Race room:
Regular rolling starts will be used for today's race, here's a new guideline we whipped up for it (useful for people that haven't done rollers before)
A staggered double-file line is used for our rolling start for the first lap after which the race will begin at the pre-determined starting point.
( First time pole sitters will be contacted for confirmation of the following regulations)
- Pole sitter will be contacted on what side of the track they would prefer to start from (right or left). This detail will be posted in race specific post prior to the race (linked by clicking on the relative track box images in the OP thread).
- Even number qualifiers will always be on the second place cars lane. Odd number qualifiers will be in the pole sitters lane on the other side.
- Once the GT5 race countdown has completed and the race event has begun all drivers must hold position and wait for confirmation from the host to proceed. Use your handbrakes, sit silently, report any suspicious latency between cars or lag jolting/skipping. After the host has given the go ahead all LMP class drivers will begin to slowly form up in qualifying order while GTE cars hold still at the start line. The leader must act as herder, they must not pre-maturely advance from the group, it is their job to keep the pace slow enough until all cars are in position then proceed to formation speed.
- GTE car pole sitter will hold until the LMP group is past the first corner, at this time the GTE field may form up and begin their way up to pace speed. The GTE field leader must keep 20 seconds at least behind the leader of the LMP field.
- Even pace at 100 kmh / 62 mph,
- The LMP leader must wait for the grid to line up behind them completely on the start straight before starting the race by applying full throttle at the pre-determined track race starting mark (may not always be the regular start/finish line)
- No weaving is allowed during formation lap.
- You must not overlap the car ahead of you.
- Do not pass any car until you're past the point the pole sitter started the race at.
- Jump starters will be given warnings or penalties depending on severity.
- Race time is in effect immediately, delays do not affect race time as it will always end after one hour total race time, not one hour from the beginning of the first lap of the race.
- If a driver is damaged on formation then the damaged driver must communicate this through text chat and continue at a reasonable speed to the pit area. The other cars will continue on as normal and the damaged car(s) can join the group as they come around for their first lap. At this point the formation lap will continue on for a second lap after which the race will begin. If it happens once more, the same contingency will be applied and a third formation lap will go on. After this, no more "formation restarts" will be acceptable and the affected drivers must either retire or start far behind the group.Drivers experiencing extremely lag will be asked to leave so the other drivers can race.
- - If, for any reason, a driver misses the formation start and stays behind still on the track the race will not go on, it must be restarted to eliminate the obstacle.
Spa track boundaries:
Red and white rumble strips are track, gutters, greencrete, poly, is not. Keep two wheels on track if during your qualifying lap you over-step this guideline you must forfeit the lap by reducing speed for a reasonable time and continuing on to your next lap in the special non-standard pre-season group qualifying method we're using.
Qualifying:
The track must be reset before the times 15 minute session begins at 19:45 UTC. Qualifying start delays may be used but not preferably.
The qualifying session will be concluded at a total time according to the in-game HUD clock ( join track grace period) that will be detailed in the race room before qualifying begins.
After the session is completed the host will announce it and let every one know to complete their laps and then park in the pits, do not change settings at this point (be sure to use race trim for qualifying) or your lap will be invalidated.
The host will back out to spectator mode to record times and positions(picture or notes for archive and confirmation).
The host will rejoin the track then begin the race session.
Race:
1 hour.
No pit windows.
Be considerate, this race is more for testing our series, getting comfortable with new drivers and confirming the fun

Mixed Class Etiquette
To best prepare each driver for mixed class racing, always keep a few key things in mind.
Slower class cars have full right to the racing line. They are never obligated to "move over" for an approaching faster class car. In-fact it's favorable for the slower car to hold the usual racing line as if the faster car wasn't even around. This makes the slwoer car predictable and in effect much much easier for the faster cars to overtake cleanly. When a slower car is in a group of class traffic, faster class cars must be extra careful or face penalties. It is the job of the faster car to overtake without disrupting the lower class race.
Faster class cars must exercise patience in mixed class overtaking situations. It is not the job of the slower class to facilitate overtaking. The faster car must let the slower cars run their track and overtake only when it's most efficient for both parties. When hot on the tail of a slower class car going into the Laguna Seca Corckscrew, chances are that waiting until the last turn to pass will be most beneficial; for example.
When approaching slower class cars in a group of fellow class drivers patience is paramount. The one defense move per lap rule is still in effect, and do not attempt to overtake a slower class car while on pit entry.
Race Timing
Races are ended by time, not lap count. The leader of the LMP1 class will end the race by crossing the line for the last time once the pre-determined race time has been passed. He will then immediately slow down to type out the words “checkered flag”.
Any drivers who had started their current lap before the leader crosses the finish line (“on the lead lap”

may complete that last lap. Anyone finishing between the time the leader finished his lap and the waving of the checkered flag are done. Winners and positions will all be confirmed after the race.
Race start line:
It will not be the finish/lap timer line!
The race will begin after the first turn (La Source) down at the line underneath the Total banner sign on the second leg pit straight.
However the race winner will end his race by crossing the finish/lap timer line after the chicane.
Qualifying begins in thirty minutes.
Note: the PD GT5 servers may be experiencing a high load due to the number of drivers on line today voyaging the Nurburgring in tribute to the currently running 24HR race. Expect some to be frustrated :/ But there's always tomorrow, then next week
