Sony delays GT5 until the 2010 holiday season... I am going to be pissed.

Maybe it's just me but is anyone else not getting worried by this huge development time? Rest assured longer developer times does not mean a better game, FFXIII showed that. The "due to development issues" reason is really bugging me, something of note must have happened.

That or Sony will will make this their holiday 2010 release...........I just don't understand anymore. :(

*Looks at thread title*

Sssssooooooo...... What else is new guys??

More of the same... guess MW2 is going to have extended playtime now... Prestige here I come... :)

citing production-related matters, in a potential blow to its videogame operations REUTERS

What could it be? is there something big problem?

Meh. :indiff:

All it just means is more time for us to save for a nice PS3+GT5+DFGT/G27 combo when it does come out.

*goes back to play GT4* 👍

+1 exactly what I was thinking too when I posted my comment just now... :)

What else is new is what I ask?

Growing thin on patience here.

Has anyone chuckled to themselves quietly at this news? I can't think of any other game release with such scarce and confused information. That's not a dig at PD it's just I can't help but laugh at the way information is released and has to be translated with so many conflicting translations.

Carry On Gran Turismo-ing.

The melodramatics around here never cease to amaze me! For a start, this announcement only affects Japan, the delay has been confirmed as just one month, and all of a sudden the recent influx of stuff like the cover seem to have been all but forgotten. We have the motor shows coming up, and for all you know we could end up with final launch details very soon.

One month is not really much time to add a significant amount of stuff to a project that has been going on for the best part of 6 years, and nor is it likely due to major technical issues. There is every chance this is purely a marketing and financial move to get the game away from other big releases, and put it into the next financial year. For a game this big, they will be well into heavy-duty QA and final tweaking.

As for EU and US...it is what it is. We either get a simultaneous global release, or as ever, US get the game a bit later, and EU get it much further down the line. For me, as long as it is before Christmas this year, I really don't mind, and sleep easy as a result.

Reckless optimism is what never ceases to amaze me.

How could a delay announcement affect NA and Europe which has no release date?

I see no official word that it's a 1 month delay anywhere yet.

There is equally "every chance" that it's technical reasons. I smell scope creed, PD fighting to manage what they've bit off.

Everyone's saying "oh it's because marketing changed their mind and they want to do a worldwide release" is equally unsubstantiated so there's no point arguing about it.

That's what I was saying earlier! ;)

well, it is kinda funny though...everyone though: "well it HAS to happen this holiday season..right?" Than it turned out that it would launch March 2010: "it's just a delay...all GT games have this, but March has got to be it!"

I'm really not to bothered about it, I mean PD missed the anticipated release window by, ooh I don't know, 2 years :). It isn't as if it is somehow delayed...it was always delayed this doesn't really matter because some bought their ps3's 3 years ago for GT...I think it's safe to say that the worst of the delays has come and gone :)

So don't worry about this, I'm sure that at the end of the day GT5 will be awesome!

Reuters is reporting Sony has delayed the release of Gran Turismo 5 to an unspecified date, which the company plans to update in the future.:banghead:

When was the date ever specified?
Sony plans to update in the future?

Back to the future fellows. We ain't getting anything in the present.

:gtpflag:

maybe they need to stop the parties and interviews and just finish the game?

Agreed instead of teasing us with all these trailers and demo's at trade shows. Get it released. Another trade show another release date change, sounds like 2009 all over again.

I'm pretty sure it's a good thing that there's so much confusion about GT5 launch. Good thing for XBox and Forza sales, that is :)

Plus I just love the hordes of fanboys who fight back every criticism towards PD and claim "Oh this new delay is fairly OK but OMG how pissed I will be if it shows up no sooner that 2010 holiday season!" You're pissed already, and it's not you who's pissing on you.

GT5 will be surely the best racing game! But common, 3 1/2 years after the PS3 release there is still no full GT game... that´s a bit crazy...

Wow I wasn't expecting that. I wonder if Kaz is to be believed about GT5 being ready to release at any time and this is just a marketing thing or if GT5 isn't ready at all.

Anyway, this most likely means we will have it by cristmas. I think Jordan's document had a typo. It was meant to say cristmas 2010

SOny teasing us not PD. They promote to ps3 with GT5. its good thing for sony not good for GTfans

Who didn't see this coming?
Exactly. I honestly dont see GT5 coming out until maybe christmas 2010. 6 years in development and still going. For those of you that have not tried Forza 3, you really should check it out. Because you still have a long wait ahead of you if you keep waiting for GT5.

Don't even mention it! You know what will become of this thread.

Yeah true. Just trying to help ease the pain of waiting for GT5. I really do feel bad for the people waiting. :guilty:

Someone wake me up when this is on the store shelf. IF it's ever on the store shelf, I'm going back to playing games that are actually available to me.
