I know that a big part of the appeal of GT for me is that you get cars that look identical to real life and drive very close to it.

Fantasy cars I wouldn't be so fond of, but I really enjoy taking the concept cars out for a good rip. With some of the concepts showcased in the GT series, it really makes you wonder why these cars weren't mass produced... But to have an installment of GT dedicated to only concept cars... hmmm, maybe if it was like one of the Prologue editions.

Depends, if it only consisted of PD-designed vehicles in the same way as for example GTA, then definitely no.
If it were a game based on user created content where you are able to design the cars completely, combined with GT's physics, realism and other content like tracks, then I certainly would buy it immediately.

A simple and huge NO. There are tons of games with futuristic concept cars. And those are not realistic at all.

For example, customers prefer a 2012 Viper instead of a TC version of the R-32 that doesn't exist.

Yes, I am interest in whatever fantasy cars PD create. I want something stronger, faster, better handle, and smoother aerodynamic drag than the Redbull X2011. Nah, I'm dreaming.

To add more to this, GT would really have to sell me the idea of a game that only has race cars. I would have to have a serious think before purchasing.

that particular version doesn't exist in real life, hence it's just a wasted opportunity. Would have preferred the latest DTM cars for example, or V8 supercars, stock car, tc2000, etc. etc.

Formula GT does resemble real life. Sure, it isn't identical to a real-life race car, but it's along similar design principals to some open-wheel series, like F1. The X2010/2011 are also similar to real life in that they not only can be built in real life but also that they borrow from what actual cars have already done. The body design is similar to a Formula One car with a closed cockpit and Caparo T1 cowls in front of the wheels, and the fans it uses for suction were already put onto a real F1 car decades ago (used in one race before being banned, as I recall).

Fantasy cars like the speed racer car or the batmobile will be nice additions. Having goofy things like that makes the game go farther in the fun department.

Hot lapping spa in the batmobile? Yes please.
