Well thank you for that insight, Darts, but I was adressing Stune. I am aware that the only word worth paying attention to is that of PD or Sony. Thank you for reminding me for the eighty-seventh time on the same page of the thread that you've been so vividly blinding me with in all your excited race car driver avatar little world.

Yeah, i got my update email earlier today saying Feb. 14th from my pre-order @ EB.


the good thing here is the direction of movement of the date.

Last week I went to best buy (thank god I found a slim ps2) and while I was there, I saw pre order cards for GT4. I figured what the hell and I bought one. I'm looking at it right now and it says a release date of "1/19/05 dates subject to change" Like I said, this was last week I picked it up, and it was a 2 week window at that time.

I have been following this thread (and GT4) for quite some time now and really really hoped the game was coming out on the 18th- I happen to have a friend who works at a local ebgames where I live (studio city, CA) and I asked him about the game and HE TOO mentioned having boxes in the back of the store labelled gran turismo that he claims arrived about half a week ago. I thought he had read the thread and was f'in with me, so I made him take me to the store, and to my surprise he did, and to my even further surprise (and unbridled joy,) there actually WAS a box labelled gran turismo. Even better, I snuck my cheezy camera phone in and managed to take a few pictures- I didn't feel too bad because Jason doesn't seem to care about his job at ebgames all that much (he described it as the only possible place you could be surrounded by video games and still be in a hell hole) lol. I'd dispay the pics or link to them directly but I guess I have to be an 'insider' subscriber to do fancy things like that. Nuts to that!

Those images are crap. Probably one of the NFS or Forza fanboys trying to get us all worked up. What coal_snake described was a shipping invoice, not a hand-scribbled note on the side of a box. Hell, I could do that myself in ten seconds.

On the flip side, I could sit down with Photoshop and make a much better rendition... hmm..

Those pictures are clearly fabricated... someone just used a marker to write that stuff on the box. If there was an actual shipping label, or better yet, a picture of the actual item, then I would believe it... but its not. It's just someone playing a joke.

I too expected someone to pull a stunt like this. I'm just glad this hoax was realized long before in serious emotional damage was done :crazy: .
 
i wish people would please stop posting "this is the official date cause XXXXXX said so"

for god sakes, all the dates are DIFFERENT yet "official"

why doesn't this thread get locked? it's just a huge waste of bandwidth with more and more people posting incorrect information since we DON'T KNOW the correct info as of yet

Ok Ok Ok... Everyone should realize by now that there basically is no release date that everyones going to believe (Other than one stamped "official" by either Polyphony or Sony). So here is what I advise to everyone, instead of filling this thread with mindless arguements back and forth either:

1.) Read the entire thread before posting another release date because chances are its been posted before.
2.) If you are going to re-post a date you better have a significant piece of data to back your claim (i.e. a photograph of the game itself).
3.) Otherwise, just wait it out until we hear or see something official.

There is nothing but about 4 pages of reiterrated release dates and arguements that have already occured once on this thread, so just relax a little, as hard as that sounds for most of us.

Thats just my opinion.

I *JUST* left bestbuy and they have copies of GT4 in the back warehouse. I couldn't believe it myself. So I got my best friend to take a picture of me next to the GT4 box. Picture is pretty high quality, so there should be no debate over weather its real or not.

Anyways, my friend let me pre-buy a copy so why yall are waiting for this next tue. I'll be playing GT4 :P

Anyways, I got an odd feeling that BB is right with its march 16th release date. Yea thats a ways away, but if its wrong, odds are I'm not going to be dissapointed (because I can't imagine it being released any later then march 16th).
