The way you act is like all the sounds in GT suck its really not the case some suck some are good some sound excellent. Keep your head up man you never know, however if you are expecting 1000 cars to sound like they do in real life you will be disappointed.

i don't think anyone can expect all 1000 cars to have accurate sounds.. but i think it's fair for them to expect a v12 engine to at least sound like one.

Seems like expecting 100 cars to sound good will lead to disappointment. I think we can all forget about standard cars sounding any better than what G4 gave us. No we just have to wish that all the premium cars at least sound authentic.

Some cars in GT4 aren't bad. The Falcon V8 Supercar being one of them.

All we can do right now is speculate really. Until we fire up the game and take our first drive, everything on the internet doesn't mean a damn thing.

The fact that they're still using really poor dubbing in trailers concerns me.

If the game sound was good enough, they wouldn't have to dub it

IF it is dubbed then that must mean an admission by themselves of substard work.

I'd love to think them sounds are ingame. History tells me to take it with a pinch of salt.

I will be fine with 220 premium car having an accurate engine sound!I don't care about the 800 standard cars, for me GT5 will have "only" 220 cars!the story of 800 standard cars is just a big bluff for me:tdown:

They've always done it. It might be a "production" or marketing thing; getting people who are production experts but don't know enough about the sounds of motorsport machinery can lead them to think that it all sounds the same, such that they think that what they hear is what we hear. You see (and hear) it on TV and at the movies far too often for my liking.

Ignorance of one's own incompetence is very common :P

Either that, or they really are trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Perhaps the rules around sound in advertisements is not the same as those around the visual elements. Adverts are always badly dubbed...

Yes sir. 👍

Remember commerciasl of GT4 having great sound? When we drive those same cars in the game, they sound like vacuum cleaners!

The physics of GT5 apply to all cars wajdi, but I guess you don't really care about driving, however even with your thinking i'm sure you still will have a blast with the premium cars. 👍

I think he just wants the cockpit King. No crime in that.

I bet I want it more than him though Spagetti, I love cockpit view! Thats the view I race with period doesnt matter if i'm fooling around or if i'm racing my biggest rival online. Many people say they love cockpit view, but will not compete with it. It makes me laugh when I see comments like that. Its like when a child tells his parents if I cant get those football cleats I wont play football, even though the child loves football. Am I going to let a view take away from 800 great cars I can drive with I don't think so. Its cool for him not to like the standard cars, but all i'm saying is I thought the main focus of GT was the physics, and after playing the GT5 demo thats clearly the case. Even Kaz said he was most impressed with the physics aspect of GT5. I drove chase cam in the GT5 demo and it did not bother me 1 bit, because the way the car drove had all my attention.

I can agree with you king.

The recent Dutch report seemed to recommend the headtracking. Something I was sceptical about.
Apparently it has a proper analog interface and can look both up and down to varying degrees.

I happen to own an eye camera due to singstar ( don't laugh I'm welsh ).
Being a cockpit guy myself if the above is true I won't be touching the standards with a barge pole. ( it was also said standards will not have headtracking ).
Which will be a shame. There will be lots of cars of the standard variety I would love to drive. Probably my favourite rides will be standards. But after driving cockpit with full headtracking I think they will feel lame.

Standards versus premium = victims of there own success.

The cockpit bit of the trailer sounded like the Motul GT-R sound we've heard with extra transmission whine.

If you watch any real Motul incar clips, the transmission whine sounds different, and not as loud

^ Yeah but it also speeds up as the car is still slowing down

Maybe it's just an example of the sound and not matched :)
The FT-86 trailer was like that too, but it had the actual sound from the game in it, even though it wasn't matched

This dubbing. Isn't it more hassle to dub it rather than just use the games sounds.

Just seems a bit silly to me.

Sony doesn't want to use actual in-game sounds, it's obvious. They're not the only ones who do it of course.

Thanks for the vid col. I can't make much out of it sound wise sorry. I am using an iPhone though.

I think he meant the transmission whine sounds better, and it does :)
And there are skidmarks in this build. So it's like TGS + Gamescom build in one :P
