WHAT THE HELL, Dust storm has apparently moved to Brisbane. Thanks for sharing Syntax. My dad called me outside and the sky is glowing orange. I went outside and the air didnt feel bad. I got some shots with my phone and when I came inside It is now all up my nose and I can fell it in the air. Its incredible.
Photos.

I think this will be on the news, those shots were just over my fence and I live 20 or so mins from the city. I have never seen this before.

When I take digital pictures, they also look like this. Without trying.

I guess it's a pretty weird view outside my crappy photos!

Aparently the dust was blown over from SA... aparently South Australia is that bad even their dust is leaving. Badum tish!

Thank you thank you, I'm here 'til Wednesday. Try The Veal.

Yeah, thats what I read aswell. There was bad winds there and it picked up a lot of the dust on the ground. I used to live there and when I went back for 2 weeks holiday at the start of this year it is by far the dustiest place I have been. The city is kinda in a big valley, all the dust and wind from the mountain comes down into Adelaide and it gets pretty dusty there, thats why alot of people get affected by hayfever there, me included.

Apparently it should clear up here a bit by tomorrow.

EDIT: It's already on the mend, the sky is a bit lighter.

Mother nature is frowning on Australia again, dust storms all through QLD and NSW, earthquakes in Melbourne (or so I'm told) and tornadoes in South Australia. I just feel sorry for my Ute, getting so dirty, intaking dusty air to the air filter.:(

I thought it was pretty cool though in the peak of the dust storm the sun was blue and all car's headlights, reagardless of how yellow, shone bright white.:)

Well there were reports of red dust remains in the local regional paper where i live. We had a good thunderstorm on monday, 14mm of rain and the power went out at school. :)

You can thank us later :P

Dust is up north, no one goes there (except miners), enjoy. :D

Here is the Civilised South Australia we have had some great rains.

It does? You must visit the further north end of Adelaide (Gawler, Salsbury etc)

Well the city isn't in a dusty area at all, the breeze comes off the sea and up the hills (city in between), not dusty areas around there. South of Adelaide is all green and north is where the dust is.

Unless you came over in the middle of all the heat and drought then the dust might come off the parklands or something.

Pic's From Sydney this morning.

I have lived in SA 25 years and have only once seen a dust storm in Adelaide and that was around 20 years ago.

My daughters boyfriend was supposed to be flying into Adelaide around 3pm, flights from Sydney have delayed all day, at this stage the flight is due in around 8.40 if it ever gets to leave. Apparently earlier frlights had been diverted through Brisbane because they couldn't land in Sydney and then they all got stuck in Brissy.

It's in the 70's climbing to the 80's today and it's humid (85%) although it's not as bad as yesterday where I felt wet just from sitting in my room with the windows open.

Well, in two days I will be driving to Atlanta for the Petit Le Mans.

Looks like a blast. Road Atlanta emailed everyone to confirm that the race was on, rain or shine. I finally get to see my first wet race. Last year my clothes were stained from red dust blowing everywhere. I bet money red mud is even harder to get out.

Wallrunner lives in the area. Has anyone heard from him since the storms and flooding started?

That dust down in Oz looks pretty intense. I'd imagine it's pretty weird for September as well...

It was a very nice day in Holland today. It was cool, overcast and we even had a bit of misty rain stuff. I'm happy the temperature helped make the humidity bearable. I'd really enjoy a few more late fall days like this for a good break from the nasty summery stuff I've been in since I can remember.

I'm surprised Joey was having such different weather over on the other side of the state...

We got that dust storm pretty bad where I live, but by the time I woke up (7am), it was mostly gone where I live and on the road to recovery. But I driving to school it was slowly getting more and more orange. Very odd morning on Wednesday.... Inhaled a lot of dust on the way to school, had a seriously dry throat.

 @ PAPA's pic!

I had a sore throat yesterday too, but today it has been replaced by a stuffed nose!

We are not getting any September temps, it's meant to be warming up by now but the coldest day of the year is predicted tomorrow with just 13C. :ill:

I woke up at 4:15 this morning to go hunting. However, it was 82 degrees! I knew it was going to be too hot to hunt!

It reached 106 today, but with the humidity, it was 119! Tomorrow is supposed to be much cooler, but I doubt I'll go hunting. The last weekend for hunting shot to hell. :grumpy:

Hell thats about as hot as it gets in Australia. Our hottest day was 48C (118F) in January or Febuary.

It's currently 57 degrees, overcast, windy and rain here and there. Finally some decent weather. This stuff is just awesome.

Almost the same here, Philly. 56° and 24 (gusting to 32) mph so it feels like it's 48°. Irrelevant as I'm home sick and haven't been outside anyway. :indiff:

That's freezing! Our coldest day of the year was 13C maximum. (55F) and you get that in early spring?

I mean autumn. :ouch:

For Philly, here in Washington, it was just pouring earlier, I didn't bring a raincoat with me to school, and I had to call up my brother to pick me up from school, because my computer would have been damaged.

Goodbye sun, hello dismal clouds. (I shouldn't say that, I hate when it's sunny and love when it's cloudy)
