Wow, 3 Avatars with Trixie.

Never thought I'd see this here.
I'm not surprised really, it's just not something I saw coming.

Also Hot Topic is a lot like Home Depot, only the tools are the ones doing the shopping.

Hangout/store for tools/hipsters. Its like the Starbucks of clothing stores.

Oh God, we've had a Starbucks for the past year. I've only been in it once, to break into a ten-pound note so I could get a bus home.

It was quite funny, the till attendant was staring at me staring at the menu. I remembered as I started browsing that I actually hate coffee.

Never thought I'd see this here.

I love my Great and Powerful avatar personally.

/Edit/

I just remembered! Hot Topic was in a South Park episode parodying Twilight and scene kids. (The culture that later evolved into Hipsters.)

I also can't stand Hipsters, they're so self-righteous.

(I am surprised that there was a reason to actually use that so quickly after I uploaded it)

Anyways, in the proud tradition of the GTP Bronies, new page so time for a new stupid discussion. Following the footsteps of "what color is Twilight's mane" and "what web color looks most like Trixie," I present to you:

Cello, or Double Bass?

I just read The Sound of Sunlight, and I have to know. It looks like a cello and I *think* I can hear a cello during Pony Pokey, but it is sized/laid out like a double bass. She doesn't really play it like either, if I'm honest (Octavia's just that good, I suppose), but still.

Discuss.

It's 4 actually. There's me, Toro, Coffee and Apokalipse (does Trixie Parasprite count?)

When comparing the shape of Octavia's instrument with both a Cello and a Double Bass, it does look far more like a Cello. I know that it seems to be closer to a Double Bass in terms of size, but remember, Octavia is relatively small.

I'll have to agree with Wiegert on this one, guys.

EDIT:

4 Ponies pulling an estimate of 600 Tons of weight at an estimate of 20 m/s. Discuss.

EDIT II: This guy needs help from those ponies, G1 doesn't do the job.

Translation
Announcer: "Do you want a truck that runs on horsepower, or pony power?"

Rage guy: "Damn you, ponies!"

Ponies: "Damned ponies, damned ponies, come and dance with us! I hate mud, I hate grass, I will not move from this spot!" *kiss* "I love you."

*stuff about the car*

Pink pony after the commercial: "Hey, don't close the video! Let me tell you something..." *turns satanic* IF YOU DON'T SHOW THIS VIDEO TO TEN PEOPLE, YOU WILL SUFFER THE CURSE OF THE PONY. YOU WILL LIVE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE WITH THIS SONG STUCK IN YOUR HEAD!" *turns normal* "Damned ponies, damned ponies, lalalalalalala..."

Oh sure, move the damn thread seven pages in one day, whatever, it's not like I was in the middle of a conversation with CoffeeGrunt last Friday night.

As I expected, my weekend is shot to hell as far as having free time to pony is concerned.

@Gravekeeper

Okay it'd be one character, Rainbow Dash. Background could look similar to this:
http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/313/1/f/new_alexandria_burning_by_2900d4u-d32hhcl.png

Or, y'know, a variation of that. Dash herself would have her mane cut short military-style, and be in full body armour like this design:
https://image.animeharu.com/image/Figure/E2009080040.jpg

And she'd have a weapon's setup on her forelegs like these:
http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh249/coffeegrunt1/Untitled-2.png

You can make this all as intricate or simple as you want. In honesty it's just a cover piece for a fanfic, I really only need it because there's no other decent Halo/MLP crossover art yet. And it's nice to personalise my work a bit. The background is alot less important, so your time would be best focused on Dash herself.

Also make her look badass. She won't be wearing a helmet so feel free to play with the expression a bit.

Seems fairly complex alright, let's see if I have some time tonight to sketch around a bit (well, the REAL tonight, not that Zero-Meridian time you're so fond of).

Right now, I still have friends over from this weekend spent in geek hedonism.
LAN parties until 4am? Awwww yeeeeah.

What the applebuck was that?

/Edit/

Ninja-Post there Gravekeeper.

Yeh mean the right time? :P

Unit One offered to draw it for me. I don't wanna steal your free time, 'specially when you should be writing Chapter 14 already. :P

Also LAN parties until 4AM? I've tried that a few times, drank enough Red Bull my haemoglobin evolved to carry caffeine instead. XD

You know, the last bit where it was satanic sounded better in Brazilian, just sayin'.

Btw isn't Brazilian essentially portuguese?

Haha, no problem then, I guess my drawin' time has turned into writin' time then--as far as LAN parties go, since we all work or study during the week, a nice Saturday spend making pizzas, drinking wine and gaming until Sunday morning is usually our preferred method of unwinding :D That's why I usually don't have any time for myself during the weekends.

Edit:

So similar, but they brutalise, (not brutalize!), it like Americans did to our beautiful Queen's englsh? :'(

The difference in American Spanish and European Spanish is pretty much the same difference as American English and European English. Yurop's Spanish sounds stuffy and over-pronounced to our hip, New World ears :D However, the Spaniards are creative, celebrated cursers. American Spanish varies immensely between countries though; one form of the verb 'to take' in Spanish has naughty connotations in Mexico, but is normal parlance elsewhere, for example.

