Started with some (non-premo) RX-7, but now I've won an FT-85 Concept … and seeing this is some sort of everyday dreamcar for me I'll stick to that for now.

Keep checking the used car lot. I bought a 69' Isuzu Bellet (which is surprisingly quick and fun to drive) for around 20k. It can run in both the Japanese classics and world classic events

It's a great car for the Japanese Classic and it looks good too , after a couple of upgrades my bspec driver does well with it 👍

After browsing the Used cars lot, I eventually settled for a '98 Lexus IS200. Then I went to bed and haven't even played yet!

I started off with a 95 Mazda Miata VR-Limited (Combination B?) for about $13k. It looked like it was in decent condition and Miatas have so much potential in them. I haven't actually raced with it yet, I've just been doing all the license tests, so we'll see how it goes.

I bought a Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 as my starting car. Driving it bog standard at the moment and you can get some the tail out nicely on some of the courses.

When I first started playing GT5, I purchased a Honda Civic Type-R (White) '97 (P) like a lot of people. Unfortunately, my game save died. The second time, I started with the Suzuki Cappuccino. Kinda a slow car, but I used money from License and Kart to buy a Mini. Served me really well, and I won back the Civic in Spec-B!

So I guess the Civic is still the "first" car for me. :)

Mine was an MX5/Miata/Eunos, from the used car lot. I stupidly thought you could do Kart events from the off, so bought a Kart and left myself with only 15k but saw a nice canary yellow Mazda for 14k-odd and it served me pretty well.

If I started over I would be tempted by the quicker premium Mazda which is about 19k, or the premium Civic Type-R, but perhaps it's more fun to buy a used mule after all :)

Mine was a Standard Honda Civic. I sold it, but I do have the third car I bought the first day, a 1986 MR2 1600 G.

Something cheap and rear-wheel drive.

GT1: R32 GTS-t Type S
GT2: Supra Twin-Turbo R
GT3: AE86; was uncompetitive, so I swapped it for an '89 MX-5.
GT4: R32 GTS-t Type M (second time around; can't remember what I started with on my first save)
GT5:P: DC5R

Judging by all of that, it'll probably be Japanese, depending on the price / performance / predicted upgradeability (the latter being where I stumbled with the '86).

Well, I was right.

My first car in GT5 was the R32 GTS-t Type M. Bit cheeky in the Sunday Cup, but that's what it's all about :p

And yes, it has pride of place at the bottom of my garage still!

Interestingly, the first cat I ever got was the Red Bull S.Vettel X2010 last year in the event. Luckily, I got GT5 on the same day sebastian Vettel won the race which confirmed his victory. :D

It was definitely a japanese car, but I don't remember what it was. It might've been a MX-5.
