Motorcycles in GT6?

"I just don't see why they should combine it with GT" - If you'd ever played the original TT, you should know that GT4 and TT shared A LOT of the same resources. It's a lot more practical/efficient to combine the two. Plus, it's not necessarily a matter of "why should they?". For the people who like bikes, it would just be cool... almost like getting two games for the price of one. And it's addition would almost certainly be implemented in such a way as to not hinder the experience of those who don't like bikes. So I ask you: Why shouldn't they combine it with GT?

except this is a terrible business model, getting two games for the price of one is unheard of in the pay to play/DLC era, especially from PD/Sony where profit is a necessity for future development and continuation of the series.

Guess what, bikes could be offered as optional DLC and in the process creating potentially more revenue than a standalone disc would.
Especially given the relative low sales of TT, it would make even more sense businesswise to combine the 2 with one being an optional additional purchase to a much better selling game/genre.

I'm betting that with the current lack of DLC for GT5 and people literally begging for it, a bike-pack would even persuade those curious or just want to try something new, who wouldn't otherwise have bought a standalone bike-game.

People are not begging. If I wanted to try something new I would play its rival from the same genre available on XBOX 360. Having said this I am not confident in their ability to provide such a product and therefore may backfire.

They can not even provide a representative car list. All you would see are Susukis and Yokohamas left right and centre.

What are you talking about?

Taking into account everything that's in bold, you're going to reply with this? \/\/\/

People are not begging.

uhhh h h h hhh.

Yea, play its rival guys. You heard it here first.

I'm confident in their abilities. I can't even fathom why someone would think not.

Look at the Premium list of cars (which is decently well-balanced). And since the DLC came after the game released (dur), don't take into account any car that was released as DLC. And it's as if you didn't even read this thread.

Unlike the car enthusiasts who play GT, Tourist Trophy players see it as one of the best, if not the best, motorcycle sim. That's using GT4's physics engine (tweaked) and GT4 didn't even allow you to turn ABS off. If you don't get what I'm trying to say, motorcycle sim players and car sim players don't have the same needs. People who enjoyed/enjoy Tourist Trophy aren't going to be as picky about which bikes make or don't make it into the game. There's more to it, but I don't feeling like wasting my time.

Oh,
and as we all know, the Standards aren't even real! /s

I didn't realise Yokohama made cars.

Gran Turismo 5.

The standards aren't real? Whut? As for the premiums the balance is still firmly towards Japanese cars. PD will never change in that regard.

Guess you're right and I've misunderstood his point entirely reading it back, sorry about that.
Ignoring that guy's post above yours, my post was only directed at that new member. The one who was using a device to give his two cents.

Edit -
Oh wait, It's two different people. Both new members with the same terrible thought process, but different people. I'm talking about the two people I replied to (not analog, I was only using his post to assist mine), in case someone else got confused.

SimonK, I'm only here for a few threads/posts/reasons. Definitely not here to reply to every cringe-worthy post I see. Both, generally-speaking and to take a jab at you.

It's not like Tourist Trophy was vastly successful as a standalone game. And I'd bet that a Tourist Trophy game would do even poorer today now that the standard cost of games has become $60. The difference in sales between a standalone TT game and the boost in GT sales that they'd get for appealing to bike fans isn't extremely great. Combine that with the fact that manufacturing and shipping two separate games would cost much more than just manufacturing and shipping one, and no it's not really a better business model to release TT as a separate game than as a part of GT.

But you do have a point about DLC. If anything, it'd make the most sense for it to be a DLC expansion for GT6. To be honest, I'm surprised that they haven't done that with GT5.

Yeah, what's more absurd is paying $60 for a bike game that would probably, basically be a carbon copy of GT6, with the cars removed and motorcycles added in. DLC would certainly be understandable, but if PD is able to, I'd rather have them included initially... of course.

No, because NISSAN doesn't make motorcycles...really, PD has difficulty with getting a fair sampling of the Worlds cars in the games.

They did do this Mori Scooter concept a few years ago though (and TT did feature scooters, just saying...;))

Why does it have to be $60? TT wasn't.

Neither was GT4. :p

It wouldn't have to be $60, but that's the standard price for console games nowadays, so it'd be surprising if Sony decided it ought to be sold for less. HD collections of old PS2 games selling for $40 is one thing, but we're talking a brand new game here... even if a lot of the code/assets are recycled from GT5/GT6. They didn't initially price GT5 at $40, despite 80% of the cars being recycled from GT4, so why would they sell TT2 for $40 for recycling assets from GT5?

Also GT just is a car racing game

Historically speaking, you are correct. But it wouldn't be a sin to merge TT into GT, nor would it diminish the car aspect of it any more than if TT remained separate.

IMO I don't want motorcycles in GT6. But if they do they should just make a new game called GT6 Motorcycle version.

As long as motorcycles and cars have their own events and do not intervene in online races, the idea doesn't sound so bad. Well, perhaps PD can have one event in which both vehicles are acceptable (think Turbo/Like the Wind Events).

I've yet to see a compelling argument for why bikes don't "belong" in Gran Turismo.

The argument of "because it's a car game" is laughable.

Now this I agree with.

I agree. Let us all laugh together.

I want this to become reality ASAP.

I got no interests in MC's and i think they should put more time in Car Customization instead of puttin in MC's
