Ridge Racer Type 4 was so slick!.

Still the best looking overall package that exists for a console imo.
The intro was awesome looking, the tracks was awesome looking
the cars were slick looking, the girl was a sexy cg-girl ( ;) )
and the controls was nice i think.

GT4 might be the one to be able to equal it.. cause i still
dont think that any game will match RRT4 in a few years.

Some highlights of GT4P soundtrack :

GTP - Launch 0:55 in the song!.. just love that guitarriff :)
and the samples that plays in the background.. time flies?
or something .
The drums are very catching too, and you find yourself to
play along and humming :)

GTP - You are to me. Another cool song, and i really like the girls
voice. It suits this kind of music perfectly.
Another guitar/electronic hybrid. I really like the distorted
chords at 1:18 in the song too :)
And how they change small things in the song while going on..
a bit kraftwerkisque :) you dont notice it, but you notice it :)

GTP - Cruising - Sounds like a Kraftwerk ripoff :) like a b-side of
Autobahn from 1974. Awesome with the vocoder singing, and
some very good drums again!. Getting some speed into the
slow song.. so its laidback , while its almost dancy.
I usually FF to 1:48 just to listen to the vocoderparts again and
again and again... sun is going down, you cruise around
nurburgring, watching the scenery for a change, the wind in
your hair, someone in your heart etc ;)

GTP - It could be. Another good song, with a singer, that sounds
almost like the singer in R.E.M :)
The sound makes you think it could be R.E.M aswell.
First starts of with monotonos singing which is perfect for the
chorus which have doubled up monotonus and in the other beat
melodic singing.. Not awesome, but very good.

GTP - Prologue intro - i really like the electronic piano.. and the
tb303 line.. and the whole "intro" feeling it has.. :D
extacy begins at 3:18... :D

Hey you missed out catch me now, the lyrics suit the game sortof. That and you are to me are probably my favorites. I'm just wondering where PD finds these artists?

...doesn't anyone just switch the music off? - i'd switch it off in the menus/setup/garage screens if i could.

if i wanted (which i don't) to listen to music, i'd play something that i like on my own stereo.

You can turn it off everywhere, and quite a few people have said they do so. Myself included.

I only found out last week, after having it for 3 years, that in GT3 you can change the format that your cars are displayed in the garage!!!!!!!

And I just found out after readin your reply that it has nothing to do with this post!!!!!! :sly:

Nothing but snoop dogg fo' shizzle

I think they should bring back some of the better songs in GT2 and add more rock.

As long as they bring back Daiki Kasho, BT, and Junkie XL i'll be happy (any or all of them preferably).

the music is definitely :yuck:

i think they should forget the gad dang music all together and put the memory to better use... is putting on a cd while u play that complicated?

They should just get a copy of "The best driving songs in the world ever 5" and stick it in...

Power ballads here we come!!!!

In the NTSC|NA we had 2 rap songs.... What the hell was the people thinking to add such music to a Simulation game...

Trying to appeal to the large amount of people in North America who like rap?

If you look at your 'true' GT players they're the ones more likely to simply turn off the music if they don't like it or don't want it. New players are going to simply skip the game in favour of hearing Static X in NFSU and whoever that retarded rapper is on the intro.

The problem is, because the game forces you to rice up you vehicle and awards you for it, people see it has a 'rice simulator'.

i think most of you should stop being so ignorant, if gt3 was full of techno i would kill myself hearing that all day. KMFDM is a great techno band but thats pretty much all i can stand. WHATS WRONG WITH THE CULT, MOTLEY CRUE, AND JUDAS PRIEST ???

Edit:Im rude when tired.

IMO rock doesnt have "psych-ness"* to it. infact rock is like hearing a bunch of apes banging on drums..its sounds old and primative to me

*my new word of the day, if you really want the definition, "buildup"

So artists like steve vai are primative to you? BWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Why would a TRUE gt player turn music off? I listen to music in REAL cars, and hearing what sounds like a bee stuck a shoe box for 10 minutes per race isn't very...interesting.

I would luv some smooth jazz in GT4!;-) PD I know you can do it. BTW some of the music in the making of videos are excellent. Some nice house tunes they've used. Bring them in the game too 👍

What a stupid question and comment. You go to a motorsport event and take your iPod to drown out the sound of those annoying car engines do you? I don't think you'll find many racing drivers that listen to such devices nor a radio. I listen to music when I drive my car too but that's completely different to what I'm doing in GT, to what most of us are doing in GT. Just what is a 'true' GT player anyway? I turn off music in every racing game I play because I realise it's not targeted at me, it's targeted at a more mainstream audience, to give them something to do because they can't be entertained by simply working on lines and gear shifts for hours on end. That makes me less of a 'true' GT player?

As for the musical taste debate:

Stop talking.
Go here.
Resume talking.

Oh yes I concur. :)

afi is ok, i dont reallly like their new stuff. put some dead kennedys in gt4 (police truck) something good like that. or some good ol' misfits would be nice. mix it up though not just one genre of music or everyone will complain like the little wimp who started this thread. wah wah they dont have music i like in the game so im going to be a little jerk and insult everyone elses music taste.

Music in racing games is there for people with short attention spans, kids i suppose. You can't possibly race to your best ability whilst listening to music!
