Looks like you guys missed my signup from earlier. I guess I'll sign up for D now, since C appears to be full.

Ah yeah, sorry Wii, we missed you. But no, Room C isn't full yet. We'll put you in D for now but still waiting how goes the sign up for LMP's in Room C. If spot is available, you'll join C Room ;)

Ah ok. Thanks 👍

I'm out of town till next Monday (28th) so will miss the preseason and first race...

The reason I was hesitant to go to the GT-R is because I'm scared it will be exactly like the Evora in GT4.

Frankly, I wasn't good enough to be fast with it in the corners, and had no top end to speak of to make up for it. I don't want that again, especially at Le Mans.

But now that I can actually do direct comparisons myself, that might change.

anyone have lvl 21 ticket?

RAYzRAYz
anyone have lvl 21 ticket?

I never duped mine. Sorry man :/

Is the lasted bspec seasonal race gift a lvl 21 ticket. If so just do that its rather easy plus you get a couple of mill in cash hehe

my bspec lvl 0 lol never done bspec before

Great we can't lose our resident GTA cool dude ;). Was watching the GTA USA vids in college the other day in the first day after the go karts they said on first impressions they were thinking of cutting you but then you got through in the first 3 due to your skills in the cars :).

And unfortunately it was the cars that knocked me out I believe, but not entirely my fault. Posted a 3rd place time in one event, but switching from a left hand drive car to a right hand drive car that doesn't have any brakes left apparently gives you a last place time and knocks you out. :(

Oh never got to how you got knocked out yet lol only had time for the first episode :ouch:. (I thought you lost due to health problems :()

Well it's hard to say because they don't give you times to compare with during the competition, so when you are knocked out you have no idea why. I thought it was the health problems too, but I was reassured that wouldn't be an issue. After the contest I pushed for times and got some from a couple of the events, one of which I placed in the positions stated above. Hard to run fast times in a car that had a brake pedal go to the floor when I got in it, and it never really came back. 👎

Heads up

Regulations have been updated. Please read them over and pay special attention to the new sections discussing formation lap procedure and mixed class etiquette.

As you were.

grind remote racing, they level up real quick and you can do it from your phone at work... not that I've done that ;)

If you're concerned with straight line speed. Take the Corvette. If the lack of down-force is scary, take the citroen; it's the 2nd fastest (mainly from the bonus gear, since it gets wheezy at the top end due to having the highest aero).

@ Mule : bravo for your patience! I always try ... lol

... chut lol

Not surprising. All MR cars for me in the game are exactly the same: A handful.

Not quite sure they are modeled correctly. I want to love the Lotus Elise/Exige but it's just too damn tail happy for my tastes and it ruins the fun. :(

Wow, almost all my favourite cars in the game are MR. You just need a different approach with them.

Also to me tail happy = more fun :)
Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to this whole GT5 business but this series looks epic. Will I be way out of my depth? I've read all the instructions and stuff, everything makes sense so I'm sure I can at least not screw it up for everyone else... But there's a hell of a lot of work that's gone into it! I'm seriously in awe.

What do you reckon?

Nick

There are many quite seriously fast guys here but don't let that put you off. I don't think you can screw anything up for someone else since if you're not up to pace you can't make it to room 1. You'll see where you stand when qualifying goes live, I urge you to join. 👍

Any practice rooms up anymore, or anyone up for practice?

Thats Nissan brakes for ya :sly:. They should uprate them to carbon ceramics for GTA as they don't fade :).

Still thats sad, I literally held back tears watching you on the running clutching your side :(.

Also its doubley sad you don't get a 2nd chance when others have in the euro GTA iirc.

Wanted to run a few laps myself so made a room. Join if you want.

I prefer cars to have a tad bit of understeer. I like a more solid feeling to the wheel.

Actually that was my fault, and was a mistake on my part which I wouldn't have made if I had actually known we were going to run. :indiff:

Tip: If you make it either don't eat breakfast in the morning or be very picky about what you eat. ;)

I just had a concerning question about the specs and regs. When checking drivers will you be checking HP, PP, and weight? I've noticed on some of the cars you can add the turbo then add weight to match the PP, IDK how much of an advantage this is just a concern.

Fantastic, thanks man - I'll do what I can and see how it goes!

There are people who actually like undesteer? :dunce: Live and learn.

Very mixed feelings from today's practice session. I decided to try chassis reinforcement and immediately regretted it as it added a ton of understeer. I was able to run three very good lap times in a row (earlier the first lap was always fastest and the subsequent ones not quite as fast because the tyres had already given their best) but not improve on my previous PB. Frustrated, I switched the PS3 off without saving and when I came back the changes had been reversed which made me happy at first but then I tried to do more laps again but couldn't even get near a good time though the car felt great. Sometimes making setups is really hard to fathom.

Where I'm struggling the most is the really fast downhill left hander. For all the other corners I have a hunch as to how to approach them but in this corner (Pouhon I think it's called) I'm struggling to find a good line with which I don't run wide nor do I hit the curb on the inside. I also don't have a good steady braking point for this one so it's always a bit of a gamble to get it right. Feels brilliant when you manage to just slice it without hitting the curb and then pick up the throttle early while still keeping the car inside.

Anyway, really loving this car and this combo. Spa really comes alive when you're running it with a proper purpose built car like the LMPs are. It's not a very good track for road cars but with these it feels fantastic.

Couldn't agree more, nothing better then such an epic circuit with epic cars:tup:

Not epic understeer, but a touch will do just fine. :)

Hi Harrison. Do you remember this?....
And FYI, it's not clever to use your mail address as your PSN ID.

I just had a concerning question about the specs and regs. When checking drivers will you be checking HP, PP, and weight?
We do the checks just before the green flag and before each qualifying session.

Yes you can. But guys who try to add a turbo will be immediately caught.

I'm so clueless when it comes to time zones.. UTC is the same as GMT?

Are the guys in the UK GMT +1 during the summer?
If so, I'm +2, right (Stockhom, Sweden)?

EDIT: Thought the earlier start time races was tomorrow (Saturday), but soon found out the last 2 races are held Sunday.. Can't make it.. :(

I also noticed that I could click the time to find out my local time. 👍

Hmm. I think I lucked into slapping a decent setup on the R8, because I actually like it. Not sure I like the tire wear, but I'll go more testing. The 51 Viper is almost as slow going down Kemmel as the GT-R lol. I don't like the Corvette, the Citroen or the BMW, so it's between those three.

Not epic understeer, but a touch will do just fine. :)
It also helps lower tire wear on many of these faster cars that may otherwise wears the rears down quicker.
