I know I will be hung from a tree for this, but I feel it needs to be brought up.
Am I the only one who has a good laugh at all the folks around here who constantly want to remind you how they never use any assists? I'm being serious, do they even know what realism is?
I for one use assists based on which car I am driving.
Am I driving a full blown race car or am I driving a stock production vehicle.
Surely if I go down to my local Lamborghini dealership and ask to drive the Murcielago and how to turn off the assists I will be laughed at. Therefore, you better believe I turn on TCS, ASM, and ABS when driving it in GT5.
Why you may ask? Because the real 🤬 car has a full blown state-of-the-art Electronic Stability Control system.
Furthermore, do those same people understand that some race cars do indeed have a form of traction control and/or other assists?
Traction control was only banned in Formula 1 at the start of the 2008 season. That says something right there. Therefore, guess what? When I drive the F2007, yes I turn on TCS.
1) Do you know that the Lambo, Ferrari 430 Scuderia, 458 Italia and most of the over 400 HP road cars have a way to disable all the assist? If you are a good driver and you are in a track with one of these beasts, would be better to turn them off if you want to go fast.
2) You can play the game anyway you want, you can use Driving Line, TSC at 10, SRF, Auto shifting, autopilot and whatever you want, I just don't care. Play as you are more confortable, is your right, personally I'ill never laugh at people using assists.
3) I drive with no assist because I go way faster this way. Assist slows me, I can handle basically all the cars in the game without assists except ABS=1, so I do that. I have nothing against people using assists, everyone choose the way to play his game, I don't really care about it.
4) Talking about each assists : TCS in the game function as a power limiter when you start to skid the tires. If you are able to handle the skid, it will only slow you, it's proven. ASM is totally crap to me, is useless in the game, it slows you even if you are a totally bad driver IMHO. ABS is the only aid that helps you to go faster, because is extremely difficult to learn how to not block the tires with no brake feedback, but is possible; I prefer to keep it at 1 just to not stress myself blocking the tires continuosly. SRF... I never use it, and I consider it as a cheat, but if you want to use it, use it.
So, basically I don't care if you use assists or not, I'll never judge you by this fact.
