Personnelly i dont knoe why or how hes been banned but he states he has, cant even send messages or FR's. i dont see it as a hard thing for PSN to track what we are doing as it all goes thriugh there servers so if they have the manpower [i doupt it] they can track anyone.

I get what you're saying. I dont see this a banhammer status, my personal opinion

Does he play other online games? Do you have the full story or are you making asumptions???

No assumptions he cannot get online with GT5, will advise later when ive spoken to him.

Other console devs have banned accounts due to similar glitches. You could/can get banned in Forza for credit exploits.
If PD doesn't have time to make all cars premium and put more events will they spend time banning users for using a glitch:dopey:? Just patch it:)

What PD should do is something like Valve software done in Half-life. Just Ban the copy of the game which is cheating,glitching...etc. Then you would have to buy another copy of the game to get online. Better yet, Ban the mac address of the PS3 console. That way a cheater/exploiter would have to buy another PS3 in order to get back online. Are you listening PD? :sly:

I hope it's patched immediately.

👍
Same here! I was in the online lounges last night and approx. 75% of the rooms were devoted to this exploit. Sickening when looking for a decent actual race to do against good drivers.

Can GTplanet get a 'crying your eyes out' emoticon for all the people emotionally scarred by people earning money?

This glitch does not make you a better driver, it does not help you win races online, people can have driving skill without grinding. The comparison to MMOs are not valid as you still compete against people without any automated advantage added from 'cheating'. It's not like you can cheat to added corner speed or acceleration.

I'm amazed that people would actually wish Sony/PD to brick peoples' consoles or force them to buy another copy of GT5 because PD shipped a bugged game. Nobody hacked the game to this state, this is how it comes. Shame on anyone who really wants someone to shell out hundreds of pounds/dollars/euros because they glitched some ingame credits.

seems like an aweful lot of work....remote racing might not be as quick, but i leave my bobs out there, and every morning, i get ~250K from each of 6....

I don't think they are going to ban your console. That was more of a joke. But they could ban your copy of the game requiring you to buy another copy. That would sure increase their profits! As for "Just Earning Money", some guy locally was running up behind women here and hitting them in the head with a tire iron to steal their purse. But that's ok right? He was just making money......

And I'm sure when PD patches it you will be perfectly fine with the 75% spread of races that were NASCAR and drag races like it was before the glitch was discovered.

I hope that is just a joke as well...

I don't understand why they make these glitch rooms under Free Run. I usually join Free Run/Track Day rooms, so to see an abundance of these rooms while I'm searching for a good room is really irritating. Hope it gets patched A.S.A.P.

I don't think PD or Sony will ever ban anyone for merely exploiting glitches, even if it's against the Terms of Service. If you start reverse engineering the code or the saved game to give youself more credits/xp, now that might be a different matter.

Me too. It is so annoying. The filters online are good for chooisng races to go to, but recently i want to be able to set /NOT/ SSR7. But then i would also set it to not the ring coz i hate it :p

On topic: No but i wish you did, along with duping. I am proud thst ive never duped or done the glitch, and i plan to play properly til GT6 or the day i die. Whichever is first :p

Sounds lik eyouhave missed out on all the fun then.

I birthday glitched all the 20 million cars waaaaay back in November of 2010. Duped every car that was a pain to win more than once, traded all the prize cars needed and had my first X1 in early December.

All that is left now is drive in pathetic circles on either Indy or the basement of SSR7.

This game really has that little depth to it.

You know what the greatest insult of all is, the highest payout in the game is the final race - Talk about idiotic.

The one time you NO LONGER NEED XP, you receive the single highest XP prize.

Same goes for money - by the time you are done and dont need credits any longer, you complete the 24 hours of Nurburg and receive all the cash you need.

The ONLY reason people are glitching this game is because the "career path" is the single worst career path ever to be published in a racing/driving game since Viper Racing - and at least Viper Rcing had a fantastic sound engine - the Vipers actually sounded like Vipers, not Dysan vacuum cleaners.

I dont think it would be fair to punish the players for the developers mistakes.

Dont hate the player, hate the game. The only difference between the money glitch and grinding is grinding will take you a little longer. They are both completely mind numbing. If PD had reasonable, balanced rewards for racing no one would resort to either.

In my opinion all these patches came much too late as all of the people who wanted X cars and or X amount of credits has long ago done so.

They aren't going to ban anyone, at least without some serious warning first.

This is already the most criticised GT in the series and most of the 'problems' like duping and glitching stem from a lack of play testing or quality control on PD's side. What we have is what PD sold us.
Probably because it's the most 'online' version.

I've tried to do this glitch but I get bored and just drive round. The tunnel looks weird from the outside and there are bit's of roadway that are quite detailed but you can't usually see them. I don't think people will be banned for it, what if you legitimately do a race on SSR7 and someone else uses the glitch, PD wouldn't know who was cheating. For all they know you might have just parked the car after a few spins to let someone else to it.

I second this motion

After playing a ridiculous number of games on many consoles since the mid-80's, this glitch has got to be the weakest **** I've ever seen. Yes, there are currently still credit and experience balance issues with the game, but seriously...
What a great place the world would be if everyone "took advantage" of every situation they felt entitled to.

And I'm sure when PD patches it you will be perfectly fine with the 75% spread of races that were NASCAR and drag races like it was before the glitch was discovered.

WRONGOLA!
It's never safe to assume anything. Why would you? Of course I'm not "perfectly fine" with those either, it's just that I've never commented on them to this point as I have with the SSR7 glitch. Do YOU like them clogging up the lounge? (See what I did there? asked instead of assume? Try it sometime please). Geez, gotta defend everything I say on these forums I swear.

If PD really starts banning Hundreds among thousands of individual players for this, it obviously shows that they don't care about improving the game, just fixing it each time something pops up.

What a great place the world would be if everyone "took advantage" of every situation they felt entitled to.

Issch, i don't want to desapoint you but.. everyone take advantage of every situation they felt entitled to.. thats the human nature. Unfortunetly.

And for the glitch.. its funny to say but this is a racing game.. and the people exploiting the glitch are actually racing.. 100% of the room i got in, ppl where racing to get first under the bridge and then racing to get the better lap time to finish first.. LOL

i reckon hes found out about it as well!
(oh and for those that dont know who he is well type fonejacker monies into youtube!)

I wrote this in other thread:
"I just know this: we only use this glitch because PD didn't put enough content in the game so we could efford all the cars while progressing in the game and NOT grinding like arseholes...so PD should first ban themselves...eheh"

This is so true, 1.08 just bump everyone up to 20,000,000 credits after installation as compensation for their cumulative lameness in this matter.

I think if they just bumped up the winnings some more then 75% of all the rooms in the Open Lobby wouldn't be titled "MONEY XP GLITCH" at SSR7. They shouldn't ban anyone from this, just do it while you still can.

I wonder what % didn't use the glitch ! Then how many users will not get banned ?! :scared:
If they would ban users, they must tell about it before, since nothing said yet from PD, enjoy :dopey:
