After winning with many of my favorite oldies -- I pulled out a Honda S800 RCS Race Car on Special Stage Route 5. I was able to win by just a hair. I don't think it will make on the other tracks because it has no top end, but it can corner like mad.

I've done so many laps now on the 'Schleife in a lot of my old cars, this is by far the best seasonal yet. 👍

Has anyone tried with the Interceptor?
Yes, it's awful. I suspect you could win using racing tyres, but I'm sticking with Sports Hard and it's just terrible to drive.

I had a lot more fun with a fully tuned Samba Bus - although I did put racing Softs on it. Won all tracks except the 'Ring. I even tried putting SRF on, but to no avail. I suspect a better driver than me could win it though.

For an interesting Nostalgia Race/Drift Trial combination use the Shelby Cobra.

Only recently bought it, so I thought I'd have a go on Suzuka. Got a wild 4th with Race Hards and Race Gearbox (all else stock).

I was in a safe third place and thought I'd be clever and drift in style onto the final start/finish straight...nope, the Snake had other ideas: rears caught traction and I was dumped into the Pit wall :dunce:

Evidently how NOT to tame the Cobra: I have a lot to learn.

can anyone tell me why my 475pp Lancia Stratos won't enter the Nur track?

Odd if it doesn't. Haven't actually tried the Stratos myself yet, but it's on my list. Somehow got stuck trying to get the Mark IV around the Ring in under 7 minutes, and no, I still haven't managed. :banghead:

Wow, this seasonal is just great. Used my 512BB, RM Camaro, and Superbird for these so far. I find that having the highest amount of PP and using Sports Softs to be the right amount of challenge for me. 👍

However, those Miuras are crazy though. I was using my RM Camaro on Nurb and one started to slowly catch up to me on the final straight. By the time we got to the end, I found myself trying to block it.

Ran Suzuka with my Shelby 350 at around 490PP. Overtook the Miuras midway through lap 3 but I couldn't really shake them off except on the straights. Won by about 5 secs.. Good race.

the Mark IV is the one car I have yet to buy. Now that I know DLC / Spec 2.0 is 3 weeks away, I will spend the 20 million on it.

How does this car differ from the GT40 classic?

Right Know I don´t have Internet at my home... But I´ve been practicing in Arcade Mode, Professional Level, and using the Skyline 2000GT-R 73. Can someone tell me if the lap times are good enough or I have to use a Faster Car. I added the Specs and Tuning of the car. THANKS.

If there's one car to spend $20M on, that's the one. Alternatively, you could get yourself a '67 ticket and get it that way. Though I know some people don't like to restore the save until they get what they want.

How does this car differ from the GT40 classic?

To be honest, I didn't like driving the GT40 much (then again, it's a standard), the Mark IV, on the other hand, is a pleasure to drive, and hear. Particularly if you spin out, and have to reverse, and then start to accelerate, it's just a pleasure listening to. Though currently, I'd rather not spin out, I want to get down the Ring at least once without spinning, and yes, that's with TC and ASM off. Still working on it!

I did the Mt Aso race last night with a stock Shelby Cobra on SS tyres, and it was absolutely fantastic, really, one of those "this is why I love GT" moments. It all came together, the open air cockpit, the sound, the wonderfully controllable oversteer through the sweeping 3rd and 4th gear corners. Just great!

Fully modified Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 '65

Used Sports Soft tires for Rome, Race Hard for other tracks except Nürburgring where I had to use Race Soft tires. Ended up drafting the lead Miura down the long straight at Nürburgring the outbraking him going into right hander before the pit road entry. Won by just under a second with a lap of 7.45.046!:D Not bad considering the Alfa is 499PP and only has 244HP.:gtpflag:
I'm sure a better driver could do it on worse tires but I'm happy with this.

Will post the tune in my garage shortly. (See signature for garage link.)

👍 It's great how the Cobra drifts into corners - real old school technique.

A bit late to the party with this one, but had a similar 'love it moment' with the Alfa TZ2 on Mt Aso. Those sweeping bends are fantastic and you can really hammer the Alfa through them and pass the Countach like they are standing still.

Came third with the car as standard and a couple of minor forays on to the verge, could possibly win if AI didn't slow me down in critical places and I could get a consistent line through that evil corner into start/finish straight.

I'm with you on that Woodski, the Alpha TZ2 is a lot of fun for the 'ring event in this seasonal.
Although fun, I had trouble winning with it, until I put a stage 3 turbo in it, woo hoo!

I am so very happy to have spent my limited bank account on this Ford Mark IV '67 car, I had no idea it was so damn stable on the Nür, Stock!

