Alright, look...

Gran Turismo is the greatest game ever created by the hand of any man, it smites everything it looks at, it has the best of everything.

There, now get back on topic.

I beginning to think they want to match the number 5 (asian people are keen to this kind of thing...) - GT5 launched together with PS5 on May 5th, 2055...

Just a few Questions .................

Have we ever been told the NA / EU release date for GT5 ?...............No
Is this current delay affecting the date we have been told ?..............No (see question 1)
Has the recent delay in Japan changed anything relating to NA / EU ?.No (see question 1/2)

Until we get a date it has'nt been delayed so why get stressed out .....chill guys . The people I do feel for are the Japanese because they've been given a date .

Official English version of the delaying announcement:
"Gran Turismo 5" Release Delayed

Last Updated : Jan 13, 2010

The release of the PlayStation®3 software, "Gran Turismo 5" has been delayed from the previously announced March 2010 period due to production reasons.

Our sincerest apologies goes out to all those who are eagerly awaiting the release of this title.

Once the new release date has been confirmed, we will be making another announcement.

We thank you for your understanding.

Bad news. Means it's not a marketing thing after all. Means we will probably be getting it at cristmas after all. Kaz really has a big mouth.

...And the people who wanted to import said copy.

It depends what they mean by "production reasons". Is that the physical production of the disc, or the production of the game content itself? If it is the disc then the delay will be short. If it's the content then stick a pin in the calendar any date after June for your release date.

I think the game is in it's final stages, as the amount of promotion and showings that it is getting is indicative of a marketing campaign leading upto a release. Whether it is still a work in progress or actually printed is argueable. If indeed the March '10 date ever had any truth to it, one would have expected production of the discs to have begun very soon to allow time for their printing and distribution.

I do think for such a big company and a product of such huge importance, this neverending uncertainty about it's release date is a ridiculous way to do business in the 21st century.

Yeesh... Maybe they delayed it because people won't stop complaining about engine sound quality and Porsche etc. Maybe you people who were complaining just got your wish. And now you're complaining here about a delayed release.

Good job 👍

Exactly. I honestly dont see GT5 coming out until maybe christmas 2010. 6 years in development and still going. For those of you that have not tried Forza 3, you really should check it out. Because you still have a long wait ahead of you if you keep waiting for GT5.

or get a life ?

The Porsche thing is getting annoying

And the engine sound complainers...

Who knows what's up here. I say that they give us a Prologue update to tide us over. Maybe another demo. Something.

That is what I was thinking too. PD needs to give us dogs a fricking bone here!

I agree but I still much prefer waiting than getting an unfinished product. If the reason for the delay is that the game won't be finished by march then props to PD for having the courage to delay the game in order to finish it. Something nearly all developers don't have the guts to do. And I wish they did.

Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising anyone .......................................................................................Silence

Is that what we really need, yet another demo? FFS! That'll just be something else to bitch and moan about because it doesn't have this and it doesn't do that.

Keep an eye on your spelling and the use of the word "Japanese" Both are frowned upon by the moderation staff.

Most people expect the EU/US release to be after the Japanese release. So if the Japanese version is delayed there's a strong possibility that the EU/US versions will also be put back.

The game is done. Whatever the delay is about it has nothing to do with software. Do you seriously think they be working on it two months before its supposed release in Japan.

Unless the delay pushes the release of GT5 to the end of the year we ain't going to get anything different from what there is already in the game.(even if we don't know what exactly is in it to begin with)

game is not complete.. look at cuz of delay..It says productions issue..Theres something wrogn about it..Kazu said MARch release for Japan..Today it delayed.Somethiing has happened

Production issues can be related to the manufacturing and printing of the disk themselves. Not that the game kills the PS3 after 1 hour of play or whatever.

I really find the persistant comparisons with Forza 3 rather boring and pointless now. Yes, we know you are excited for the game, as most of us are, but hating on Forza 3 just because it is by Microsoft on the 360...

I have no problem with Microsoft, Turn 10 or anybody else for that matter. I went out and purchased a 360 just for FM3 (and picked up GTA: Episodes since i cant play that on PS3 either). Since i am one of the few on these boards who does own FM3 i feel i have a right to compare if i wish despite whether you find it boring and pointless. If you don't like my comparison, scroll on past it. Its not that hard, infact i do it all the time when i see your constant bitching about other people bitching.

I do not hate the game but since it is the only game you can compare to GT5 it needs to be put into perspective. GT5 is an entirely new game based on a brand new engine built with the future in mind. For me (and anybody else who have worked in the industry will tell you) these reasons alone warrant the long dev time.

Exactly, it say production issue. Not development issue. It sounds more like a logistics issue than anything else.

Yes this does suck the big one but like a few have stated this could be the prep for a worldwide release so details that may be unknown about the game are kept a until you pop the game into your console *crosses fingers* (wishfull thinking of course).

I'm glad I have LFS, rFactor, GTR EVO and Forza to hold me off. :)

Those will most likely collect dust when GT5 is eventually released.

Anyway... I think we all know what was (and still is) the mayor problem of GT5 long wait/development.

It's called: GTPSP

Dam you SCEE marking! Dam PSPGo!!

Ok, I think it's enough :P

Whatever has happened to delay the game again I'm sure there is a good reason for it. Making sure that everything is in order with GT5 is what we all want so waiting a few more months will not hurt. We have at least Spa to look forward to for the next part of the TT Demo to keep us busy, even if that is just for a short time.

i dont think printing disc issue. Why GT5 has problem with it?
This is the BEST selling title on PS.?If its true it would be pathetic.
Game is perfect but printing disc is broken.

It could be the infamous extra 2 discs that were getting

When you think of a movie being in production, do you think of them pressing the DVD/BD, or of them working to finish the actual movie? How about when a movie production is shut down or delayed, does that mean a finished movie is scrapped or delayed during the DVD/BD pressing phase?

Of course not. The same goes for the videogame industry.

Hate to be stuck with you in a besieged town.
