I've had GT5

since it came out, but only recently really started to get into it and as far as online is concerned this is what I reckon needs tweaking and/or fixing:-
- lose the online boost and also make it so that when you set a car up in free run mode it still handles the same when in the race, as it is the cars feel less grippy when in-race. We need consistency in how the cars handle instead of dynamically changing the handling/performance characteristics mid-race... thats just insane.
- Do something about the dominance of 4wd cars, IRL round a track 4wd is not usually faster than a good rwd car.
- Lobby system is needed, so you can get a set of races going with the same people in each race instead of hoping that the same guys randomly join again. This would also cure all the waiting around.
- Make it easier to switch cars, having to go all the way back to menu to switch car is too cumbersome and awkward
- Make collisions optional, Testdrive unlimited had this right and would make collision penalties less of an annoyance in GT.
- Allow us to change the ammount of rotation the wheel uses in the in-game options - 900 degrees is way too much.. In fact just give us a specific setup page in options for the G25.
- Allow us to back up tuning templates, give us more slots or give us different slots for each track.
- In-game communication needs a massive reworking, without proper communications its difficult to make friends with people in game. We should at least be able to tell other drivers 'good race' or at least be able to say 'sorry' if we accidentally knock em off the track.
- Give us the option of having a standing start in races, the ability to get a good standing start is a very important skill for driving games.
- Allow us to use clutch with the paddles on G25 and other wheels equipped with a clutch. My gearstick broke long ago but do enjoy using the manual clutch when possible.
- Performance points... I gotta say I think the current system is gravely flawed, I can see they were trying to make the cars more equal with it, but the bottom line is that they are not and the pp system doesnt change that. Give us tuning shops like in the old GT's... that was much better.
- Allow us to adjust the volume of the wind roar, its louder than the engine on some cars and after playing a long while that white noise from the wind roar becomes tiresome, i'd rather just hear the engine and tyres please.
Other than that GT5 P doesnt disappoint, but as far as online goes they have more than a little work to do to get it right.
