Anyone heard about the new mystery dungeon game? Aka Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. Oh boy please god, do not let this one become another Free To Play game. If it's another one, then I'm going to go insane. :banghead:
It won't be. The only reason Shuffle and Rumble are F2P is because they should never have been paid games in the first place.

Pokemon Rumble Blast was a paid game. You never know what they could do next.

Hence why I said 'never should have been'. Its a shallow iPhone tier game that was a cash-in when it was originally made.

It really threw me off Pokemon Spin-offs. Rumble and Trozei were some of my favourite Pokemon games but Shuffle restrictions really 🤬 me off. I could only play 5 times every 2 and a half hours, that is bad F2P. Would've been better if it was you died 5 times so it encouraged the Free users to rely on skill while the payers can enjoy the game as they would if they paid full price for the game. I really can't even look at the new Rumble game because of Shuffle. Super Pokemon Rumble was a pretty good game IMO, it was the same but I felt like they gave a lot more to work with and had a story that was far better than ny main series Pokemon game except Gen V.

I absolutely breezed through AS when I first got it (a few weeks ago, late to the party). Used the same Pokemon I always use in Hoenn; Torkoal, Cacturne, Electrode, Tentacruel, Glalie & Altaria. Loved it, thought it was a great game with a few drawbacks; getting the Exp Share so soon is bad, just like getting the Lucky Egg in BW2 so soon. The Exp Share is so broken it levels up your whole team far too quickly. Is it a modern gaming thing where games aren't allowed to be difficult anymore?

Anyway, sped through it, didn't think the post-league stuff was as long as it was described but undoubtedly great none the less. Thought I'd start again and use Pokemon I never use or Hoenn Pokemon overlooked. But one exception; I do have another Electrode.

I have five badges right now;

Anorith lv 31
Electrode lv 33
Lunatone lv 34
Lairon lv 35
Wailmer lv 35
Tropius lv 35

Reasons:

Armaldo: Never bothered with the Hoenn fossils before, ever.
Lunatone: Looks awesome, always loved it but never used it.
Aggron: Again, love it but never actually bothered with it. Sp Def is so bad.
Wailord: I actually wanted a Crawdaunt but finding a Corphish was impossible.
Tropius: I needed a Flying type.

Pokemon used previously before being left behind: Masquerain, Shedinja and Combusken. Masquerain is really interesting.

Getting everyone to lv 35 before I tackle Winona. Without the exp share of course!

Accordong to one of the heads of Pokemon, he sees difficult games as not compelling towards children. This is why BW2 Challenge Mode was dropped, though I want that return.

Exp. Share really does make it way to easy but I do like it. Only because my favourite thing to do in Pokemon games is raise Pokemon and this makes it more of an experience and less of a grind.

Also, the lack of a World Tournament is disturbing.
Pokemon is pretty much falling into the same trap GT has fallen in with content. Leaving everything to online :banghead:

I wouldn't know because I've never had the luxury of playing video games online. But just going back to this...

Absolute rubbish. The generation who grew up with tough games like Battletoads, Mega Man 2 and Batman, or the generation who grew up with tough games like Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania: SOTN and Crash Bandicoot 1, those generations, they really hate video games, don't they? Oh wait, the complete opposite of that.

I'd argue the reverse is true. If games have no challenge, there's nothing to hook you in and keep you there. Bah.

Use it as your Mega? Filter makes it very handy.

It was said last year by the director himself http://www.gamespot.com/articles/pokemon-director-explains-why-series-is-becoming-e/1100-6422945/

Disagree if you want but it seems like this is the direction its taking.

Personally, I'm fine with it being easier IF there was a challenge mode, because I agree challenges keep players hooked into the game but it does need to open up to new gamers. Having a Challenge mode pretty much kills 2 Birds with 1 Stone.

Complaining about a feature that you can turn off is silly. Especially when it's not the problem anyway. It still gives 50% exp. it's just to everybody not just the one Pokemon holding a Exp-share like in the past. That is not really making it easy.

Full experience for every Pokemon involved in the battle instead of dividing it between the Pokemon involved in the battle - That makes it easier. That and getting experience for catching Pokemon as well.

I personally like experience for catching Pokemon. I have those annoying prediciments where I either want to catch the Pokemon or give its Exp to my Pokemon when the Pokemon is rare to find too.

The fact that I got Lv60s when I got to the Elite 4 kinda makes the game easy since they are OP at this point. Also the ability to turn it on and off is pretty much just handicapping yourself, just like Nuzlockes, it's only hard because you're making it hard on yourself.

Been trying to catch a shiny Roselia the past 8 days, no joy. Encountered 595 of the buggers with two 210 chains(maximum amount of PP I have)...can't face going back to the game right now since its annoying me the disappearing act this thing has.

I only have gotten 3 Shinies. My starter Swampert from Sapphire, Golem from Diamon and my Ursaring from X.

I don't like going out and shiny hunt because I find that it lowers there value especially chan fishing shinies. I'd rather find one by chance.

