It's available in Europe already? Wow, I'm getting on this.

[EDIT] Correction - Wow, I'm listening to Porter Robinson about five or six times. Time to put the tea on.

Just a heads up guys, after you finish downloading the rally pack do not purchase any of the new rally cars until you've completed the first rally event (qualification). I now have two Evo VIII MR :embarrassed:

Same thing happened to me.

No visual upgrades for the other cars is a bit of a missed opportunity, even if it was only lights. They've managed to make an awful generic front and rear wing for every car, why not generic lights or snorkel?

Quick tip for wheel users, I found normal steering far to twitchy so I went with simulation steering with 900 degrees of rotation with drift set at 3

Downloaded and played it earlier..its really good! there are 7 rallies with 4 stages each with a rally final..ive done 4 rallies so far..using a Mitsubushi Evo XI..

It would have been nice to see the new Dodge Dart and Dodge Dart Rally car from the Global Rallycross series. It'd just be nice to have five of those cars from the Global Rallycross series period instead of these five cars from FM4. I know Horizon is not FM4, but I just feel like once again these are all cars we should have already had. I'm not really diggin' the rally expansion pack either. Seems like it will get boring quick. There just isn't enough content included that is worth $20. Again, more content that should have been included in the original release in my opinion. Horizon probably would have been worth the $60 if it included the rally pack, but it's definitely not worth $80 to me. Again, just my opinion, but I'm sure it will be fun while it lasts.

I didn't know the Evo XI existed yet

Just downloaded it and gave the first stage a go, I still have a vivid feel for the old Colin McRae rally games and the rally pack feels too "sticky" I've only used a B Class car, so maybe a bit moar power will loosen the cars up

I'm just going to offer my opinion on this and say I'm quite satisfied with the rally expansion.

I've read some posts on FM.net saying the mini-carrer mode is two hours long at best, but honestly the new races and just a bonus for me. I've had Horizon since release and I'm only 44% done. So judging from my playing habits with the main game I'm probably going to take my sweet time with Horizon Rally as well and enjoy it for much longer than two hours. The thing that interests me the most about the pack are the new cars it came with and especially the rally upgrades. I'm really interested to see how different cars will behave with them, especially cars that weren't intended to race off road to begin with. My only disappointment with the pack is no visual rally body parts for the cars that already came with the game, but I'm willing to look past it.

@JustChyllan: Yes, you can use the rally pack cars in free roam and yes, they do have rally visuals for them.

Just to clarify, the only really upgrades to current garage cars are mechanical, and the rally pack cars start manufacturer stock and have rally visuals available?

In an odd way I think it's awesome that you haven't beaten the game already. I got this game on release day and was surprised about how fun it was (hence why beat Darius within a week of release). So far I think the rally pack is pretty good, I just wish the rally map incorporated into the original map.

On another note, what has been the best rally car for you guys so far? For me I'd have to say the Toyota Celica GT-Four RC ST185. From the autoshow it's a D-class car but with some upgrades it's a beast in either A or B class rally races.

Hey guys, I think I am about to purchase the rally pack (picked up the game on sale for $15, so I don't feel so bad...).

Just have two questions...

Is rally integrated into multiplayer in ANY way?

How long are the stages?

Yes there appears to be online rally pack achievements including rivals

The stages are actually longer than I expected, a good 5 odd minutes on some

Are there actually multiplayer races though?

"Players will test their driving mettle with new multiplayer rally events, leaderboards, and Rivals challenges..."

I know it says that... but we all know how that goes. Just want confirmation before pulling the trigger.

One achievement is ' Win 10 Rally stages in online multiplayer' so I would say its properly integrated but I haven't tried yet

I've always wanted the escort to come with the body parts it does in the rally pack, just about to buy my second one :D

From the vids I have seen so far, the roads look immensely wide with barely any twisties in them. How do you guys feel about the stages, are they just super fast straights with bumps and jumps and the occasional turn here and there?

Only the cars that come with the pack get the rally visuals and they come totally stock, and literally every car in the game gets the rally suspension, transmission and tires.

I love Lancias and the 037 was a favorite in FM4, but it's not the best in this situation. You really need AWD. For me, the Mitsu and Subie are best. I tried all five cars and ran all the way through the championship, and those are the two I kept going back to.

Some are, but even more are twisty courses with plenty of elevation changes.

What I find interesting about the courses is that they are all built on the skeleton of the regular free roam map. They did not build new roads, they redressed the existing roads with all new surfaces, trees, rocks, grass, ect, They made the roads narrower and much more bumpy. Lots of jumps and dips. Bridges are now made of wood. The tunnels going out to Finley Dam are made of rotting timber. Things like that. And that's why it doesn't connect with the free roam map. It IS the free roam map in new clothes.

As others have noted, the various rallys have four stages each, and you race agains the same 20+ cars. Just like a real rally, your total time determines your finishing position overall. I did pretty poorly running the various stages, only managing a second place in one. The rest I didn't podium, even finishing as low at 16th overall. But once I finally got into the championship, I finished first in the first three stages and second in the final to win it. I think it's only because it was run around the Clear Springs area on roads I was already familiar with.

I honestly don't know if I'm going to go back and race it any more. I feel like I got it, I raced it, I'm done with it.
