It's been raining for two days straight now and we are looking at another day and half before it ends. Reports are saying we are supposed to get between 4-6 inches of rain...that's what our snow forecasts sound like. We are having major flooding problems too.

Sounds about right

Ike has become a tropical storm, and hasn't been pounding us DFW folks very hard. I feel for my Houston & Galveston Texans, though. :nervous:

My cousin came home from Houston for a week, so while the circumstances aren't exactly good, its nice to see her back.

...To Joey's point...

Its been raining cats and dogs here, simply put. I'm looking forward to the day that it is sunny again.

I'd be grateful for every drop i get if i was you, or you might end up in a terrible drought like us... :(

It's about 25C here, the sort of temperature where you get hot with your jumper on, then cold when you take it off. :indiff:

Nonstop rain here too (no surprises). It feels like November back home. I quite like it.

So far the drainage systems seem to be keeping up for the most part. I haven't seen anything worse than I saw last year after a day of rain.

Does this qualify as a storm here? I though storms usually involved wind, and (for me at least), rain just sorta happens. It doesn't have to be called a storm...

55F with 30+mph wind. 👎

On the plus side, we're supposed to be in the upper 70's to low 80's this coming week. 👍

If by storm you mean "what was left of Hurricanne Ike," then yes, it was a storm.

Otherwise, I'd define "storm" as something that involves things like wind, thunder and lightning.

We had some great weather these past few days here in Niceville. A couple small white clouds, but mostly blue sky. It was also hotter than a blast furnace outside, just like I like it. I hope it keeps up.

Sunday we were dealing with the remnants of Ike....75 mph winds. My power at home was out for six hours. The power at work is still out.

Over 400,000 people in Kentucky were without power, and many still are. Over half of that was in Louisville alone.

Currently we are working out of a temporary location with limited shifts and staff. As a manager I have put in one 15 hour day and a 12 hour day.

I hope we have power tomorrow.

However, since then the weather has been absolutely gorgeous.

Similar here, except that there were over a million people in Ohio without power, and most of them still don't. Duke Energy from the Cincinatti area reported over 700,000 outages right after the storm, there were over 200,000 in Dayton served by DP&L and apparently about 90% of Columbus customers were out. I don't think there's a crazy amount of houses and cars damaged around here, mostly just trees and poles. Actually the power at my house never went out, but some other areas and cities won't have it for a week. Cinci is over twice the size of Dayton so Duke has it's work cut out!

Especially since they also service southern Indiana. I actually saw a Duke truck near work getting gas at one of the few stations with power (15 miles outside their service area).

I am just glad I live outside of Louisville. Our power company didn't have nearly as much grid to cover to get everything back online. My company is actually renting hotel rooms to let employees without hot water go get showers and clean up.

Really starting to warm up here, was about 25C again, didn't wear my jumper again. I can't wait til the 45C+ summer days. :)

It's showing signs of fall!! Yay, I love the rain, hopefully we have a good rainy season this year because last one was super lame 👎

Today: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Partly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. South southwest wind at 6 mph becoming east. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE WESTERN TWO THIRDS OF
UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

MOISTURE SPREADING NORTH ACROSS THE AREA WILL SPAWN SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS SOUTHERN AND CENTRAL UTAH TODAY. THIS
MOISTURE WILL REACH NORTHERN UTAH AND SOUTHWEST WYOMING LATER
TODAY...LEADING TO ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE LATE
AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS. THESE STORMS OVER THE NORTH WILL
PRODUCE LITTLE RAINFALL AND CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING. HAZARDOUS
FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS COULD EXIST ACROSS NORTHWEST UTAH THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

I live in the U.S., so I searched for a temperature converter on Yahoo.
I clicked on this one: http://www.eskimo.com/~jet/javascript/convert.html
and was surprised to see a big coincidence:

45c...wtf?

I love it 30-35. 40 is pretty nice to go swimming in, about the hottest we normally get is about 43, though i think it has been over 50C a couple of times. :scared:

We don't get snow though, the coldest it gets here in Winter is about a maximum of about 10C, a low of about 0 at the lowest. I've actually NEVER seen snow before. I'm not complaining though, 10C is cold enough.

You really are crazy, one minute you say you get cold when you take your jumper off at 25C next it's too hot to play sport in 22C

Very comfortable. Low 80's with low humidity. Last weekend was freezing; Low 70's and gray skies. It'll heat up in a few days to high 90's and higher humidity. Enjoying the perfect weather while I can...

The temperature is pretty nice here today. But the humidity is kinda getting to me.

Good news, looks like its going to be a little bit warmer tomorrow and Tuesday. I'm fairly excited, except for the part where I'll probably be spending most of the day inside at school tomorrow.

Cold today, even raining, not sure of the temperature i think it was only like 15.
