Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the center of the rim isn't in the center of the disk?

I said that too...But I guess the Rim doesnt have to be centered.

I think it would look bland centered, so they tried to add some flare by shifting it over. I am really surprised they didn't use the SLS wheel, how much that it seems to be the GT5 mascot.

so its Legit.Tha OZ guys disc

I note some significant differences between the two. Most noteworthy being the different "PS3" Logo, one old the other new. There are also minor differences between the blueray logo in terms of it's proportions. Spacing between items is slightly different in many areas has well, though only slightly.
Since the orriginal pic posted shows a know display disk design, has used at SEMA2010, sneaking out a pic of such a disk would easily explain why it has so many flaws, but doesn't appear photoshopped. It would also explain why the photographer is wearring a suit, and ussing a cell phone.
Unfortunately those display disks are advertising aids, ussually a rough design and cheaply made, and wouldn't be funtional beyond demo data, if at all.
If you assume this new second disk isn't a fake, it only proves that the basic disk design is accurate, and not that the OZ guy is in possesion of a working copy of the game.

Is this thread going to contain all discussion of early-released discs or will people be starting new threads for each 'sneak peek?'
just curious...

I kinda thought we could just photoshop this one to make it look like we knew about all the other disks in advance....:sly:

Jealous here if that's legit.

Straight BS, this game needs to be here November 16th.

The full version of that pic shows trophies from some shooter game, so definite bs...

Woops, the new disk blog topic just got locked down. Who wants to be first to say it's proof of the Myan doomsday?

Idiots. The pic shows some guy's latest trophies which happen to from RDR. But I think the above pic is fake. The controller icon isn't centered with the blue dot as it should be.

Nice one, had a feeling someone on here would clear that up.

So he's got GT5, but instead of playing it, he chooses to go get trophies in RDR. Makes sense, that's what we all would do.....

it's showing the most recent trophies, not trophies for that game.

the first 7 are definitely from RDR, but the last one isn't (looks like a table tennis bat, and totally different art style).

plus, at the bottom it says 366 trophies, level 7, so it's clearly for all his games, not just GT5.

Maybe he hasn't got any trophies yet? But it was fake anyways, so :ouch:

Oh, I agree it's fake, but I doubt anyone who would post such a pic without at least a "finnished first race" trophy or such anyway. Pretty much all games have some kind of trophy you get in the first 20 minutes of play.

Yet another person with the retail disc

Oh, nevermind, I see you caught it

These have to be fake, the PD logo on the disc has TM after the name but on the front cover it has R in a small circle after it. If you look at GT5 prologue both PD logos have the R in a small circle. I don't see why the cover and disc would be different?

Why does Jordan bother posting these "leaked" discs if he just locks the articles after only 100 comments? That's twice already.

I don't know why some people are quick to call these fake. Lets think about it for a moment. We know GT5 is in production and to be honest it was always inevitable that some copies would be leaked early because this is what happens with nearly every high profile game.

Im not saying its right because its fair to say these have been stolen which I defintively don't agree with.

I would have expected that too, and mentioned it before. Doesn't bother me that it's not a straight on shot, centered wheel. That would make for a biring disc.

TM Just means Trademark and R means Registered Trademark signifying the trademark has been registered with a patent office somewhere.

Usually the process goes from being TM (before patent) to being R after the patent is filed and approved. Having the R gives you more legal protection.

Maybe the cover is somehow more regional than the disc and thus bears the R as it's actaully registered in the country the lable is printed on and the disc itself spans a few regions, some of which the trademark is not registered?

Just a wild guess...

While I lean towards fake, I suspect it's because they're plausable enough to post, and no more confirmable has fakes than they are has real at this point. Probably just playing it safe before such posts turn into flame wars. Either that, or there really is something going on in the background that isn't ready to go public yet. We will know one way or another eventually.

Why do you assume he thought about locking it before he even posted? It was news, so it was posted. After it was posted, he was probably asked by someone to take it down and lock it.

I tell you one thing though if someone decided to sell one of these copies they would make a fortune. I wonder what they would sell for?

I think its real, if only for the fact that I'm currently unemployed, and even I have better things to do than spend hours photoshopping an image of that quality. If it is fake, then a) the guy has skills at photoshop and b) has no real life to speak of. With a possible release date announcement looming, its not totally unthinkable that someone had their hands on it, even if it was an official mock up or something.