Edit 2:
I just remembered a TF2 moment while playing in a Latin server (translated for your convenience);

Me: Take the point, guys!
Mexican player: WTF
Me: Hurry up and take that point!
Mexican player: Stop saying 'take'!
Me: .......???? Oh. OH! Lawl.

It's just the accent. It sounds closer to Neutral (No accent) Spanish. Compared to it, Iberian Portuguese sounds like being drunk, with glass in your throat. (No offense on Portuguese guys.) Also, what Gravekeeper said.

Compare:

Oh boy! If I counted all the new forms of swearing I learned from Spanish Rage-videos...

[...]One form of the verb 'to take' in Spanish has naughty connotations in Mexico, but is normal parlance elsewhere, for example.

Just in the north of Mexico. Also in Colombia.

Cello.
It's got the body shape of a Cello, but the thing that confirms Cello is the tuning pegs.

Double Bass has gears:

And size isn't a good thing to go off of considering if it were made by ponies for ponies they would probably scale it back a bit.

Also, for some reason FF crashes when I try to load this page, so I'm back on Chrome until the next page, and if it still crashes I'll just re-install it.

Oh, and I won't be reading Macintosh becauase looking at one thing for more than 20+ minutes makes me start getting spots in my vision.
And that definitely has nothing to do with me getting very little of sleep over the past week.
I'll get some extra sleep tonight and go for it tomorrow.

 Good thing I usually treat with people from many countries on Spanish-speaking parts of The Web. If not, I believe the same could have happened to me, if I was there.

inb4 Double Bass is steampunk.

Ah, I see--I'm terrible at picking out accents and regionalisms myself. At the store where I work, there's a Brazilian customer dude that often drops in, and 'Drunken Portuguese' is exactly what he talks like. At least, Spanish and Portuguese are still close enough that I can understand the gist of what he wants to buy, and we can hold a half-decent conversation most of the time.

Yeah, so my sister went ahead and bought me this..............not....entirely sure what to think about this.

EDIT:
Wasn't sure what to think until I got to the games.

Figure this out: S_eet Ap_l_ _cres.

Good thing she only spent a dollar on it.

EDIT:
I know the target demo for this show was low, but I at least expected something that would challenge the brain of 2 year old.

Looks like....fun.
I'm sure it will keep you occupied for the next few days/weeks.

Also, I love the fact the Toro tried to get a discussion going about whether Octavia was playing a Cello or a Double Bass, yet now we're discussing the variations between European Spanish and American Spanish, as well as Portuguese and Brazilian.

I'm tempted to do it just so I can time myself and see what happens. Skipping the coloring parts because I'm lazy like that.

Uh. Um. In Spanish, cello is 'chelo' and Double Bass is 'Contrabajo'. I don't know what they are in Portuguese, but it's probably the same or nearly so. Pony in Spanish is 'Poni', as far as I can remember, though it might vary between countries.

Y U no hat AJ?!

Just sent yet another chapter off to Sethisto. You wait any longer, and I'll have out-quantity'd your quality. :P

Srsly tho bro, nd chptr 14 nao plz.

Wow, I figured other languages would have their little nuances. English even in Britain is so vastly different from one side to the other that it's actually irritating.

And don't even get me started on my having a Scottish accent, despite living in England for ten years the bugger won't die. I just got annoyed at how all my pre-readers are American, and I spent the majority of the Trashed and Scattered editing phase explaining that "realise" and "realize" are both correct.

Thankfully they're big boys now, and pick up on a tone of actually valid grammar errors I leave like a comet's tail while I'm writing.

/Edit/

I got ninja'd, piggy Pie?

Also I'm burning my way through Halo books to scrub up on canon. All I can say is that Eric Nylund is the weakest writer of the bunch. (Dietz and Staten being actually pretty good, and the short story compilation being filled with little gems.)

Spelt, licence, grey, honour, spectre.

These are just some of the words which I first learned through their commonwealth spelling that continued to haunt me through every writing assignment I ever had throughout school (though the grey/gray thing just confuses me now. Sometimes I spell it one way, other times the other way). Perfect assignments, handed back with points knocked off because I used the wrong spelling (though honour and licence were the two that were caught most frequently).

Our education system here is slowly giving over to Americanisms, because they're simpler. "It's" is something I often get caught out on, apparently "Its" is used for the possessive.

Sorry but no offense, if we keep down that route we'll end up using txt spk.

You know, even having learned American English, there's certain words I can't unread and unwrite in their clearly faulty European way :). 'Specter' looks wrong to me for some reason, even though that way it actually matches how it sounds.

I remember chatting with some bronies about this, but pronunciation-wise, English is just awful and terribly inconsistent. It's like you guys used a random number generator to make up your pronunciation rules.

Ok, now I'm mightily confused. You don't use 'Its' for possessive? 'The car lost its tyre?' (See, I even spelled it 'tyre' just for you :D)
