The temp itself isn't going to be all that bad, but it dives down quick with a stiff breeze.
Oh yeah, -3 is shorts weather .

Another beautiful day out west. Sunny again (what?), and in the upper 30s. We even got a dusting of snow last night, which was a complete surprise.

Well down here in Lincolnshire...Well our river looks like it's going to burst its banks..I suppose that would mean no school for a bit...

But the difference between -11°F and -32°F because of a 12mph wind (current conditions) is huge. Eleven below you can deal with. Thirty two below (also a formerly local band) is another story.

Point on non-interest, I've gone jet skiing when it was 35°F. If you want motivation to not fall off, that will most assuredly do it.

! Sunny? Not in the 20s?

Is it not winter anymore for the rest of the world?

This is as nice as you will see here in January:

I'll be in Houston Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, so I won't get to enjoy all of it :(.

Aren't those sunny days usually well below freezing?

Here it's 12 degrees. I wore shorts to celebrate it getting warmer. But the condensation on the window froze last night, rather interesting.

It was so cold today, about 15 C and i got up at 5am, i turned the heater on for the first time in about 6 months.

I hear ya... I should go out and see if the car will start (my guess is no), but its so damn cold that I don't want to...

I'll see your -12 and raise you a -22!

I don't actually live in Gunnison but its a warm 3 degrees with the wind chill of -8 here in Denver.

Also note that it is 100% humidity in Gunnison also. How cold must that feel right now? :scared:

Gunnison!? My stepmother is from there!

It was flipping cold the last two days. The sun was out and the wind wasn't blowing, so -22 was bearable today. I think it warmed up quite a bit, but it was about twenty below this morning.

Although it currently sits at 10F outside (with a very small amount of snow), my car did start after several tries! Success!

God knows if it will repeat my success tomorrow morning...

The Cooper read 2 when I stopped to fill up...that was an unpleasant experience. With the wind it's like -15 or something. My girlfriend's mom just called me from Chicago and said it was -27 today with the windchill.

Man, I thought the 5 degree wind chill was cold here! I'm never gonna live in those states... As I can't really stand 20 degrees.

You get used to it. I used to think 30 was freezing cold but now 20 is a nice day. Shorts weather.

That's a hair under 60 F. I don't know about wearing shorts, but I would not call that "cold". Cool maybe, but you won't freeze to death.

That sounds really nice. Glad I'll get to see that when I head back west in two months.

Spring break?

My luck will probably be the same as last year: The last major snowstorm of the winter season...

I had a look at the weather this morning on CNN, and I found it rather funny that it was in the 20s and snowing down in Georgia. My Grandparents who run to Florida every year to escape weather such as this were below freezing in the panhandle too. This was of course the morning after all, so I'm sure its much warmer now.

All of this, of course, convinces me that I want to live in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area. I could care less about hurricanes, the snow and ice is worse...

I'll send back reports of nice warm, rainy weather while you guys enjoy 2 feet of snow back here:sly:.

It's an incredible 17 here. I wore shorts to my last class to more enjoy it. It looks like we are supposed to be up to a whopping 25 by 3 AM tonight with snow all the way until then.

Looks like we had some snow to. This is a shot from Sunday morning. Currently Zero degrees.

Well we got 1 inch of snow and nearly every school in the region canceled or delayed.

I am putting together a hypothesis that snow paralyzes the brain cells necessary for properly driving car. I have plenty of anecdotal evidence this morning, now I just have to do a controlled test,.

We got about 3 inches and it's still snowing, but ya I agree people become morons when it snows. Either they drive 40 mph under the speed they should be going or they own a big ass truck/suv and feel the need to do 40mph over what they should be doing (Dodge Ram owners are the worst). I wonder if people realise that 4WD does not make you stop any quicker?

Looks like we got blasted with a heat wave last night. It got all the way up to 32 this morning, a whole 20 degrees over 24 hours ago. Now it's back down to 26. It's been snowing for 5 days now, and it looks like we got a good 4-6 inches last night. It looks awesome out.

It gets especially bad in places where it doesn't snow and people automatically assume they can't do it yet do anyway at far less than what they could be going.

Well, this morning I ran into two types of people, and Joey basically pointed them out.

1) The scared to death people that over-react and cause an accident.
2) The fearless people that get reckless and cause an accident.

On the interstate I was behind a van and I needed to get over. We were going slightly faster than the right-hand lane and I had the time to wait until I passed the car next to me and had a huge hole. Right before I could get in the van in front of me slams on his brakes. The car I was attempting to pass passes me and I have to rely on the kindness of another person to allow me in. When I get over I see there is no one in front of the van that would have necessitated his brake slamming. Then as I start to pass the van that I was behind he turns his turn signal on and wants to get in in front of me. I already learned that lesson and refused to yield. He was able to get in behind me.

Then after getting off the interstate I was on a residential road heading toward the office. Two vehicles up was a Blazer doing the 35mph speed limit. Just behind him/in front of me was a four-door Focus. On a double yellow line, in a curve, he whips out and floors it to pass the Blazer. After going through two stops signs and a speed hump we were right behind him again. He was being an idiot to gain nothing.
