N2O and Engine swaps?

I don't think many other forms of motorsport will use it. F1 didn't like it and has stopped using it already. The fact it has only been included in ten vehicles makes it very unreal to make it an upgrade to your car in GT5. I know Williams is trying to sell their system to others but that's far from close yet. And the fact it's not going to make your car faster at all makes it just useless as an upgrade.

Just give Kers some time. Mercedes build a pretty well thought Kinetic Energy Restore System last year. Mclaren could use it without getting a real disadvantage.

The problem was the double decker diffusor. Without Kers, you have alot more room for those diffusores.
Don`t buy this gentlemen aggreement crap. Ferrari and Mclaren abandoned it because they designed their car around the DDD this season.

Thanks god that this is over next season.

I hope the engine swaps will be like the ones in Forza. Limited by manufacturer is the best way to do it. You would make everyone happy that way. Fans get engine swaps and manufacturers are happy because you cant drop a GM engine in a Ford car. Its a win-win to me!!

Swaps were limited in F3 as you could not e.g. put a V8 into an old nissan even if surely nissan has had V8 in their racing cars.

WRONG, It is a very good idea but it will be much better suited to saloon and gt cars.

Thats also rubish it only didn't make a difference on F1 cars because they have such a high power to weight ration and it ment the diffusers had to be smaller which didn't help either. That fact is it works very well on GT cars as porsche have proved at Le mans and the nurburgring were other cars couldn't deffend against the Porsche KERS car as it had to much power out of the corner and on the straight.

Seriously I wished some people would do some research before posting comments.

EDIT: sorry for the double post i was editing my other post but in stead it seems to have quoted me and made a new post.

Maybe it had something to do with engine bay clearances or something.
You could put a v8 into a Daewoo, I mean chevy, Aveo.

They were also limited to what cars were in the game from that manufacturer. From what I remember, the only racing engine that you could swap into a road car was the C5-R 427. But i could be wrong, as it has been a while since I have played Forza.

I really hope there is no NoS in GT5. It just seems tacky to me. It is way to artificial, its childish.

What you're saying is not really true. The reason why KERS was not a "success" in F1 last year, was simply down to the fact that the additional weight of the KERS system had negative effects for the weight distribution and thus on cornering. Although the weight of the cars was all the same, there was not enough "spare" weight available to put it where you need it.

This had nothing to do with the discussion about the legality of the double diffusors. Coincidentally, the teams that used KERS did not have the double diffusor, which proved the more powerful asset to have.

Didn't KERS also cause a couple deaths? Like someone would get the button and the car would catch air and crash? I think at least two people died while KERS was in use. Not entirely sure if it was the cause of the fatal crashes, though.

No. :odd: Push the button and take off? How powerful do you think it is? It's not Knight Rider you know.

KERS was only in use during 2009. No one has died in F1 since 1994.

If Kaz confirms accurate NOS modeling, my guessing is he will say "We couldn't replicate you laughing yourself to death if there's a leak"

(Get the reference to one of his previous statements?)

And that last person is who I was named Ayrton senna R.I.P
two months after I was born....

I thought NOS was a brand. Anyway I liked it. But no AI car had it did they, so it was a bit pointless.

I understand that everyone thinks N2O is ricey and stupid because they automatically think FNF. Well N2O was around a lot longer than that movie and just because they use it in a "ricey" movie doesn't discredit it. You can use it in your cars in real life and it does give you a performance boost. I can understand if it is not allowed in some races in GT5 (probably most races) but it should be in the game.

I also  at your comment of it being artificial and childish. It's real and despite the impression we get that all kids are like OMG NAWS because of FNF it is still a real tool to use in racing that allows it.

Check out Wikipedia's nitrous oxide article if you want to read up on it. NOS is indeed the brand.

When I see the term NOS Engine, I'm thinking about vintage crate engines from the 70's that have been sitting in some warehouse for decades... :D

Ok can a mod make the tittle Nitrous and engine swaps?

Do it yourself, you have the ability to. Just go to first post, edit then advanced options and you can change the thread title. Done.

I just think it's artificial from a pure racing point. Drag racing isn't a big part of GT but having NOS in circuit racing? well thats just silly.

Also, games like NFS and movies like Fast and Furious has definitely put NOS in the 'gimmick for kids' basket in my opinion.

^ This.
Don't be lazy & expect us to clean up after you. 👎
I don't think Nitrous and Engine Swaps would fit as a "tittle", that's a lot of letters to fit over an "i" or a "j" and would look very untidy. :sly:
