On one hand, I feel bad for Snyder. But on the other hand I'm glad he's out. Still, I have sympathy.

Fun Wonder Woman advert with Melissa Benoist (TV's Supergirl), Teri Hatcher and Lynda Carter

...New International - French - trailer, featuring snippets of..... well, watch it and find out for yourselves.

Oh thought you meant featuring snippets of new stuff.

...Hah!! I wish that was true. But hey, at least we know almost all the story beats this film will go through. Thank you Warner Bros. Marketing division, for a series of way-too-revealing trailers for all the Jack Snyder directed movies so far!!

Thankfully, WW's plot detail hasn't been too spoiled in the trailers, so that's at least a silver lining if there was one.

Wait why do say that? the trailer didn't show anything really? we didn't even see Superman or Steppenwolf yet.

...True that we haven't seen either of (rumored) Supes or the (rumored) Steppenwolf, but figuring out the flow of the film's narrative from all the trailers I've seen so far is not that hard - at least to me, that is. Of course, it's just the story elements the filmmakers will follow to get to the climax and the ending, and obviously, it'll be a bit harder to fill in the gaps in between but hey, I'm an old cynical git, so don't take my lamentations too seriously. Otherwise, you're going to end up with premature gray hairs.

Good points but I wouldn't call it spoiler-y just yet. Have you seen the Spiderman trailers? Yikes

...Yeah, that one's pretty awful. You can basically infer almost every step the movie will take, if you splice all the trailer released so far together. It's the first Iron Man, all over again!! I'm not even gonna bother seeing it in the cinemas. (I wasn't planning to see it in the first place anyways...)

I think all the spoilery bits in the Spiderman trailers are to drum up pre-release toy sales, though.

So, Wonder Woman:

Let me start off by saying, and I mean this with absolute sincerity: bull:censored: Zack Snyder wrote this, co-wrote it, contributed a single word, or even a thought to this film. I say this because I didn't hate it nor was I indifferent toward it like the past two movies in the DCCU. "Don't you mean past three?" I've never seen Suicide Squad nor do I have any plans to do so.

Wonder Woman, as a film, had a lot riding on it. It was either going to be the film that encouraged me to keep going with the DCCU, or it was going to be the straw that broke the camel's back. I was far more excited about Wonder Woman and it delivered. It sets itself apart from everything else by being a genuine comic book movie that doesn't go out of its way to be brooding or philosophical simply for the sake of contrasting Marvel movies.

So let's get this out of the way first and foremost: Gal Gadot works as Diana, despite her not having the source-depicted physique of an Amazon/demi-goddess. She's perfect for the role. I don't really know another way to describe it — she was one of the best things in Batman v Superman and she carries all of that charm, all of that character in this movie.

If you're like me and Wonder Woman was the last chance you were willing to give DC before calling it quits on their movie franchise, go see this. Today. Right now. If you've already given up because of the good ol' "three strikes and you're out" rule, assuming you've seen the prior three films, consider one more chance. Wonder Woman should have kicked things off and served as the blueprint for future movies. Now, at least in my opinion, it overshadows everything else to such an extent that the Justice League movie has to live up to it.

I'm ready for the sequel.

Absolutely loved the movie, the theater erupted in applause when it was over. I have hope for JL now but, would much rather see a WW sequel.

The WGA have some weird rules about who can be credited as a writer and when. Graham Yost is credited as having written Speed, but freely admits that Joss Whedon wrote 98% of the final film when he was brought on as script doctor. Because of WGA rules, Yost gets the credit. Likewise, Paul Haggis wrote a draft of Quantum of Solace that was ultimately abandoned by EON Productions, who brought Neal Purvis and Robert Wade in. Even though everything Haggis wrote was scrapped, he was still credited as having written it because of his early work (Purvis and Wade also shared credit). Joshua Zetumer was brought in as script doctor, but was uncredited - even though Haggis was credited when he was script doctor for Casino Royale.

Being a writer in Hollywood is probably the most thankless job imaginable. Studios see writers as completely expendable, and producers will often do as they please once they have a script. Joss Whedon pretty much disowned Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Alien: Resurrection because studios took over and the films departed from his original vision. Likewise, Kevin Smith famously talked about his experiences working on a Superman reboot with Jon Peters. His excitement waned when Peters kept interfering, insisting that Superman should fight a giant spider in the finale and using children to settle character designs based on their reactions to toy models. When the project fell apart, Smith wasn't too surprised to see a giant spider - albeit a mechanical one - in the Jon Peters-produced Wild Wild West, one of the most notoriously-bad films of all time. Because as Smith said, in Hollywood people fail upwards.

So Snyder might not have contributed anything to Wonder Woman. But he gets credit because Hollywood abuses writers and the WGA is a mess of conflated egoes and heavy-handed union tactics.

I hope we see something special from Superman, because I don't think he can go toe to toe with WW(in this universe).

Can we talk about something else too? Wonder Woman joins the Marvel films (and Iron Fist) in this weird facade of characters not wanting to believe something.

So Steve is ultimately unwilling to believe in Ares being responsible for the war, despite seeing Diana bring down the top of a clock tower with nothing but outright force, kneed a guy through a wall (yeah, there's no way he survived that), and took on a barrage of gunfire with her wrists and a shield.

Oh, and her saw her (multiple times in fact) jump far higher and cover more distance than any human, Olympic-level athlete or otherwise, could ever hope to. My point is at what point did he think to himself "Nah. She's lying."

Can we just stop this, please? It annoys me more than anything else. There was no reason for Claire to be shocked about Davos' mentioning of a dragon in Iron Fist. There was even less of a reason for anyone on AoS to be skeptical of Ghost Rider being what he is, especially after having interacted with Lady Sif. And now we can add this to that list.

Maybe i can see Steve not believing Ares is real, because Diana only read about men in books and never saw a real man until now. besides, he's only seen men start war, not some mythical being. Shoot, he didn't even know what to make of her. I'll give him the benefit of naivety, but I agree with you.

Yeah, kind of silly with Claire, after knowing there are other beings in the universe even.

that was a very pleasant watch. Best DCEU movie for me (coming from one who enjoyed MOS and BVS UC). I'll be honest, this may sound a bit douche-y but her background kinda made me not root for her, but credit where it is due -- Gal nails it. She getting to know the real world is really well done. Chris Pine is fantastic and both have amazing chemistry.

The fight scenes are an absolute joy as well. Hype for JL rising significantly. Don't 🤬 this up Zack and Joss.

Do you mean Gal Gadot's background as an actress?
