So should I shell out the million for an Enzo, or is the [much prettier] 458 up to snuff at a fraction of the cost?

I feel like crap....I had to cut the last chicane to win la sarthe

I too feel horrible if i end up cutting any corner at La Sarthe even if only by accident. :)

I've won it now in the 599,the California and the 458 Italia and the 458 seems to be the best at this early stage for me...Just ran a slow but super clean 3:46.xxx in it!

Enzo can lap 10 seconds faster, with both fully tuned, but it's making 20 seconds on the straights with the massive power/torque advantage and losing 10 seconds back through ALL the curves. It really lacks front downforce (compared to a tuned 458 with all the aero bits), and there's not a lot you can do about it. Rear grip in both cars is great though, but there's the power v front grip scale.

I went with the 458 Fully tuned & Aero... Cant catch the enzos on sarthe. I gain huge ground on the twisties, but not enough. Fiddling with tranny and reducing rear downforce still to no avail...

you're doing something wrong then...

I've found that you can start off from Mulsanne corner side by side with an Enzo, and even with him in your slipstream he shouldn't be able to catch you.

Remember, exit speed from the slow corners is worth a lot, and drafting when you can on the first part of the straight before the first chicane should get you within striking distance of the 2 leading Enzos (always 2 up front for me, always the same?) by the end of the Mulsanne. The Porsche curves should be worth a lot as well as they're kinda slow there.

My experience with Enzo for this event-a
Walk in the park.I've done every possible upgrade & for suspension I just up camber to be 1.8 /2.0. And also ARB up by 2points each.hardly over or understeered and with massive power in the pocket I've managed to catch up and got their enzos to see my brakelights when into the last lap.

Got a similar-sounding setup as the one above by the sounds of it. Rolls great through corners, but still gives me a tail wag if I give it a boot full too early... just the way I like it. Winning quite steadily now (lucked out and only got one other Enzo) but still need a few more rounds to get the feel for the car.

Don't really have a target time, though I'm down in the 3:43's right now. I'd be pleased if I can shave another 15s off, anything more and its a bonus. Going to pull out the 458 again too, get it dialed in. Perhaps even the Scud might go for a ride! 👍

You should be ok with a pumped 458. I used mine, which hits an even 600pp and managed to nip the lead before the final left/right/left/right combo. I was hitting just shy of 220mph all the way down the back straight (minus slowing down for buses).

However, I've no idea what I've done to the car, even on Super Slicks it was driving like a complete turd, the arse kept spinning out and under braking it was all over the place :grumpy: A well setup 458 shouldn't have a problem. Have a look in the Tuning Forum, there's a rather handy stickie at the top which details all the builds posted...

I did it in an enzo in the low 3:33 without cutting any chicane..I will grinding later and cut as many chicanes as possible. I am hoping for mid 3:20s.

I've noticed this with a lot of the Ferrari's and the Lambos (in other events), which surprised me as the top Mercs don't seem to suffer from this. I though it just might be me not getting on with MR's.

As a general point, I'm not getting into this Seasonal as much as some of the others recently. Perhaps it's the lack of variety as there are only a relative few cars to use. Horses-for-courses I suppose.

EDIT: I most recently completed this with a fully lightened and mildly tuned 430 Scuderia on RH tyres which had to be driven very aggressively at Sarthe as it tops out at about 198mph on the straights. Won at the very last chicane.

I have got it down to 3:35 in the enzo and am hoping to go sub 3:30...just loving the enzo on this track:)

Races are to easy, with ferrari 458 italia. With enzo more easy

Just posted elsewhere that I'd like to see inter-manufacturer seasonals.

Maybe it's just me being ham-fisted with the car and not used to the huge amount of beans. I've been driving a lot of low to mid range motors recently. I'm gonna troll the Tuning Forum later for a better setup.

Out of interest, does anyone know what, if any, limitations have been applied to grip levels and driving aids..?? I know the Expert Seasonals set grip reduction to "real", which made the Scooby challenge a proper headache...

Not likely - the AI have real trouble with the Murcielago twins (LP640 and LP670 SV), usually losing it under brakes, around the apex, on the exit of the corner, down the straight, in the pits (really, B-spec driver?), etc. The 458 and Enzo drivers would tear past the Murcielago pileup and would never be seen again.

Agreed. That's why I think we should have the Lambo and the AI the Ferraris. Same with BMW Vs Merc, for instance. Give the AI decent BMWs and let us wallow around in lardy Mercs. With some tight PP/power/weight restrictions, maybe a cap on how much you spend on your car, or whatever, to stop people maxing out their cars.

There's Shirley many manufacturer head-to-heads that could be done, giving us the crappier of the two options and the AI the good stuff...

That's definitely weird. I hesitated to take out the fully tuned 458 because it's too fast, I usually catch the P1 Enzo at the end of Mulsanne at the latest. The Scuderia was and still is my favourite of the Ferrari road cars, perfect handling, and a real challenge to beat the Enzos on Sarthe as it lacks top speed.
458 is reserved for grinding in this event.

can someone please give me a link to a good ferrari setup

I thought they spoke english in the UK...

3:32:006 was my best lap in a fully tuned Enzo. I stopped grinding after I hit the credit cap hoping to buy the X2010, but I am to low so I went and spent 5mil on UCD cars to comfort myself.

If you doa search for 599 Tune you will get a bunch of threads with suggestions on how to tune your car. That's how I got my Enzo tunes to perfection.

thanks for my gift zubi77 you are a superstar!

funny thing, that in the background of the event menu there`s a mercedes cockpit :D they should change it to something more ferrari...

I'm having a lot of fun racing La Sarthe in my F40 :) She's a handful, but there's nothing quite like throwing down a hot lap with absolutely no aids... Oh, and plus you get to drive "the best supercar ever" (imo) while making half a million a race :)

I've been doing this in a tuned 512BB without cutting any corners at all and it's great fun. It's usually a close finish as well. Just stuck on the basic (fixed) sports suspension, in fact all the upgrades that aren't adjustable except for the fully adjustable gear box

Did good getting gold with the 512BB on Autumn Ring. It's too much RPM for not much power, so it was quite a challenge to keep this oldie on track.

Just did all events in 599.

Easy money and a bit of a challenge with the enzo on l'sarthe had to cut chicane before the finishing line to take it.

Hey guys anyone got any good setups for the new Ferrari races For the 599 or enzo let me please

gutted no new cars in OCD !!!
