Congrats on the decade and here's to many more, Jordan!

I am a little disappointed that under the 2004-2005 section there is no mention of TB joining the forums, though. :p

Congratulations. 👍

Congrats on ten years of GTPlanet.net Jordan! :D Let's have ten more.

:gtpflag: Much love, I'll make sure to toast one (or two!) to you when I get off work tonight! :gtpflag:

Thanks for putting up the site, and thanks for running it so diligently. I hope I don't wear out my welcome. Keep up the good work!

Didn't even realize GTP's birthday was a day before mine. Congrats on making and I plan on being around here for a long time :D:👍.

I can hardly believe this place is ten years old. I can also hardly believe I joined here in 2003. I remember the exact reason I came across this place: I wanted the GT3 prize car list. I started lurking the forums, but not the Gran Turismo part, as when I hit GTPlanet I had nearly finished GT3 and only wanted to know how could I get the cars I was missing. I started lurking the cars in general section, the rumble strip and all the other sections. The Photoshop comps sealed the deal and made me register.

As Omnis said, I have a lot to thank GTP for. I started doing photoshopped cars in here in the weekly competitions, which is what I mainly do now for a living. The flame was lit here. also, I learned a lot about cars reading the forums, and I also remember the ricer craze was in full swing when I hit this place. It was hella fun to see all the bashing. I also made good friends, some of which I still keep contact with, mainly Rue and Glacius, who have been long-running friends from back in the day.

And then, I can barely believe I left. And for some good years. I don't even remember why, really. And I can't remember why I came back either about two years ago or so. But I do remember what made me stay at this place again: the DYSAGT thread. I had been playing street spotting for years and when I saw it it was like "heck, cool, I'm on it", tried to see if my old log in still worked and BAM. Here I am again, and more active than I ever was.

The community in here is awesome. And altough many of the old members aren't around anymore, the members that are with us today are still awesome. Heck, who knows, maybe somone will return like I did. But I ain't leaving here, it's the only car forum I really frequent because it's the only one I really enjoy.

Many thanks for this great place Jordan, I'll be around to watch it get 20. I promise.

Congrats GTPlanet on the decade!!! :gtpflag:
Glad to be a part of this ever growing community... :)

Congratulations! I've been here four of those years, since 2007, and I am still, more than ever, glad to call GTPlanet my internet home. Great work Jordan, and let's await the future achievements you, and GTP, are sure to acquire!

:gtpflag:

Congrats, GTP!

I too joined in 2003 looking for the prize car list for GT3, but ended up staying for a plethora of other reasons. Since then most of my time has been spent in the Did You See Anything Good Today thread posting my photos from the streets of Hong Kong. I've been around a few forums and I don't think there are many that are as well organised. The contribution from 99% of the GTP'ers is constructive and mature and I really enjoy reading the posts here. I have made a couple of really good like-minded friends through the site which emphasises the great community spirit we have.

So, thanks Jordan and here's to the next 10 years!

Hi, You did well Jordan 👍
I remember this certain person jumping around all the GT websites in 2001 pushing/promoting GTPlanet :). I got caught in July 2001 lol, had to check the place out, its come a long way, keep going 👍
Congrats mate, you surpassed all expectations :)

Yes, 10 years! :gtpflag: It wouldn't be possible without you guys, though - thanks for all of your support over the years.

More like it would not be possible without you having the idea to create GTPlanet. At some point, I need to pull my weight around here and buck up for Premium, especially considering I have been freeloading since 2003. :odd: Though, the name I would change mine to is taken by someone who has not made a post in ages.

I'm prepping a special blog post which reviews the history of the site, along with screenshots to document the visual evolution of GTPlanet over the years. It's an overview I've wanted to collect for some time and I've had requests for it before, so I think it will be fun for everyone to look through. :)

Neat!

The new post is up! It took me about 6 hours to re-assemble and screen-shot those old versions of the site, so you guys better enjoy them... :p

I learned a few things I did not know about GTPlanet in the post. Very cool post! 👍

I started lurking the cars in general section, the rumble strip and all the other sections. The Photoshop comps sealed the deal and made me register.

I also joined GTPlanet in 2003. I was looking for tuning information on the Corvette C5R in GT3, as I was not happy with what setup I had at the time. Well that led to more posting the Gran Turismo 3 section. Eventually, I drifted away from the Gran Turismo section and starting looking around other areas of the forum. Outside of a peak here or there, I have basically not been to any of the Gran Turismo sections of the forums since the early days of Gran Turismo 4.

As Omnis said, I have a lot to thank GTP for. I started doing photoshopped cars in here in the weekly competitions, which is what I mainly do now for a living. I remember you recommending me read Battle Angel Alita before you left. I started to read it, but I never got around to finishing the series; I got distracted by other things . . . there is just too much I want to read and learn about and not enough time for all of time.

I greatly appreciate your contributions to the Did You See Anything Good Today thread. I also greatly appreciate the contributions from Cano, Dac_Xint, astrosdude91, M5Power when he still posted here, Serge.D, and any and all others that have made a post with pictures. Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks for your hard work, Jordan. As it has unfolded, GTPlanet turned out to be a big part of my life. It has been to the point of being a central mode of communication and a go-to outlet for socialization right up there with my life in person. For me it's not so much about the games but about the community and the sense of family that I'm familiar with here. I can say that it has enriched my life.

👍

GTPlanet is definitely the best forum I have posted on or visited. The community is fantastic. None of the other forums I am a member of are as well moderated or hold their members to such high standards when posting. It is refreshing that GTPlanet holds people to those high standards and makes the lack of proper punctuation, proper grammar, et. al. in the GTP's AUP all the more apparent on other forums.

GTP's like a second home for me: So many changes in my life throughout the 9 of the 10 years I've been associated with the 'Planet.
