Impressive how people use tools like this! For me it would enough to have standard layery / vinyls which I can recolor, ad some Text and simple symbols and objects. I would also nice to be able to import jpg.

I wonder how PD will prefent people driving with nakded porn girls and swastikas on their cars online ;)

People report = Online ban for X time.

If the same guy was caught 2 or 3 times with inappropriate liveries, permanent ban. :)

Like others have said, a livery editor does not have to be a hyper-advanced thing. MCLA had a decent livery editor which allowed people to make great designs. I never made anything noteworthy, aside from a Corvette C6.R lookalike. The big problems I had with it was the vinyl limit and the car was separated into sections (Front bumper, rear bumper, sides of the car, roof, etc) which made it impossible to move a vinyl from section A to section B.

I'd really enjoy being able to at least switch the primary and secondary colors of my cars. I want a VW Bus that looks like my BF Surfer in GTA Online. It's white on top and dark blue on the bottom.

I find it a little bit ironic that you can make an itasha in Forza, but not in Gran Turismo.
There are so many ways to moderate liveries, so I don't see how it could be such a problem to just omit them because some people will try to do some offensive things.
You could have an approval process to allow your livery to be shown online. Perhaps limit it to 1 livery per day, or 2 days, and if somebody submits and offensive livery, revoke the privilege for a week.
Have options to allow or disallow custom liveries in a lobby. Have personal option to never show liveries if desired or always show liveries.
One livery moderation per week should be enough. Might encourage people to submit something half-decent. ...oh, and don't bother with some complicated livery editor. Importing image files from a PC should be much easier.
Can the developers or producers get in trouble for offensive player-created liveries shown in online games? Gran Turismo and Forza do carry the minimum age rating... Can they get in trouble for offensive liveries shown in Youtube videos?

Actually, if you see someone's car pass by to reveal expletives, swastikas, porn, etc, report them.

Yes, YT could age-restrict it to 18+ only, or remove it altogether.

For some reason my Mazda mx5 has liveries.

But why. I've got working window wipers on mine and I'm able to add body kits onto it.

To give all the duplicate Miatas something unique. Each standard Miata has hidden stripes, but they are different for every car.

What they need to fix is the window wipers work on the outside but when in first person view they don't move. And they should basically add the same interiors to all the mx5/miatas.

The in-game editors really aren't that bad. Yes, in photoshop you can just insert already made decals and such (I'm assuming, I've never used photoshop for liveries in other games), But all you really need is tracing paper, tape, a pencil, and a computer and you can make anything.

I made this by finding the car in Google and tracing the design on it, and then finding logos and doing the same thing.

The only shapes I used to make that were squares, circles, circle gradients, and triangles. You kinda feel more accomplished seeing what you made and knowing what it took too make it. The side design itself was over 700 layers.

Same with this

Orange was right after I finished transferring it to Forza, the right is obviously the finished. In-game editors really aren't bad if you know what you're doing with it.

This is a must have.

I would love to have the possibility to make liveries in Photoshop (or any other software) and save it to jpeg and than import from GT and past it in the car.

I used to "paint" my own liveries in the computer racing game "Grand Prix 3". That was great fun!

If they added a livery editor, maybe we could add our own liveries to the standard cars so we won't have to look at their ugly textures.

I think there should be an in-game editor in

I think there should be an in-game editor since some Gran Turismo 6 users don't have computers.
It can be called "Paint Booth" in the Paint section of tuning.

For every one person that would create a cool design for a car, there are 10 kids that will race around the track with obscene photos and words. It just won't happen. PD is not going to have videos and photos of their product all over the internet with that sort of trash displayed on the cars.

I disagree and this is an alarmist view IMO. I played Mod Nation Racers for a couple years and there were thousands of custom karts created and I never saw anything obscene or inappropriate. There was a button on everyone's profile to report an improper design, but I never used it.

Same for the NFS Shift series, great custom liveries and used online.
