If they removed the image is obvious is real.
What, they would keep a fake image up.

Manufacturing fault perhaps? Where a disc was never put in the case during production
Well they would update the story to explain that it was fake.
The reason why some retailers take the disc out and leave the case on the shelves is so people can look around while not risking theft. So even if some nutcase runs off with a game box on the shelf, the store still had the game. Besides, it's an easy way to keep track of inventory. No box, no stock. Simple as that.
Usually the games are in their original wrappings here in Canada when sold. The only time when retailers would 'gut' their games is when they need to manually insert the French manual and then reseal it back.
They did make a statement right after Amazon published a fake release date last year....Who, Sony. The ones who were going to update us last week. Ha.
Yup and it works good for them that way, only the Media Markt sells sealed copies in the Netherlands (they protect their cases with some lock) all others have them without disc. I like sealed ones better because it's fun to unseal the game with the hype you're having![]()
I won't believe the copy's real until it's in a PS3 and demo'd on YouTube. The internet's full of sociopaths who'd go to the trouble of faking a GT5 disc to pull the ultimate troll on the fanbase. Nothing lines up:
Why is a Rays wheel used instead of an SLS AMG rim or the box art?
Why does the disc ID's numbers match up with another game? I won't believe it's a coincidence.
The poster conveniently said his PS3 broke, therefore no demo. I think he's full of crap about the CoD:BO copy too...
GTP's not one to fuel baseless rumors, so no more disc pic.
You do realize that his PS3 is probably broken 'cause he's been playing illegal copies of games on his system. I'm pretty sure if you steal a game from a production facility and try to play it on your PS3, Sony's going to instantly know about it and brick your system. So, let this be a lesson to everyone: Pirating is bad and illegal and it could mean you have to buy a new PS3.

So where does this come from? A picture he posted that looks to be taken from his TV, of the killstreak rewards in Black Ops. I'm not following Black Ops, so maybe this was already seen in a demo or something and he just took a picture? I dunno, but seems legit.
Disconnect the ****er from the interweb before you play the game ? Just a thought..........

I think a "smart" pirate would cut his network connection before booting up illegal copies. Then again, I waded into the the forum that picture came from and it was full of moronic d-bags.
Could it be one of the people who wona contest like the Subway one a few months ago where you were supposed to get the game early?
That screen from Black Ops is the real deal, but there are hundreds, if not thousands of people who have the full retail game already (actually for about a week now). So really, unless that screen of the killstreaks was posted a long time ago, it isn't really significant. Also, there was a private beta for Black Ops, but i am not ceratin as to whether killstreaks were selectable for that.
The technological deficiency on GTplanet is appalling.