Meh, I'd say hard grafting one out is better than just stumbling on one. Similar to finding money on the street or working for it, you tell me which is more valuable. :p

I have found 13 so far in ORAS, prior to this game I had 3 in my whole pokemon career.

2 beforehand (Kakuna, Voltorb), 2 in AS alone (Swablu, Lombre).

I have a completely different feel with Shinies when you find it by chance. You get Money so you can get things or pay bills etc. You get Shinies and that's it. Finding a shiny by chance to me is like discovering something new that hasn't been seen in the world, it feels great acquring something that is so rare and even more if you like it and I treat all my 3 shinies like they're apart of me. and I know some of those "earned" shinies get tossed away for other things like how we use Money. I got a Shiny Latios through trade once but it didn't have that spark and feel like my other shinies, I still use it and care for it like all of my Pokemon but I don't even pay attention to it being shiny.

You didn't earn the traded one though, I'd say me slaving over a 3DS for 14 hours straight to get a shiny Zangoose made me appreciate the thing even more. Its not like chaining even has a document-able effect.

I know but I don't think "earn"ing it is right either. Though I guess I'm just old school . I personally prefer unintentional moments (like finding a shiny Mudkip as your starter) over well made intentional moments (like hunting for a certain shiny), it adds a bit of spice IMO, and I find them to be more memorable.

Oh of course. :D Everyone loves an unintentional shiny!

Now I can say that Armaldo is so freaking powerful. Such a Physical bruiser. A very nice 'find' this time around; only taken me 11 years to unearth this gem.

I've always loved Armaldo but never had the time to evolve Anorith until X

Is anyone up for a Friendly Free-4-All battle? This needs 4 People to work so I'm curious on who is interested.

Pokemon is pretty much falling into the same trap GT has fallen in with content. Leaving everything to online :banghead:

I'm going to have to disagree... I've spent well over 100 hours with Alpha Sapphire, with at most 1-2 hours of that being spent doing anything online. And I've still got plenty left to do. It's a very content-rich game, even if a lot of it is just filling your Pokedex.

Though I suppose if you've been transferring Pokemon over for generations, you might not have as much to do in that regard. I have a nasty habit of erasing my completed saves to start again, then never really getting anywhere after that.... so despite me getting back into Pokemon mid-4th gen, I haven't been carrying my Pokemon over from game to game. Though with ORAS, I've vowed to break that habit. And I'm even going back and replaying X and Y to transfer Pokemon over to ORAS.

But yeah, I suppose they should expand the post-game content a bit for people who don't need to put much effort into completing their Pokedex.

I see your point. I've been transfering my Pokemon over ever since Gen 3 because I have a huge attachment to all my Pokemon I raised, I think they're special.

I'm kinda sad that this Gen even reduced post-game to begin with. Every other Pokemon gen since Gen 2 has had some sort of Post-Game content fpr those who don't care about competitive play or completing the Pokedex.

Blissey Bases are a godsend if you actually do want to complete your Pokedex.

This thread reminds me, I've really neglected OR and AS over the past month or two.

Today, I got lucky and caught Yveltal with a single Pokeball.

But now I've beaten the Elite Four and didn't keep a close eye on my Revive stock, so now I'm left trying to fight the champion with a level 57 Swanna, level 56 Drifblim and level 61 Lucario.

This champion is the easiest yet. Even easier than Gen 3s Champions.

Though Gardevior can cause problems if you don't have a Physical Steel Move.

I think I have a fighting chance if I resort to some dirty tactics... Set Battle Mode from Set to Switch, spam Minimize with Drifblim and buff with battle items while healing until I can sweep.

On my first attempt, I managed to get her down to her last Pokemon. One X Sp. Def was good enough to prevent a supereffective Mega Gardevoir Thunderbolt from OHKO-ing my Drifblim... but in spite of my stupid high evasion, Gardy managed to get a second Thunderbolt to connect. I had fully healed my Drifblim with a Hyper Potion, but not only did she get lucky by hitting me twice in a row, she got a critical hit with the second Thunderbolt. Naturally, Drifblim was toast.

Here goes a 2nd attempt...

FYI the movesets are:
Swanna - Fly/Hurricane/Bubble Beam/Water Pulse
Drifblim - Minimize/Hex/Gust/Cut
Lucario - Strength/Swords Dance/Close Combat/Dragon Pulse

...pretty awful, I know. I wasn't expecting to be relying on these guys.

I'm OCD with my Pokemon. If my team are levels apart, I lose it and have to grind my lower level Pokemon. I even use a Water type against a Grass type if my Water Pokemon is 1 level lower than the rest of my team

This is the team, I had when I beat the Pokemon League in X/Y (all were on Lv.66)

Greninja
Venusaur
Talonflame
Jolteon
Tyrantrum
Xerneas

While it might seem cheating to use a Legendary, but I feel its my duty to put the Main Legendary on my team because of how the Story is written :p.
