0:42 is even better!!!

You guys sure this is 458 ? That's totally different engine sound than the previous build. BTW I hope I'll be able to hear this wind sound(Intake?) with the car's engine sound .. makes a good rev limit sound just like this one in the video. OMG!!!

Nah, that's the Motul GT-R.

It's a Motul Nissan GT-R GT500

That engine sound has been around for a while now, since early 2009 if I recall. I would suspect it's still an old sound engine build.

Lacks transmission whine and other stuff you expect

After hearing it I agree it's the same sound (it's the same car after all) but there do are some subtle differences I can hear in the recent ones posted in the previous pages that make it more lifelike, unless you can find a clearer video from months ago showing the opposite.

So maybe they let some of the new sounds slip in, like the motul gt-r and is-f, while others were certainly placeholders, like how the 458 has 430's sound and so on...
Anyways, I'm getting more and more excited by the latest news and I hope for a trailer with no music, just with a nice variety of pure engine sounds mmmm oh yeah!:D

The sounds have evolved from GT4, i just hope we get more ambient sounds added debris dirt hitting undercarriage, transmission sounds, body creak\rattle.

And to change that rev limiter, its really stress inducing

Motul GT-R again

I never lost faith. I had the feeling that all these demos must have really old sound engine builds in them. I knew something was up when there are Prologue sounds in there, while the Time Trial 370z and ISF sound so different to them

I tottaly with you on that for me the thing that gave away they were not finished sounds was the Lambo at the best buy build it deffinatly did not have a lambo sound track as it was deep more like a lazy v8 than a v10

^ Your hearing the idle from the Motul GT-R :)

Wait till the final game to hear the new sounds guys as mentioned before. Demos don't have the final sound, in most cars

Are we going to get some nice blow off valves and turbo sounds/effects that vary from car to car in GT5? Not much has been said about this, or heard in any of the demos.....
Definitely is needed to add that extra enjoyment back into turbo cars!

NFS Shift has some nice turbo whistle and Blow off valve sounds, that vary from car to car, once you mod the PC version to make them more audible.
And they seem to act realisticly as well.

I made this cap of my modded game, a Supra, and you can hear the characteristic pizzle, plus some whistling that varies with load

I'm much more anxious to hear the WRC\Rally cars up close and personal, so much character and complexity.

ACtually im anxious to hear their "improved sounds".

I played a gt5 demo the last week(3D Sony event here on Rome)and I guarantee you that the WRC cars have a sensational engine sounds:) and SADLY I can't say the same thing about the others cars, the Ferrari 458 sounds like the 430 !but I think that PD just used gt5p engine sounds for those promotional demos so I'm not so worried about this.

I hope you are right....

hopefully also polyphony coul achieve 16 cars + 60 fps + weather + damage at the same time with little slowdowns (if they do than they got one of the best engines on PS3, they are really using the CELL processor)

I'm not sure that Zonda sound is accurate to how the demo actually sounds. It's very distorted. It could be just as clinical as everything else, without the distortion.

The Jury is still out, I reckon.

okay, i just played the demo at my local best buy (woodbridge, va) and i must say, the engine sounds are disappointing.. the corvette STILL sounds like a prius! (i didnt sound check all the cars because i was there to buy a 3dtv, not play gt5 all day, i wish i did lol) also the crashing sounds dont sound crazy or anything.. i mean i hit the wall at around 70mph and all i hear is.. boom. not BOOOOOM! or BOOM! or KABAANNGG!!! but just plain and simple boom. also the tire screech isnt great either, it sounds like shoe squeaks to me, not tires.. hopefully this is all fixed in the final version! fun demo nontheless
