Sorry to answer so late, but yes, I finally got their CD "Final Straw". To be honest, I didn't think I'd like it that much. Since getting it couple of days ago, I've been listening to it non-stop(OK, I've been listening to the new INXS in between). I'd think they have more CDs out, I wonder if those CDs are as good or better?.........

Has anybody heard their new album, "Eyes Open"? I got mine just couple of weeks ago, and I must say Snow Patrol CDs are weird experiences for me.

When I heard their "Final Straw" CD for the first time, I thought they were OK, but really couldn't get into it. I hear a song or two on the radio from that CD months later, I really like them, so I finally buy the CD. From then on, it was one of those CDs that I listened to non-stop.

"Eyes Open", I bought it, but thought, "this is just OK"....... at first. Few days passes by, I'm thinking I wasted $9.77, but still pop it in the car CD player, here & there. Right now, it is almost reaching that, "non-stop" phase. I can feel it. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anybody else liked this CD.

from the final straw I only like "run" and "spitting games", that's it.

Ciao....

I have to agree with a6m5. On the first listen, snow patrol songs sound OK. It's only with repeated listens that they grab you and turn into albums you play again and again. 👍

Anyone here seen them live? They're even better live, been lucky enough to see them twice. I've not met them but I've heard them in numerous interviews and they sound like a really down to earth bunch of guys.

OMG OMG. Thanks for reminding me. They are coming to Roseland Theater(my favorite local venue) sometime this month. I might have to go solo, but I was going to look into the tickets situation anyway.......... and I had forgotten. :ouch:

You have to go see them, I'll never forgive you if you don't.

Much better if you can see them at a small venue, (sorry, I'm from the UK so I don't know the Roseland Theatre?) I've seen them at the Glastonbury festival which is a huge weekend gig with hundreds of artists on various stages and I saw them at a BBC gig with less than a hundred people in the room, nothing I've been to before or since will ever beat that, you could see the whites of their eyes.

I have "Eye's open", I'm not a big Snow patrol fan though, some of thier songs catch me some don't, some sound too much like the others. The good songs are good, the rest are average imo, but "Eye's open" is an okay album in general.

I do like "Final Straw" way more than I like "Eyes Open". Eyes is a great album, but with "Final Straw", I can't even find a flaw in that album. It is perfect, as far as I'm concerned.

As for the tickets, it's sold out. :( I just found about the show late last week, show's on 6/16. :ouch: I will keep looking for any last minute tickets, but I kinda doubt I'll find one.

SuperT: Roseland is a very old and small joint. I've seen bands like The Killers and blur there. Both times, just 10ft or so away from the stage. For $30 or so, what a deal. 👍

That's a vary good deal. Over here we'd usually pay double that!

Maybe if I were paying prices like that I'd get to a few more gigs. :(

When a good British band come to Portland, Oregon, I think they just do the show to promote albums and perform for the fans. Even band like Oasis do a smaller venue(still bigger than blur, Snow Patrol). Oasis fans at Portland show were seriously weak. Gem Archer(guitar) and Andy Bell(Bass) were walking right thru the crowd, I was the only person who recognized them. Unbelievable.

Guess who's swinging by Portland, Oregon again! And this time, tickets won't sell out, because they are performing at the local festival. If you are interested, it's on August 13th(Sunday) at Waterfront. See more info I posted in this thread.
