The line up: MIH & Talentless

Race deadline: February 4th.

Car: Nissan Razö Silvia (Arcade Car)
Track: Grand Valley
Modification: ASM & TCS = OFF
Mode: Arcade Mode / Hard / 5 laps

I've run 6 laps in free run mode today to get to know the car a little.

Fastest laptime: 1.54.175

Will start with the Arcade race tomorow.

How you guys get quick times in so few laps always amazes me. Well, Im not far off. Were my comments useful?

Yes, they were useful, especially because i've never driven this car before.

Good, I take a 5 percent advisors fee.

Allright.

Let's see: 5 percent of nothing.
Hmm....... Cash ok with you, T?:p

Your tab has started.

What speed are you at on the corner before the second tunnel? Can you manage 75 (120/121 kmh) or over?

You mean the left-hand corner between the two tunnels?

Yeah, usually 120 km/h. Not too fast, so i can stay on the inside of the corner and gain a good starting speed, take the next right-hand corner at full speed and accelerate onto the straight over the bridge.

Well, I'm not so fast through there. But've not mastered the corner. and i have the understeer curse. some racers bear the burden, like the chains on jacob marley.

but've? oo, a new word and a messed up contraction at that. Oh, I hope I am doing England proud, lotus.

Try to hit the curbstone with your left seide almost halfway through the corner.
The curbstone will pull your car a little bit to the left. This way you can take the corner a little bit faster.

curb stone?

oh, we call it the rumble strip. now accept americani.. i mean globilization and call it the rumble strip. i was wondering if there was some magic stone, like the blarney stone.

Allright, if it makes you happy:

The rumble strip.

You happy now??

nope. but then again, i never am.

Your use of the English language astounds me T, you should get a knighthood for that word alone :odd: :p ;)

Garsh!

My first attempt:

Lap 1: 2.01.554
Lap 2: 1.54.683
Lap 3: 1.53.739
---------------------
Total: 5.49.976

:odd: 5 lap race not 3 MIH :p also make sure you have the asm/tcs OFF :trouble:

Ill try this one out myself during the week :irked:

:dunce:
5 laps it is.

damn the peugeots and escorts, i'm trying to get a clean first lap. oh, and i absloutely can not take the turn between the first tunnels at 79, no way. every ****ing time, why can't that escort driver stop getting in my way?!

69-73 i guess. like i've said, i've the understeer curse. actually, i'm having a crappy time. my first laps are near 2:04 and my best are 1:55.5s no, i really don't know why.

sometimes i really hate my life.

I must say that i rather like this car. A bit slow for a race car, but very nice handling. I don't have much understeer. But what causes your understeer then?

Actually, there isn't much understeer, just enough that the car will not turn tightly enough to legally clear the corner at 120k. But I also do not know your line either. If you were to take a sharp turn at 55 with no lifting, the car naturally sliding, I would scrape the corner at 45, tires sticking too much. But, I'm staying in this, I'll just be complaning about the seeming inconsistencies.

Had time for a spin around GV. This is the best one of two attempts. 100%clean.

Lap 1: 2.01.621
Lap 2: 1.53.692
Lap 3: 1.54.067
Lap 4: 1.53.954
Lap 5: 1.54.125
---------------
9.37.409

I think a low 1.53 or even a high 1.52 should be possible with a little more practise. I've got the weekend off, so i will have plenty of time to race then:)

T, have you done some races? Are your understeer problems gone away?

no, been busy.

i suppose part of my problem is that i punish, yes the correct word is punish, my controller. i've done it enough that its case pops. :)
