It's not that it's slowing anything down during normal usage, it's just that it's still using about 10k kb's of ram to just run a program I don't need. That and it sits in the registry making itself used upon startup, which I'm fully against auto-start programs.

I dont really see any of that as a problem. My computer still starts up in under 5mins (usually less that that). Until I have problems with it then I'll stop using it. Til then I'll continue to use it.

5 minutes is an awefully long time for a PC to boot up. Mine is up and running in 2 mins tops maybe.

I was using 5mins as an example. :p

But it's still in your registry plugging away. I wouldn't let a program that, in the past, has been known to drop some random spyware's into my registry. But, since the program works for you, keep on trucking.

Kind of on topic:

I'm currently in design of my first LiteStep skin. It's not going to be the most fantastic thing to hit the market, but it'll be clean. Stay tuned...

Ditto, It loads up in about less than a minute, then I log-in, and it loads for like 10 seconds, and I'm done.

5 min. ?! 1 min. ?! I just do a standby so it's never "shut down" all the way, takes no time at all.

Same here, I also read somewhere that it takes the same amount of electricity restarting and shutting down each day as it does just leaving it on or on standby etc.

My latest.

Meh, I've never really payed attention to how long it takes to boot. That was just an estimate. Mine probably takes about a minute as well..

BTW - You are counting how long it takes to boot up all your apps on startup too, right?

Standyby/Hibinate is crap. It's more effeciant to just turn your monitor off instead of using one of those two

Well, in theory, the PC still uses more electricity if you leave it overnight, but electricity companies charge less for off peak usage.

Blake, don't you think it's about time you switched over to Windows XP?

Well I'm quite happy with 98, I can't be bothered paying for XP.
