Exactly what I mean!
Also, it could be cool if the police would be able to chase you for speeding, illegal overtaking etc... Highly unlikely, as the chance for Rockstar adding indicators.
Yes. Maybe you'll have to do them when you go for 100% on a save file, but you should be able to ignore them and other tasks you don't want to do.
I've been thinking about this. Maybe only certain characters will do certain types of side missions. For example, you have to use Trevor to do the truck missions but he is deemed too psychotic for the police missions by the Los santos police department.
Also, say Franklin can do police missions as he has a friend on the police force. Obviously this is pure speculation, but it would help mix up the free roaming by forcing you to use all characters rather than sticking to your favourite. It would also help make the very idea of a criminal doing freelance work for the police slightly more plausible. Although it's still highly unrealistic.
I seen a pics of where a guy was analyzing the trailers. He pointed out some tow trucks, he said he seen the older models, like the ones in San Andreas and more modern ones.
You guys may have already seen this already.
EDIT: http://www.gtagaming.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2220274 -- First trailer breakdown
http://www.lukeyy19.co.uk/trailer2breakdown/page1/
I've seen some done like that but not that particular one. I agree, great find.
EDIT:
On page 3, several IV era cars are shown in the trailer, specifically one of the mini-vans, so I think we will be getting some of those cars back. The Bullet GT was also shown. Might not have III era vehicles but at least some IV vehicles are confirmed to be returning, a first for a GTA game.
Well, didn't IV take place in '08? The same year it came out? Is V supposed to take place around this time? So, wouldn't it make since to have those same cars, updated and such?
I agree with you but I don't think they will be doing it. As they said, another universe...

Can you provide evidence?Ah, I see. I thought you had meant IV and V was two different universes. I knew about the 3D and HD universes though. Shame though, because in the trailers, it even looked like some older model vehicles from San Andreas was in there.
Re-created?They may still be... just in 3D (or HD?).
What I like about GTA is that the time period/atmosphere your in reflect the current events of that era. With GTA San Andreas, it was the early '90s with the gangs and riots in L.A. I believe GTA IV took place soon after the twin towers (9/11) incident (2002-3ish?) so you had the talk and paranoia of terrorism, bridges being blocked off, conspiracies of the government, etc. GTA V, I think, will be taking place right after the U.S. economy started to plummet. (2008-9?) So things like the recession and its effects will surround GTA V's atmosphere. One possible example was the guy nailing a "For Sale" sign in the ground in the first trailer. So expect things from that era. 👍
Can you provide evidence?
We catch back up with Trevor as he is climbing on to the top of a moving train, behind him we can see two tow trucks, the more modern one we saw in San Andreas, and also the older style seen in The Lost and The Damned, hopefully these will be usable by the player like they were in San Andreas, and maybe more, such as towing caravans like the one seen in the top right or the one in the river earlier in the trailer.
I agree, I think it would better suit the game in a range of years but Rockstar stated quite clearly that it would take place in the present day. Giving that every other GTA has a specific year it takes place, 2013 would make sense for GTA V.As, for my previous post, yes, recreated.
As for V taking place in 2013; I must admit, it would make sense, but I don't know if Rockstar's that fast… I rekon 2010-2013 is what they're "aiming" at.
My bad, you're right. 👍
I still believe that things like the recession will find its way into GTA V.
I can "attempt" to provide evidence.

The third picture where Trevor is on top of the train. The tow truck that's between his legs looks like an older model, could be something from as far back as a '92 tow truck. The one that's right where his left hand is at, looks like a newer model. Newer than the other tow truck, I should say.
Just me guessing at things.
Well, here's the quote:
Well like I said at least that and the Bullet GT and a few others confirm the return of some GTA IV vehicles. Awesome.
I wonder if you'll be able to go to a chopshop like you could in San Andreas..
Upgrades in general need to return. 👍
Oh, how I miss driving black taxis with nitrous and dollar-sign wheels.![]()
