No. It's just widely frowned upon. Also with recent threads and youtube videos i can see PD patching this up real quick.

No, I don't believe PD will have that work...GT5 is not a MMO and the glitch doesn't affect other people considering what you are doing.
However, I'm sure PD will fix the glitch.

There was a tweet on Kaz's twitter, that he mentioned a money bug online, so he probably meant the SS7 bug.

Will be fixed by the sound of it.

Other console devs have banned accounts due to similar glitches. You could/can get banned in Forza for credit exploits.

I enjoy the paycheck from this. Helps alleviate the sparse supply of money found in the game. Three things about it I don't enjoy though:

1. What are the chances of getting "less cheaty" things like duping back when we jump on every new exploit?

2. It's hard to find a lobby that doesn't self-destruct quickly (server overload?)

3. I like to race legitimately too, and it's a bit annoying looking at the list of active races and seeing that 70% of them are labelled something like GTR GLITCH GET CA$H NOW.

Maybe I should Twitter Kaz and see how many people will hate me...

ON-TOPIC: I would say you cannot get banned, but I have a feeling it will be patched soon.

If PD isn't already aware of the glitch then that's just pathetic.

Just checked Kaz's twitter, looks like they may not know, but a very strange thing that I found when I translated the page.

"Cheat" is like a vampire. Once you become a vampire, "I'm not bad on this side of the world" I would feel. Flight Night. By the way, this dialogue, the movie "Flight Night" What was the last scene?

Original Text:
ヴァンパイアになってしまえば「こちら側の世界も悪くないわよ」って気分になる。
ところで、このセリフは、映画「
の最後のシーンだったっけ?

EDIT: I just saw the word "cheat", that's the only reason why I posted the quote. :P

How are these chumps saying your not going to be banned for doing it? Its very possible to be banned for doing it.

It's unlikely because it's so wide spread, but its still possible. But it's there own fault for removing duping/trading/gifting, and for poor map design.

They would never ban you! OMG its just a game guys do what you want, your only cheating yourself. If your level 40 with all the cars and 20 million so what. Just race and have fun.

Don't worry about getting banned man, just keep doing it until you can't take it anymore or until it gets patched. I'm glad the glitch is there - if it wasn't for that glitch we'd have to leave our PS3s on all the time doing races with rubber bands around the controller or whatever, if you ever want to rank up more or get 20 million credits.

I dare they remove this glitch. This glitch is now the only way to get money without killing your ps3

Yeah the old PS3 doesn't live very long. Not sure about the slim. I just had my PS3 baked in the oven the other week so I won't let it grind 24/7.

the only time i've heard ppl getting banned from a Sony PS3 games is from the recent hacks from jailbroken ps3's running Black Ops, unlike Microsoft who bans anyone who glitches/mods/hacks.

my PS3 is of the "old" variety and it is 4 and a half years old.. been left on overnight and whathaveyou.. does my parents' netflix and whatever.. still runs GREAT! so yes.. they can live quite a while!

with the way PD works I wouldn't be suprised if this goes on till the later half of next week before its fixed.

I never had a problem with my 80GB fat either, it has been left on for days at a time with GT5 running. So long as you keep the dust off it and leave the ventilation open it should operate fine.

This is all done online, and it seems to me that online races are hosted on people's ps3's. I suppose PD could throw in something that would check for something like minimum lap times and phone home a replay, but I can't really think why they'd bother. After that I can't think why they'd bother banning people for it.

I'm sure it is against the PSN TOS somewhere, though.

Banning people is just a band aid reaction to a larger issue; I'm sure PD only cares about fixing the problem, not aggravating it to a PR problem by handing out citations.

I guess they could monitor the servers for glitch rooms and ban anyone who does the glitch. Or they could make it a reportable offense.
