The Australian guy and his (stolen) retail copy of GT5. Legit or fake ?

I think its real, if only for the fact that I'm currently unemployed, and even I have better things to do than spend hours photoshopping an image of that quality. If it is fake, then a) the guy has skills at photoshop and b) has no real life to speak of. With a possible release date announcement looming, its not totally unthinkable that someone had their hands on it, even if it was an official mock up or something.

It has already been proven it's a fake..

I could probably PS a game lable and cover insert that would look believeable in a photo in a few hours given some easy access to retail examples and source images.

Oh has it? Sorry I didnt realise, last I checked people were still undecided about it. So what was the crucial evidence to prove it was fake?

Yes, but could you really be bothered to do it just to mess with a few people on the internet? Mind you the world is a strange place, you never know :)

Jealous here if that's legit.

11 Years Photoshop Experience:

or is there allready a trophy list?

Well given the right program anyone can say they played GT5.

Don't believe everything you read.

(Its a shame that GTP don't let you have a sig. They could make it so only the PSN sig is allowed.)

Closing this for now. duplicate discussions is very hard to moderate at the moment.

Open for business again. Please keep on topic. 👍

I found it very interesting that this guy and the one on the newest news page both posted low resolution and unclear images, as if they don't really want people to check the details.

What would I do if I've got the GT5 copy? Here:
1. Use my 10 mega pixel camera shoot multiple photos with close focus function. Front and back.
2. Use my scanner to scan the cover art, the whole user menu booklet and the disc again.
3. Photos from putting the disc into PS3 to GT5 logo showing up on TV screen.
4. Play the game and release videos on YouTube or any video stream website.

Am I asking too much? They have balls to post these images, but they didn't do anything I listed above.

That's completely true mate. Doesn't make any sense that he didn't do anything that you said. If the copy is really legit he got infinite ways to prove it.

I think there may bee a connection between CZ and the GT5 crotch-pants guy.

If I had GT5 I wouldn't be able to prove it. I use my PS3 as my CPU, have no flashdrive, nobody I know has a scanner and I wouldn't go out of my way so everybody else can see that I have it. I would simply say I have it and let the doubter's doubt as it's not my problem.

I would however answer some questions, just to help some people out that ask nicely. When CZ was posting earlier I was thinking reading all the negative post's "I wouldn't tell them anything" and then poof he was gone. Not saying he has an actual copy but why should he he have taken abuse and then still spill the beans?

You'd be surprised what I could be bothered to do just for the hell of it :)

I think the new news confirmed this, their copy in Europe was the same as the australian guys. Unless this is some sort of troll conspiracy.

Whose to say he didn't take a quick pic with a camera phone and post it while he was at work or something?

OK, then how many days past since the first picture posted online? :trouble:

I actually don't want to see anymore leaked images/new gameplay videos... I'd rather find out the new features and experience things for myself, but everyone's different, with all these new leaked photos, the experience kind of feels a bit ruined, kind of like seeing your Christmas present before it's wrapped.

Frankly, I'm confused why they want to send these pictures out to begin with. All it will do is draw undue attention to myself, and clearly these people have access to the game that most aren't privy to. This would only cause the investigation to be narrowed and me lose my job and face potential legal ramifications.

If I had copy of this game like these guys claim, I would play it quietly, telling no one, then on release day, demolish all online competition with fully developed and tuned cars.

I agree with you :)

I feel much the same and am kinda glad these leaked videos was a hoax. Especially considering so many were asking for the intro. I might have to avoid GT discussions soon I think, but for now I just want a announcement from Sony with a date..

I think I will have to step away from certain threads myself. All I want is the new release date for the U.S. I think we will get one this upcoming week though.

Can't someone just check the EXIF on the original photos and see if it coinsides with the time he posted the pic. I mean the CZ's one.

Im pretty sure they're going to have some kind of class/power/speed rating restrcitions on races so youre not going to be demolishing anyone just becasue you've played the game more than they have.

I'm betting that it will all be user controlled so there could potentially be people in much faster cars if there are no restrictions set.
