Do you all remember the little piece reported on GTPlanet about GT's Deep Forest Raceway perhaps being inspired by that old race track in Iowa called Greenwood Raceway? Well, Greenwood Raceway is up for download for rFactor! Check it:

http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?id=Greenwood Roadway

Hope I've treated you all, saying that today is Halloween. ;) I haven't played rFactor... or any other game in a long while. So I can't say I've tested this course. I just wanted to offer this deal on Greenwood Raceway.

I am trying to get the hang of the AIW CamFile Editor to edit grid spots on a track to no avail... anyone handy with this stuff?

The DRM modding Team today announced that the highly anticipated DRM-Revival MOD V3.0 will not be released for rFactor and rFactor2.

The DRM modding Team explains that in their view, the modding community has changed allot, in the last few months, and modding ethics seem to be at an ultimate low.
Because of the recent negativism and so called trolling in the comments sections of various sites, and the fact that the DRM Mod has been ripped and converted to just about every platform such as GTR2, Race07, GTR Evolution and GTL, The DRM Modding team has decided to cancel the planned releases for ISI's engine(s) and that they will only resume work when a more secure platform arrives.

Further more the team explains that new trends such as PayMod's do discourage them and that the recent tolerance of these projects make it seem as if the current sim/modding community no longer appreciates the work and time put in a free mod. In there own words... "Payware mods, content theft and the likes have left us speechless."

The DRM Modding team will be on the lookout for a usable platform that will have a more reliable modding, graphics, physics and support section. The inclusion of an encrypted file system would be a benefit. For now the DRM V3.0 mod will become a private project.

Well... Thats a shame

Jordan give me a dislike button now 👎

Pathetic. I was on F1Classic, there's a guy who's been creating his own Le Mans 13 mod, someone tried to be an ass and tell him basically he wasn't good enough. Then next guys lines up and has a go at him for releasing it as a bug test beta, saying its a waste of a free download! Peoples attitudes stink.

Tenner says Virtua LM now pull the eternal Group C mod...

Why does it seem like people are reluctant to get behind modding for rF2? I've heard that the company isn't really helping modders out by making the system very clear, but that just doesn't seem good for the longevity of their business if that's the case.

Rfactor 2 is fast becoming amazing, it had a really really really slow start but they are making progress with it now. It doesn't disapoint me that developers are abandoning Rfactor 1, there had to be a time when the next generation takes over. But to pass on RF2? Hmm, Rfactor 2 is in my opinion the overall leader in terms of physics, it also has pretty decent graphics now too. Assetto Corsa is obviously an attractive platform too, but we don't know enough about it and we have no idea about a release date.

I'd like to see mod developers get behind both Assetto Corsa and Rfactor 2 to provide a healthy future for the genre. ISI are an extremely important developer in the simracing world and third party mods are vital to the sales of their game.

Though I would love ISI to licence out their physics engine to games developers.

Here's a fun race I did at Emerson Fittipaldi Speedway for 40 laps using the CART Factor 1998 Mod. I didn't expect to win the race at considering the strength of the field. I did some editing to the A.I. in the .PLR file to make them faster and more consistent. I also reduced the accidents they have. I'm using no assists, of course.

What did you alter in the .PLR file?

I editied the, A.I. Brake Power usage, A.I. Brake Grip Usage, A.I. Limiter, A.I. Mistakes and, A.I. Realism. Recently I learned that if you got to the .HDV and adjust the AIMinPassesPerTick value to 10 from whatever value it is the A.I.'s susp. model is updated faster and they notice you on track more. Only draw back is they get alot faster, lol. Oh, I also edited the Feelers in the .HDV file so the A.I. detects you and other A.I. faster. I use stock ISI values from the rf3 or Formula ISI. Edit* I also forgot to say i made changes to the .tbc of cart factor because the A.I. had too much grip so i lowered the A.I.Grip Mult. to make it a bit more fair.

A quick 12 lap race around Mount Panorama(NFSS2U Ver.)using the BES mod. I qualified 3rd in the white Porsche GT3. I pretty much ran away with it though, they were much faster during quali. Either way it was fun.

Been a bit dead around here? Just gone back into RF and picked up the fabulous EnduRacers 3.1 expansion.

Also been playing about and come up with realistic damage files for mods which mean AI won't pit after a small tap, if anyone wants to know, just leave a message here :)

There's a 3.1 update? That's new to me. Anything hugely different in it, or just minor stuff?

Awesome. Only thing I'm abit curious about is how this will affect the other car models I've already downloaded for enduracers (which are mostly the same cars).

Overwrites 2.1 I believe. There is also a fix for an error with the ASton martins.

In other news, i've successfully modified my entire Enduracers set up with individual series RFM's for WEC, Le Mans 24, USCR, ELMS, and added GT3 cars to the mod straight from Blancpain. Also managed to adjust all damage files to make it more realistic, and got given a file that switches on all lights be default like in real life (does NOT affect FPS :D).

So yeah, pretty busy.

Sounds like a great mod! Are you going to publish it?

None of it is actually my mod, other than damage files. I'll publish a guide though to the damage files soon if you so wish however :) , also been exploring the PLAYER file.

Decided against the GT3 cars now in my semi-real USCR - thinking LMP2 from 2009-2012, with GTE class as support. Working to a 40 car grid. I found a Daytona Road course (the SSCA version) which has both chicane layouts. If you've played Gran Turismo 5 and noted the differing chicane layout from the one used in real life you'll get what I mean. Unfortunately EnduRacers is also getting heavier and heavier on my machine for loading and CTDs, so might re install the old SCC 3.1 (ALMS 2001/2002/2003) mod and work from there.

Where can I find this? Been looking for a more recent and much more decent Daytona as the one I currently have is abit inaccurate.
