DNF, what happened?

Ran into a glitch during the driver swap unfortunately. Made the car undriveable and I eventually put it into the wall and lost both front wheels.
We were 50 seconds ahead of the rest of the field at the time. :(

Ah that sucks, but at least it was completely out of your hands and you didn't upset anyone else's race I guess. Better luck next time!

Those dam dirty glitches have it in for us all gogatrs - you must have been really frustrated with that, bad luck. :ouch:

Looked at the Hillclimb GT Ace. Loving the chicanery and the cones and ticker tape on the route give it lots of erm, character. Looks pretty scary (in a good way) thrashing your way between the trees. Looking forward to having a crack at it when finished 👍

I don't post here very often as there are so many good posters on here who always beat me to what I want to say

I mostly follow the GT5, GT Seasonal Events forums and the PCars and rFactor posts. I got in to rFactor rather late (about 4 months ago) and am getting back to it soon (2 months of endless work interrupted things). My laptop won't cope well with rF2 I suspect so I will probably get to the sequel in about 4 years when I get a new one

My IT skills are pretty non existent other than spreadsheets and documents so I cannot contribute with new tracks or such, but try to give thumbs up on here or on Youtube where I can.

Many posters on here who I enjoy reading, too many to mention here, but i always find neema_t 's posts interesting and noticeably they are always positive to other people's thoughts and contributions and also I enjoy Mac K's contributions from the other side of "the pond" and never grow tired of seeing bagbuzz's avatar (hope I got that right).

Quality forum all round which is why it's the homepage on my laptop (can't say fairer than that) :sly:

@sirjim: Thank you! Although, as you've seen on YouTube (thanks for the nice comments there), I already changed the chicanes slightly to something more realistic. The newest, more narrow version is pretty exciting to drive though.

For everyone who hasn't seen it on YouTube:

That looks excellent! How much more is there to do? I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Thanks guys.

There's still a lot to do, the complete materials will get some work (hopefully) and I have someone, who will film the real world location for me. So it's likely that I will edit the part at the start to the crossing a lot (there's no footage in the whole web from this road). Then there are also some details I have to change (trees too close to the track and stuff like that).

Oh man! Hate to read this guys! I'm sure you both gave it your all and congratz on a great effort! I was looking forward to see a win from you guys, suck to see it taken away by some damn glitch...

Just got a chance to watch this. It looks amazing!

Just began to rediscover the WSC 1970 mod. Oh how I love it.
Just completed the entire 1970 tour including the Targa Florio.

I just installed a few mods. The WSC1970, F1 1975, CART 1998, and Can-Am. Every time I go to load a new track, the game crashes. It also crashes of I do the regular default series like SR Grand Prix and stuff. Why is that? I'm reinstalling now.

Try creating a new rFactor root folder for each mod.
And DON'T EVER EVER EVER use All Tracks and Vehicles.

Just had a pretty good raceconnect WSC 1970 race using the S5000 Class (917s etc). Had a ridiculously awesome start made up 5 positions and then some guy drove right across me in T1. Took himself out.

You don't need a new install for every mod, only for some like HistorX. I have seperate installs for different car classes and eras. Only my HistorX, F1 2011 and StockCar Sim Racing mod have their own root folder.

EDIT: Thanks by the way for your nice comment on the last page! :)

They say its because I'm not an admin but I am. And how do you do that? Just call it WSC and put it where?

Make a fresh install of rFactor/rFactor Lite and then install WSC into that folder.
Create the install on your desktop.

You may want to try copying and pasting your rFactor Install onto your desktop if you're having administrator issues.

Just install it again in a new directory.
Let's say you have rFactor in D:\Programs\rFactor and want to install HistorX, you install the game itself again in D:\Programs\rFactorHistorX, then you have two rFactor installs.

No no, not in the same place, two seperate installs from rFactor. You can install games as often as you want, as long as you keep the directories seperated.

Well the default series crash too...so can't is be a different problem. I don't see how doing a separate install will help at all. Sorry, I'm PC challenged.

Install rFactor a second time on your desktop and try to run the default series. Tell us what happens.

Oh! I get it!! And do this for certain mods? So do I just make a new folder in a Seperate place and copy/paste all the original files over?

EDIT: Ok. I reinstalled it...on accident and now it works. But whenever I load any traxk, it goes to Toban. Should I make a second install?

Nitro, watch this video, it should explain everything.

With Toban beige the only track that loads, are you trying to run a season? Or is that a Test Session or Race Weekend?
Again, don't use All Tracks and Vehicles.

I don't use All Tracks and Vehicles, and I tried both race weekend and season. Toban still only loads. And basically I just download rFactor lite, then duplicate it every time?

Pretty much, yes. Reinstall a track then see what happens. That may fix the Toban issue.

I forgot how to install tracks. I haven't played this in months. Dont I just drag over the files?
