Our Story
I would like to personally thank you for visiting my web site, gtplanet.net. It has taken a lot of time and hard work to create this, and I hope that you enjoy it. I started the original site at MSN Web Communities, on January 12, 2000. I had been dying to make a website of my own, and when creating my first community, my new game (Gran Turismo 2) seemed like a very interesting and exciting subject. So I went to work on the new, bare community, not really having any idea of what I was going to do with it. The first home page had a simple cone from the Microsoft Clip Gallery, and a short paragraph. I put a message or two on the blank message board, and found some GameShark codes and other things for the site. I did a little bit of advertising, and soon, the member count began to grow! The first members were shy, and I was very lucky to get 1 message a week. After a couple of months, however, the community really took off. The message board grew exponentially, and so did the photo albums and site content. Members were talking not only about Gran Turismo, but many other things dealing with the automotive and motorsport world! Finally, after about 6 months, the Gran Turismo 2 community was the largest and most active video game community on MSN, and the rest is history. Obviously, I have moved from MSN to a "real" website now, but don't think I'm going to let the best community ever just fall by the wayside! Our message boards and photo albums will always have their home on my original community, and I encourage you (if you haven't already) to join and participate.
Thanks for listening!
Jordan,
Webmaster and MSN Community Manager
