Can anyone who was a competent GT3 player comment on how the physics are different and if they can still play well or does it take a different style of play than in GT3?

There are loads of subtle changes, likewhen you brake you can lock your wheels more so you have to be careful about that. Also the cars feel closer to losing control when you push the to the limits.

also on top of that, the balance and traction control has been completely redesigned, only reason i know is because a got a psm disc that has two developers being interviewed

I dont see why they would need to completely redo it. In doing so, they very easily leave themselves open to messing something up that they got right in the past games. If it aint broke, dont fix it, but if theres room for improvement, then there is nothing wrong with tweaking.

They've redone the entire physics engine, it's still GT, they havn't made any mistakes in what they've done cos it's better now, feels more accurate.

GT4 at the games show in London and GT4P which uses the final game engine for GT4, the only tweaking to be done now is for new cars and tracks that are added, and the online mode ofcourse.

I've played GT4P....I find that there seems to be more understeer in the game....

rally mode is actaully rally mode...I found the rally mode in GT3 too......gentle.

I like how tires lock up and how the car shifts to one side when heavy braking is performed at high speeds! ^_^

GT4 Physics are almost the same as GT3 but even more improved.Especially for fwd cars, now they don't have that big big understeer when you accelerate out of corner. And slides are controled little better.

Its good, really good. I say GT3+20% better :)
