I can't wait until November because these look super fun. I have been playing since I was like 4 and I have had incredible fun with the franchise. The original Hoenn games were fun, but I see these being more fun with the mega and primal evolutions.

Mega Rayquaza revealed.

Mega Beedrill is coming. About damn time, the poor thing's been neglected since day one. New ability is Adaptability.

Edit: And Pidgeot.

Too many good Megas, Beedrill is up there with my favourites so far.

...and it stands to reason that Butterfree will eventually get one too, then! Might be a Gen apart or something though, like Gardevoir/Gallade.

I'm a little annoyed at Pidgeot's new ability (No Guard, apparently) - it didn't get any good abilities to start with, I know, but I suspect the main boost is going to be attack which means No Guard Hurricane won't be a particularly effective strategy - in fact, Pidgeot doesn't really get ANY moves that enjoy No Guard other than Hurricane. Coupled with the fact that Thunder will always hit against it and the fact that its BST will only go up to a relatively mediocre 579 means that I suspect Mega-Pidgeot will be the most disappointing Mega to date. It couldn't've gotten Gale Wings or Huge Power or anything like that?

Mega-Beedrill is cool though.

Agreed. Tangled Feet is the only one that's even slightly useful and it's so situational.

It's already been confirmed to be getting a Special Attack boost, amongst others.

Mostly agreed, although it's widely considered that Move Tutors will be returning properly, and it'll be nice to patch up the Heat Wave's 90% accuracy that only ever misses when you need it not to.

Coupled with the fact that Thunder will always hit against it

...along with Blizzard and Stone Edge. :'(

While I'd have preferred Gale Wings or even something more middling like Intimidate, No Guard could still find use. It's something you're not always going to be prepared for. Anything that's likely to be packing Stone Edge, Thunder etc is probably something it wouldn't be sticking around for anyway.

yessss

True, but there's also status moves like Hypnosis etc. that'll never miss poor Pidgeot. As well as the people on the battle spot that spam OHKO moves with bulky pokemon in the hope that they'll get a lucky KO.

Edit @ 18:39: Interview at USGamer confirms that Trainer Customisation is not in this game

Edit @ 20:00: It has also been confirmed in an interview with NTower that, although X & Y are compatible with Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, X & Y will not receive a patch to include the new Mega Evolutions and Primal Reversions.

Metagross looks seriously overpowered, not only is it fast and capable of taking hits but it's base attack is 145... Beedrill might actually be usable and Pidgeot has been turned into a special attacker.

Found out I had a code for the demo sitting in my email for a few weeks now haha downloading now. my favorite generation so far is been the second with gold and silver and I've never played the third gem though it seems super popular why is that what should I be looking forward to in the remakes?

Beat the main story a few hours ago and beat the post-game story, and I have got to say that all of it is amazing. It also may have the best OST yet.

I'm through Mauville in Sapphire now and for some reason the game reminds me strongly of Colosseum and XD. The music and the chimes played for almost everything (especially the Pokemon Center and the chime upon picking up an item) sound like they are recycled from the Gamecube games. Not that I'm complaining at all though about it. I really enjoy the new search feature and how it's incorporated. It feels good to find a rare Pokemon just randomly. I found a Taillow with Brave Bird and despite my desire to never use recoil moves, I jumped at the opportunity to catch it.

Just bought Alpha Sapphire today. Currently attempting (in vain) to get my 3DS to connect to the Internet in order to receive my shiny Beldum.

Should we start a new thread for OR/AS? I got Omega Ruby today, I named my Torchic ChicknRoyale.

It is the same generation though so I don't think a new thread is really necessary.

I got it today as well. Omega Ruby and Torchic. Don't forget the shiny Beldum.

I soft reset three time looking for a good nature for my Torchic but dropped that when I got a female. I haven't given her a name.

I beat the story on Monday, after 3 days of non-stop play. I'm going through trying to get every Pokemon from every route, and as many Legendaries as I can snag.

I stay in each area to catch every available Pokemon before moving on. So far I've put 4 hours and 55 minutes on the clock and I've only just got to the point where I can catch the boat to Dewford.
