Were you already used to fast race cars with grippy tires?
In my case I had to retrain my mind a bit because I was used to ~450PP cars with comfort soft or sports hard tires at most.

I drive all cars from 120bhp to F1 cars... But this one my worst experience ever tbh... I dunno if it was a good lap, but the car was crap...

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so! At least you managed a lap...

After about 20 minutes wrestling with the beast I finally managed to get a 1.19.xxx. I thought it would be a nightmare to drive that thing but much to my surprise I kept it pretty much on the road and planted.

Then I thought I could drive even better with RS and tried the Vettel challange but it seemed different, the car felt worse with RS and I spun more than usual. In both time trials I used the same settings, noting on but ABS 1 and driving line. Well... no way I`m doing that anytime soon nor do I enjoy driving the X2010.

Just wish I had new cars to spend that 5 mil. on:boggled:

As much as I love a good feat of engineering, if it's unrealistic I am not going to enjoy it... stupid levels of grip, fantastic design, stupid accln, top speed is okay I suppose... But 5,000,000 credits for a sub 90 second lap... Probably the ONLY time imma use the car...

Just got a 1:09 with a scruffy lap. the gold should be about 1:10 instead of 1:25.

This is what I got as well, and got ranked at the 3000th marks. Also got the 5 million, so that removed some grinding time.

Easy Money and there ain't nothing wrong with that. Great way to celebrate Vettel's win.

..

it's unrealistic

Proof?

Anyway, too bad this event isn't repeatable. Anyone having trouble getting gold and using a controller, set your controller sensitivity higher. Driving with it set to zero is insanity, the car just doesn't respond.

This is good for a stupid amount of credits. Too bad I've done 1.08's at 75-85% trying to do the SV challenge. Score.

I really don't have the time to go into the proof, but I will say this... by unrealistic I didn't mean that the car cannot exist as such, but that the tires on the car would be have been shredded, no human could withstand the forces acting on him and would subsequently be killed or serverely injured, and even if there was some sort of human that could withstand it, the car would be impossible to drive in real life due to the reactions required, coupled with the forces, vibrations, unexpected problems etc... That's what I meant by unrealistic.
From an engineering standpoint, the Aerodynamics and the Engine is phenomenal...

Dang it. After I finally beat the Vettel challenge, I swore I would never drive one of these again. But that 5 mil sounds nice. Guess I'll come out of retirement and give it another go.

I watched most of the race last night but fell asleep. I guess it just wasn't as exciting as the V8 Supercars at Bathurst that was on right before that. That was one of the best finishes I've seen in a long time btw.

Well people have survived worse, ie fighters, stunt planes; and lateral g's are easier to take than vertical. People do have the reaction speed to drive it, as seen by everyone who has driven it in game and set lap records with it. However, this does not account for the off condition factors, like vibration, that you brought up. The tires are also a good point, especially since GT cannot simulate extreme tire stress or failure. Unexpected problems may or may not exist, and it's certainly possible that they could be fixed.

yay easy money~!
people should stop complaining what the gold lap time should be, x1 challenge is for that. this is for vettel's jp win. *throws confetti*

Trust me, fighter pilots and stunt pilots don't have to cope with some of the g-forces I see here... But I get your point. I think in a sim I'd say yes, it's completely possible, but not in real life... But you bring up good points... perhaps I should do a bit of research on this car in the Engineering department where I study...

I did 1:12:1xx and was proud of myself and than I saw times ~1:03... my god, you are damn cyborgs :D

Took a few runs with my DS3, ended up getting 1:21 as my best but I didn't want to do it anymore. Messed up a few times but I could have easily gotten better if I wasn't so nervous to mess up =P

Did a 1:20 with my 2nd lap, and that was going very conservatively, could probably go much quicker but can't be arsed, hate this car, but thanks for the cash!

1:07 was my first clean lap when I got used to the Red Bull again. 1:05.1 now, I can beat the top guy through the first 2 corners but still losing 0.8 in the first sector. I'm having to think about starting braking about half a second before I do it.

Away to go and claim my 5mil. Hate the car but will certainly enjoy spending the winnings cha-ching!

did a few runs even at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle its possible i got about 1:22 ....

current top for those who havent seen it yet is

1:03.462 with a wheel the top ds3 is 15th place with 1:04.110

I spun twice and beat bronze. First clean lap was a 1:15. I was around 16,000 in the rankings. Won't be back cause I hate the X1. Bought me another Zonda with the cash though!!

I can't drive the X2010, I'm hopeless with it, but even I got gold on this, with a 1.15 lap. If I'd known it was going to be that easy I would have wasted some money in the OCD as I already had over 19million in credits. It was good fun though.

Easy for just about anyone (especially if you've already tried the RB/Vettel challenge).

I don't consider myself that good of a driver - got 1:17 on my first lap taking it easy, and 1:09 after a couple more tries. I'm content with top 5000 :)

This was so hard with a ds3 but after a few laps I got the hang of it and it's pretty much free money. Just remember to go slow. Got 1:17.xxx and am in 25000 spot haha

I definately appreciate the event. Thanks for the X1 and Credits! Thought it was too easy. I'm not very good with the X1 and first lap i got a 1.09, 1.25 is way too easy for gold. Should have been at least 1.10 for gold. In addition to this event and the free red bull X1. They should give us 5 free Red Bull paint jobs for other cars!!!!!!!👍
