Where can I meet up with him? I want the rewards those missions give you before moving on with Landon Ricketts missions.

Do the Ricketts missions first as they are mostly glorified tutorial missions. DeSanta is the "D" on the map, in a mansion behind the village.

The easiest way to get money for me at least is hunting and selling, i just got the " earn $10,000" trophy, most of which is from hunting and I'm not very far into the Mexico part of the story. Also do the treasure hunts, there are 3 in New Austin and they are fairly easy money, they also are a good way to learn the land.

Anyways, I just got the Bolt Action Rifle, the thing made an Armadillo vanish into thin air.

Nightwatch and Bounty hunting is profitable if you capture instead of kill. Though I realise it might be too tempting for you Yanks to not shoot ;) ;)

Nightwatch is awesome and very easy. The last one I did, Charlie spotted two guys fighting and took off for them. As I ran up, both appeared as red dots on my radar. I lassoed one and while I hogtied him, the other one started shooting Charlie. I quickly came to his rescue and hogtied him too. Then, Charlie 'went to town' on his ass. He barked, then growled and while he was doing that, the bad guy has cussing and yelling very angriy. Soon, his anger went into screaching cries of pain! Charlie was mauling his ass! LOL He sounded like a 'stuck pig!' LMAO!

The whole time walking back to get my monies, Charlie was letting him have it! I was laughing my ass off and thinking, "Get'm, boy! Sick'm, boy! Good Charlie!"

'went to town' means something so different in Blighty

It could mean that too, here in the US. "I went to town on some porterhouse steaks, since they were free." "I went to town on that hot girl I met at the bar last night!" "That guy pissed me off so much, I soon went to town on his face with my fists!"

S'more questions...

I just reached "hero" status and a 'sister' walked up to me and gave me a cross pendent. It says that enemies shots will miss me more. Cool.

However, what are the benefits of Hero status? I know I read it somewhere, but can't remember. I thought it was I can commit any crime short of murder and nobody will report me nor a lawman come after me. True?

What's the best way to increase my fame? I'm still way behind compared to my honour status, which is at max. I read duels without killing the guy helps, but every time I tried it, I got killed. How do I not kill when I duel?

Also, I love Thieves Landing. The whores are very dirty there and say some nasty things. The conversations are the best, too.

I witness something odd. A cougar attacked a man and woman. The woman dies. The man cries, takes out his gun, shoots himself in the head. Whoa.

Also, I wish somebody told me to keep all types of flowers and all my feathers. So guy needed my flowers, and it took a while to get him some. Next, now some guy needs Red Sage and a bunch of feathers and now have to find them all over again. So, what else should I keep?

Yes, they will not report you until the first murder, although beware I believe they will report you still if you kill one of their animals.

Do missions and help strangers.

As for duels, shoot the gun out of his hand to win without killing them.

Side Note: I'm really getting sucked into the storyline now, I'm actually focusing on it instead of randomly hunting.

I killed some goats and right in front of a lady and nothing happened. It was right after I got my hero status.

Oh, and you said they wont report me until my first murder? That means, once I commit my murder, they'll report me for all my other crimes, or from now on?

Do missions and help strangers.

It's easier said than done. I need to help a guy who is stuck at the bottom of a mine. When I get to the bottom, two guys ambush me and I cannot shoot them first. I died three times and quit, until I get some dynamite. Other guy needs feathers, beaver skins (haven't shot one yet) and some red sage which I have just one of right now. Another wants me to beat a guy at Liar's Dice in Thieves. I'm way far from there. You can see why I'm having trouble with Fame. It's very time consuming to complete, compared to Honor.

As for duels, shoot the gun out of his hand to win without killing them.
Again, easier said than done. I can't do it. I aim for his gun, but he starts to draw and it's hard to paint it until I fill my bar up. How many times do I need to target it?

Best way to get Fame is do missions, once you get close do the rest with Duels. There's no massive oh my god bonus from having maximum fame.

Played this quite a bit over the weekend and I think I beat the main part of the campaign.

I beat the main enemy and now I am back with my family. But I am just doing little missions to train my son and the rest of the time I hear my wife complain. Am I done with the game or is this just the next step in the career???

You're not at the end of the story yet Camaroboy.

Ok I was going to say.. thats a strange ending but it looks like I probably have a ways to go.
My status said 55% finished but it just seemed like the game ended and then well didnt really end. lol This part of the game has been VERY boring.

The part you're on is actually my favourite part of the whole game.

Remember that completion percentage isn't only just the story, it's all the side activities aswell, so it won't be 100% when you finish the story.

