Happy they delayed it, it gives it more time to be better overall. Though I'd like it now, at least I know when to expect it now.

There were none, just as there were none for previous games. Camaroboy has been told this before, yet he ignores it & continues to spout such nonsense that all games follow a time table (despite the fact that Rockstar is one of the most unique developers at creating hype whilst showing nothing) typically followed by a, "I told you so!" post.

 You, sir, are just a very bitter person. And you're from Texas. I should start calling you Yosemite Sam or something. I would call you curmudgeon if I thought you would know what that word means. And the mods complain that some of my posts can be borderline abusive. Geez.

Everyone, don't take what McLaren says with any amount of seriousness.

All I will say is how ironic your last sentence is, given the gems you've posted in the past.

Just to be nice, I'll ignore the obvious jest at my location. I've seen better & worse attempts at it.

Hey, McLaren, it's a forum. No one should really take anything mentioned or said by anyone here with a grain of salt. Really, they should all do their own research and come to their own conclusions. But, still. I was not aware we had a celebrity in our midst. And while there was a partial jest at Texas...I was more jesting at your attitude....or lack of one.

Anyway, time to get back on topic. I can see the mods hovering over the carcass.

Way to back peddle there, guy. 👍

I'll go ahead & not take the name-calling, the jesting, or the attempt to call me stupid serious then, as you advise.

Oh wait, I never did. :dunce:

Did you ever consider for just a second that McLaren might actually have been right? Just a thought 💡

You know what? I'm happy just to finally have a release date. And no, it's not set in stone. A release date is never final until the game goes Gold and it's out of the developer's hands. But, at least we can start countin' the days.

True. I'm a little disappointed, but I still have games to play and things to do. So I can wait, besides, I still play GTA3-GTA LCS/VCS and EFLC and will still play them after I'm finished GTAV.

 at the meltdown over the delay at gtaforums. Kind of reminds me of the GT5 section here every time Kaz said 'soon' in 2009-2010

Disappointing, but I'm completely fine with it. Gives Rockstar time to make the overall end product that much better. 👍

It doesn't matter if you're right if you say it in a douchebag way. 'Cause, you know what, you're still wrong then. If you're a jerk about it, no one is going to listen to you. And some people don't understand that.

There's a difference between saying "Actually, dude, these are the facts." And saying, "No, you're an &%^$%# idiot. This is what's right, moron. Everyone but you knows that."

One way, is a polite, normal conversation way. The other is just being a bully. And what's great about the internet, is you can always put bullies on ignore. Like McLaren is for me. 'Cause McLaren is a bully. And I will refrain from the Texas jokes from now on because it's no necessary. In fact, there are a lot of Texans I like, like the guys at Rooster Teeth.

Anyway, as for GTAV, I actually plan on pre-ordering it now that we have a release date. It will be a fun and awesome and massive game. That is for sure.

Better get a delayed then a buggy game, also I have alot of games that I have not played yet. :)👍

Oh noes, someone announced they put me on ignore. It's so cute when people have to make that known to the other person as a way of getting the last word in so they can't read the reply.

And again, the irony of your words when you insulted me in the same post beforehand.

But hey, I'm glad you can't read my posts anymore. Saves me the trouble of ever having to read your replies to them. And the correct term is an a-hole, not bully. I'm not in your age bracket. ;)

Being delayed closer to the new console launch?

Wonder if they plan to do a port or PC spec version as a launch title for the next xbox. Would be a good sales driver.

I think the new MS and Sony consoles may come out 2014 though.

I highly doubt that it will be for next-gen consoles. Sam Houser said "..there's plenty of power left in these machines." in a Eurogamer article.

As for a PC version, I don't think it will happen because of all the GTA IV pirates. I can see where they're coming from though, why make a great game and make little money off of it whilst it's being spread through PirateBay like a wild-fire?

I disagree, I think it should, and will. Every game gets pirated, and GTA IV still sells well on Steam...

Rockstar even acknowledges that GTA games on PC get hacked and they think it's quite cool, pointing out cool and different mods on their website once in a while. I don't think a PC version would be out simply because of modders.

This is the press relase:
Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), is proud to announce that Grand Theft Auto V is expected to launch worldwide for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on September 17, 2013.

Los Santos: a sprawling sun-soaked metropolis full of self-help gurus, starlets and fading celebrities, once the envy of the Western world, now struggling to stay afloat in an era of economic uncertainty and cheap reality TV. Amidst the turmoil, three very different criminals plot their own chances of survival and success: Franklin, a former street gangster, now looking for real opportunities and serious money; Michael, a professional ex-con whose retirement is a lot less rosy than he hoped it would be; and Trevor, a violent maniac driven by the chance of a cheap high and the next big score. Running out of options, the crew risks everything in a series of daring and dangerous heists that could set them up for life.

"Grand Theft Auto V continues to push the series forward in new ways; Rockstar North are creating our deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. "We are very excited for people to learn more about the game in the coming months."

The September release date moves the launch back from its original projected release window of spring 2013 in order to allow additional development time. The biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world Rockstar Games has yet created, Grand Theft Auto V blends storytelling and gameplay in new ways as players repeatedly jump in and out of the lives of the game's three lead characters, playing all sides of the game's interwoven story.

All the classic hallmarks of the groundbreaking series return, including incredible attention to detail and Grand Theft Auto's darkly humorous take on modern culture, alongside a brand new and ambitious approach to open world multiplayer.

Even though I am a little mad that it's coming out in September, atleast I know when GTA V releases.

Can't wait till I am able to drive the Comet GT2 around LS with Chop as my sidekick. 👍

What PC release now days doesn't have mods?

Mods are the future. I mean, wasn't Left4Dead originally a Half-Life Mod that Valve turned into a video game? Heck, Valve has even expressed interest in bringing some of the mods to the consoles. And, if this new generation of consoles uses a more computer-esque OS, then they might just get their wish.

He's mad I liked bowling in GTA IV!

If the story of selling all his Xbox games to buy a new Xbox is true then what a fool :p.
