Sad because he brought such strong and diverse opinions, yes. However, I won't miss his cocky attitude and witty remarks.
Yes, it is sad that a member who's been here for almost a full year, thought he could flaunt the AUP and TOS with such blatant disregard.Originally posted by Night_Drifter

The Dictionary's definition does not apply to cars. Drifting in this sense was just a term used by Tsuchiya-san describing what he was doing.

no, it dosent apply to any object, it applies to the action any said object can do.
anyways, heres some more proof that FF drifting is accepted and not shunned like it is here.

Word up ya'll, after reading all this i see we take drifting waaayy to seriously, bah its just a game that we play, I can say right now that most of the people talking about wich driftng is better and possible etc etc,...havent ever even drifted a car in real life.
We gotta close this, because the debate over FF drifting is going to be endless...silviadrifter, battle_stage, and countless others have solid opinions of why FF isnt drifting, and they have various facts to back it up..
others think FF can drift.
We must look at the game, then look at real life if we want the answer.
drifting by close definition is a body being carried by an opposite or alien force(aka a log floating down a river) the log stays mostly in place but the water is what is moving it, this is drifting, and it does not state anywhere that the "drifting" body has to be at any sort of angle.
thusly, drifting in techincal terms and physical terms can be a car skidding straight down a hill with the brakes on lock. the cars wheels are still, the car is not shifting or moving, but the car itself is moving down a path or surface, therefore it is drifting.
Saying an FF can't drift is purely bias.
every other night when i drive home from my girlfriends house i go down a huge hill with several turns, and since its usually late at night i tend to go wide and try to make my car drift (pontiac sunfire BTW) and low and behold!!!! it actually slides sideways!!!
no it does not slide for the whole corner, but "angle" is achieved and adhesion is lost and control is input all without using the ebrake.
TECHNICALLY i AM drifting. period.
you cannot say that an FF can't drift, any object on this planet has the potential of being able to drift, slide a block of wood down the road and its drifting. debating on why RWD can drift better than FWD is like debating over what slides down a hill faster, a brick or a piece of palstic.
this debate is pointless.
drifting is possible on ANY drivetrain period, it does not matter how you do it, and nowhere does it state that a drift must be produced from a force that "pushes". it just dosent make sense to say that anyways. if you are losing lateral adhesion, and youre going sideways, no matter what your angle is you technically and physically ARE drifting.
the debate over what is faster and if an FF can keep up with a RWD is a completely different debate.
down to the wire, once again, all drivetrains can drift.
lets just shut up about it already cuz its endless no matter how much we keep studying it..we just need to let it go and accept the physical facts.
if you don't belive me, then go find a FWD car, and drive it on a downhill bend at 120km/h and try a little feint maneuver...ull see what happens.

I'm fighting to keep myself from arguing more, but I'm just going to keep my mouth shut.