I bought it, got the pennyless trophy, had no money to buy oil change, who cares, it was new, and fired up the Nostalgia Seasonal, after downlimiting it to allowed 550pp, on it's racing hards.

I browsed some allowable settings, and maxed front and rear aero, (then rear at 55 to get more engine pp!)

Set my LSD to IT: 9 , AC: 30, Decel: 15 , Camber 2.0 / 1.8 , Toe -.02, +.18, Brake Bias 5/6 , Anti Roll Bars 4/4, Damber Ext 7, Damper Compression 5. (this is my holy grail for G25 wheel settings)

default tranny, default everything else. I wish I understood spring settings, I don't touch these, unless I browse Tuning Subforum for the magical tunes. I wish I had time to tune, but I'm not retired yet, and work 9-6, & need my beauty sleep.

Set the viewpoint to those crazy front aero tire covers taking up half the screen estate, and giggled as I caught 1st place way before the 1st Caroussel.

3rd attempt, I raised RH +1 /+1, just for kicks, and won it sub 7 minutes, at 6:58 , only smooth driving, no aggression needed.

(smooth safe driving comes naturally after having driven this track for 6 months straight, 1 hour daily on average)

very doable.

Everyone get this car now.

The only minor drawback, is sense of speed (due to engine notes being subtle and low, but beautiful), you are driving way faster than you think. which, is good, in a way. Because, driving fast, you are.

Sorry, couldn't help reading that bit in the style of Yoda.

mind read Jedi, you did, hhrrrmmmmm

I got Starwars BluRay Marathon 1080p waiting for me in the coming weeks.

I only saw Return of the Jedi (my first cinematic movie, ever, & fell asleep) , and some of the later Nathalie Portman spinoff ones later.

It is a very nice car indeed! And stable. It's a lot more stable with TC and ASM off than some other cars are with them on, which brings me to...

can anyone tell me why my 475pp Lancia Stratos won't enter the Nur track?

Had no issues entering the Nur track with my Stratos, can't keep it on the road, though, not even with ASM on. It took me quite a few attempts to get down the entire track without major spin outs and get the Miuras. No fun for me on that track, just hard work. Had a lot of fun with it in Rome, though.

I did the whole thing in a not quite stock miura the only add on was rs tires with all aids off except abs 1. But I couldn't win Nurb with SRF off, has anyoune tried a stock miura (w/ racing softs) and only abs 1 on nurb and won?

Edit: I think it was racing softs, maybe racing hards but most likely RS

I'd recommend the classic Camaro Z28 '69 RM. Not for the challenge (ok, top speed isn't great, who cares), but for the pure pleasure of driving it. That ugly, big and lazy V8 pulls the car away every time you hit the accelerator. And that sound!! Makes you shiver every time you change up or down. Even with the transmission whine you "feel" the engine rumble. Pure joy, especially on Rome and Nürburgring.

I used the GT40 race car with 55% power, after the first race decided to detune and use RH to give some competion.

The GT40 Race Car on Sport Hard tires makes things interesting, though more because the car is loose as all hell on sports tires, even when it's detuned.

Been challenging myself to the quickest lap of Nurb, best so far is a 7:25 in Dodge Charger Super Bee, custom tuned to bang on 550pp on SS tires. Love this car, great fun to drive and for a big heavy car very easy to drive and surprisingly handles very well.

Tried serveral cars, The Muira is fast but very twitchy, not managed a lap of Nurb without atleast one spin yet!

GT40 is good but to get it under 550pp you have to detune it too much and it suffers for HP as a result.

Other good cars are:

Dodge Challenger RM
Chevy Camaro RM
Plymouth Superbird
Corvette Convertable '69

Yes I like my muscle cars :-)

AVOID the Shelby Mustang though, handles like **** lol

I don't know what kind of crack you are on, but that car handles great for a musclecar. You can tip it into any corner and then hold it sideways through the apex with ease. Fantastic fun, and sounds nice too (stock anyway).

I've given up trying to race the other cars and have gone for my absolute quickest lap possible. So far I've been using a detuned 2J on racing soft tires and have done 6:32. I'm sure I can get faster but my lines aren't that great. I'll gladly trade the Ferrari @ la Sarthe for this, it's so much more enjoyable of a drive in terms of grinding.

Tried a stock Shelby Cobra on SSR5...

It was a nightmate lol

I haven't tried with the Lambos yet... but I think they are overkill...

👍 I love this car - great handling and grip even on sports tyres. I've done all the races in it for the money. Looks and sounds great in replays too.

i did them all last night with my fully tuned p4 with about 50kg ballast and the rest power limited to get to 450pp and it dominated. it was acctually the first time i had been able to use this car seriously and it is really fun to drive, especially in the steering-wheel viev
