I've got this idea from @MatskiMonk :
Mentioned my idea here
Okay, so here's a thought.
Since Zahara is going to be quite a long circuit, doubtless with many many turns, all of which we'll be collectively learning together, at about the same time... perhaps a co-ordinated corner naming effort should be undertaken?
Mentioned my idea here
I'm tempted to open an "Unofficial Circuito de la Sierra Corner Names Thread" once the track is released
Someone names any corner they want, maybe a reason with it, if it gets widespread public acceptance, it stays, if not, try again, repeat until every corner has their own name, and then we should start spreading the word, maybe on the biggest Gran Turismo wiki
I'll start to prepare the OP right now![]()
As this new circuit will arrive in a matter of weeks, and we do not really know how the layout will be like.
The point of this is that you name an specific corner with a characteristic and surroundings of the corner, a reference of a movie, tv show, a song, or a famous person, or even an user of the forums, explain it so everyone will get why you selected that name, if it gets public acceptance (i.e: More than 20-something likes) it'll stay as the name of a corner, if not, you can try again with another name or another corner, until every corner has its own name
Rules:
- Only one corner per post, please, if you post more than one name in a post, even though they're for different corners, the likes will go toward the first corner mentioned in the post, as the other one will be ignored.
- No double posting, wait for at least two people to post before you can make another post
- Once a corner name is decided, you should not post any other suggestion for that corner, as they will be ignored
- In the case that two suggestions get the same amount of likes during a period of time, the one that was posted first, will be the one selected
This is a great chance for the community to do something together, do this as one group of people that besides our differences, we will be able to work as a very effective team, get rid of some negativity and maybe have a good laugh, as a community of dedicated people.
We are all going to learn this new circuit, and that will not be an easy task, the circuit is expected to be more than 25km long, and will obviously have a big amount of corners, for example: 90 corners, and if someone is having trouble in corner 47, you would look to a map of the track, and tell which one is it, instead of that, corner 47 could be named "Sparky's Corckscrew" and everyone will identify this corner without looking at a layout map, and said guy will receive help faster.
Let's get started! you might use the trailer to name the corners/straights showcased, but you might also want to wait for the track being released.
