UK -9th MARCH.

Woohoo!!

[28/01/05 10:24]
Snake hits the UK on 4 March, kicking off one of the biggest gaming months ever

Konami have confirmed that Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater will finally hit UK shelves on 4 March, rounding out what will be one of the biggest months ever for both software and hardware releases.

As previously announced, the PAL version of MGS3 will feature extra content in addition to what was included in the US and Japanese versions of the game, although Konami have yet to reveal exactly what these extras will entail.

Meanwhile, the endlessly-delayed Gran Turismo 4 will finally see a UK release five days later on 9 March and, like Metal Gear, the PAL incarnation features additional content, this time in the form of 10 bonus cars.

In addition to these two massive PS2 titles, after the traditional dearth of new games at the start the year, March also sees the release of Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, Star Wars Republic Commando, FIFA Street, The Sims 2 University, Brothers in Arms, Medal of Honor: Dogs of War, Resident Evil 4, TimeSplitters Future Perfect, Devil May Cry 3, WrestleMania 21 and a pair of new EyeToy games.

Of course, March also marks the European release of both Sony's PSP and Nintendo's DS handhelds - Nintendo have just confirmed that DS will launch on 11 March, while Sony are expected to finalise a PSP on-sale date in the near future. Our advice? Start saving now.

I never believe that PSP will be released in March. Its sounds to early. But I like that GT4 Mobile. Its cool on that PSP. By the way PSP going to be so much better then Ninento DS!

They can't keep up with the customers asking.
Yeah. Apparantly only 200,000 units were avalible in shops on the day of release. After this 100,000 units a week will be made. This is because Sony is focusing on selling the more profitable PS2.

Also they were on sell for 20,790 yen (about £100)! This is cheap, but because of demand, Japanese retailers rose the price. Unfortunatley, the PAL version won't be this cheap I don't think.

All this information is from the Feburary issue of Games Master magazine if any of you want to read more information on the PSP and the full review.

VIPERSAN, the 1A-7 test! That's weird, the same thing happened to me. I was sliding and i kept the throttle on and just went completely sideways around the whole thing. It was awesome. I prbaly watched the replay 5 times lol.

Just so you know .. you were right :).

this might sound stupid but i think that there are going to advetise the release date during the super bowl in a comercial or something like that.

For PSP or for GT4?? PSP I could see because a lot of people haven't heard about it, but I would think running a commercial for GT4 would be a waste of $1,000,000 or whatever they are charging for airtime this year.

They ran the other GT commercials during other end of season sporting events, so why not the superbowl? Remeber, they aren't just selling the games, they are selling the systems the games run on and other games as well (who buys just one system and one game? If you have a system you are more likely to buy more games for it.

Excuse me if this has already been asked, but I don't really want to read through 49 pages @ 20 posts per page ;) :D

Reading the last 5 or so pages, I found out that one of the reasons GT4 might be delayed is the addition of new cars that are region specific (PAL will get a few more cars, and so will NTSC) - apparently.

Now my question is - will the new cars added to the European version be only available in that version, or (since it seems US will get their version last) will they be available in the American version as well? (plus whatever other cars that are NTSC region specific might get added, if any). Or, in other words, the cars that will/might get added to the PAL version will only be available in the PAL version, and the cars that will/might get added to the NTSC version will only be available in the NTSC version? - which would kinda s@ck 👎 :indiff:

I hope they just add those PAL cars by the NTSC japan version. And I think it can be possible that they are going to add more american car by the NTSC US version.

I mean. The asian version has +-700 car, the PAL adds 10 more so its +-710 and then finally the US version will be maybe again add 10 (this time american cars) so that version will have maybe +-720 cars!

Thats why it's a pitty the game isn't online so we can't dl the additional cars.

They should implement a way such that you can download extra cars to your memory card (maybe using an Action Replay Max Drive, or similar device). So, whenever you feel like trying/driving a new vehicle that is not originally in your game, you can just download it and save it to your memory card (or load it directly from the device).

That would be pretty cool 👍
Imagine PD continuously making new vehicles for GT4 up until GT5 is released, and all the GT fans out there/here downloading them and trying them :D That would keep us all busy untill the year 2050, when GT5 (after being delayed a total of times approaching the millions) will be finally released :sly: :sarcasm:

I hope they add the Dodge Magnum Hemi (XT?) and Chrysler 300 C. 👍

They had to sell the PS2 hard disk. The memory card isn't big enough to save various cars on it.

You had so much additional cars and tracks for pc games...why not for console games

A box at EB Games said February 2nd. Probably a complete lie, but worth calling on that day and seeing if it's true.

Yeah, I figured that would be a problem :indiff: That's why I added the part in which I said that loading them directly from the device would/could be an option. Didn't think about the hard-drive, though. If PD really did that and released new cars once in a while, I wouldn't mind buying the hard-drive :D It would be cool if console games could be as customizable as the pc games are - I think eventually they will be. Just imagine if there could be software out there that permits you to make your own vehicles and mods and then add them to the game through a device/hard-drive 👍 (ala Need for Speed - old versions, for pc of course).

But they already said the US version will be released later then the PAL. So you american friends of mine can hope of maybe another 10 additional cars. Save the best for last.

heres my look at it. the strategy guide for gt4 on gamestop says 3/8/2005. usually the strategy guidea comes out a week before the game so i think 3/14 or 3/15 will be the us date 💡

Euh... :dunce: Dodge Magnum and Chrysler 300C are the same except that grill :)
Euh...no. one is a sedan, and one is a wagon (estate) not one body panel is the same no interior piece is the same, and no, the grills are not the same. so you got that right anyways.
