A Dashing Lap at Suzuka!
Suzuka is a very fun track to drive thanks to its figure-of-8 layout. After you go under the bridge, it almost feels like you're driving two completely different tracks at once. It's definitely one of the more unique circuits in the world.
There's only one problem:
I am absolutely terrible at this track. I dread any race at Suzuka in the career mode, because I know I won't have an easy time here.
And with this challenge, it's no different. My target was to get a sub-2 minute lap, and I had to work hard for it.
After the first attempt was well above the 2 minute mark, I kept on trying, seemingly improving with each attempt. That is, until I hit
2:00.089. That time seemed like a brick wall.
No matter how much I tried, something seemed to happen when I thought I had the lap that would give me the time I was looking for. Either I would spin out after Turn 2, or accelerate too hard out of the hairpin or out of Spoon, screwing up Degner 1 and shooting into the gravel, or the worst of all, cutting the final chicane and ruining two laps at once.
It was getting really frustrating and at this point I was unsure if I would ever get under two minutes. But the time finally came, and I got the lap time I was looking for:
1:59.066.
That wasn't very fun, but I just wanted to give this one a try because I like driving GT500 cars.