Right. Thats why I thought I might be done with the main part of the story. It seems like what I am doing right now is just "side" missions. The entire game has been quite boring to me so far. It was fun collecting animals and stuff like that at first but now its hard to keep playing this game.

All missions where you have to go to an initial on the map (e.g. 'B' for Bonnie MacFarlane at the start of the game) are story missions.

I picked the game up thursday and I completed the story yesterday (after staying up two nights in a row due to the addictiveness. :p)

May Contain minor spoilers, I'll hide the big ones if there are any.
=========
The game is flat out amazing, I have to say. One of the best stories I've seen in a game to date.

At the beginning I didn't have that much regard for the story, since it seemed slow-going and my only motivation was shooting people. However once I got out of Fort Mercer, and headed into Mexico, the song "Far Away" began to play as I got on the horse, and the game became something much more than a simple shoot-em-up western. Realizing John had been taken far away from his home, sent back into lands he didn't want to be in, and separated from his family, with the promise of harm to them if he didn't come through. At that point I was cheering John on to finish the missions in Mexico and get this thing overwith.

The ending was suprising, even though I had already read up on spoilers, I didn't know to expect such a moving and heroic end to a great character. Then after killing Ross, the title screen revealed to me that the game is as much of a telling of Jack's redemption as John's.

Jack as a playable character, like many have said before me, is annoying, I can understand why they did it, and it was really cool to be on the other side of a tutorial mission for once. The main thing for me is the voice, the fact that John can say the same dialog for 40 hours and it never gets annoying, but within 10 minutes of Jack saying the exact same things as his father, you resort to parking him on train tracks and running off cliffs :p

Who else, after the ending, turned Jack into a evil character? I've had a time just going around to different towns, commiting a crime, then just shooting all the law enforcement and people firing back (I still have a clean save from before I did this, however :p).

I bought the 4 songs off the soundtrack that had lyrics, as I found all of them amazing, and I've been listening to them whilst writing this post :p

From,
Chris.

^ I did the same thing at the end, but to get the Dark Horse (Dishonor).
After the main story is over and you have plenty of money and weapon, there's really no need to stay good.

More after ending stuff
Jack has actually started to grow on me as a character, I used to like most of us find him quite irritating and although he'll never be as cool as John (which I think is a good thing) as I've worked my way towards 100% completion he has grown on me more and more to the point I no longer find him annoying at all really. Maybe I was to quick to judge him but I have no issues staying with him now.

This.
His voice is just annoying and his default outfit sucks

Everytime he says "workyedamnnag" I have the desire to run him over with an oil tanker or something equally heavy.

They should patch in an option to switch, I don't care about canon

Ok NOW I beat the main storyline. Game is just boring the heck out of me and the ending was kinda meh but expected. They need to release those co-op missions because I am getting very bored of this game.

I am now scratching my head. I finished the main story last week and all I had left was the one herb collecting mission where you collect 10 of one and 2 of all the rest. I did that and got the legend of the west outfit and all and that was all I had left to do in the game but it says 90.4 percent complete? There aren't anymore missions, I have done all of the side missions also unless the "nightwatch" missions type deals count towards the percentage complete? I have only done 3 of those because they are so boring to do, but if they count then I guess I will have to do them. Can someone that has 100 percent complete let me know what I am missing here?

Have you finished all the strangers, gang hideouts and outfits?

57 Missions, 18 Strangers (curiously one doesn't count), 14 Outfits, 20 different (split 8,8,4 in the regions) Bounties, 6 different minigame types won, 5 different job locations, discover all 94 areas and complete all 4 challenge sets. I think that's just about everything except 5 rare weapons, 7 gang hideouts and 13 safehouses. You can get a checklist if you link to the social club and head on there but mine never updated so I just did the stuff manually and got my 100%.

If you want to make it easier aswell, instead of going to all the locations you can just buy and use very location map from the in-game shops.

I just bought the maps as I went anyway, definately a good tip 👍

Same goes for other things, for example doing the outfit challenges gets the job locations and minigames done for the most part so focus on the outfits rather then doing the minigames randomly.

Checklist

Story Missions (57)
Stranger Missions (18) (I know You doesn't count toward 100%)
Bounty Locations (20) (locations, not name)
Rare Weapons (5)
Challenges (4)
Mini-Games (6) (compete and win)
Player Houses (13)
Job Locations (5)
Outfits (9)
Gang Hideouts (7 for Xbox, 8 for PS3)
Map Locations (94)

Go to Options/ Stats to check which one you miss.

I finished the game and trying to do the Social Club Challenge: Pike's Basin but can't seem to get it activated. When I get there, talk to the rancher and start killing 3 guys in one Dead Eye burst and get nothing. Is it a glitch???
