It's December 19th here in Dayton. Fifty-four degrees Fahrenheit. I'm driving with my windows halfway down. But not all the way because everything is still wet after last night and this morning's steady rain that could have--but didn't--result in, like, 6 inches of snow, at least.

I'll trade you, we have at least 10" on the ground now. Snow is falling at about a rate of 2" per hour and should be done by about 1 or 2.

Woot! I'll be up in about 4.5 hours.

Yeah we are getting destroyed today in Michigan. 4 cars already stuck in our work parking lot. The company is letting us all go early but I really have a feeling most of us wont get out of the parking lot. The economy has reduced the amount of plows on the road and it has had a devostating effect today. :ill:
This is the first time in years where I truly miss my 4x4 truck. This little saturn doesnt have a chance in this deep snow.

I had to dig two of my associates out of the parking lot today, not to mention my own car on the way to work. There was at least 16-18" in my driveway when I went out around 2-3PM, and there is still at least 1-3" on the road.

I think we're supposed to get more Saturday night, which should make for an interesting drive in on Sunday morning.

The roads around here still aren't clear (yay county layoffs!) but they are working on it. We got 11.5" according to the NOAA. The bad news is the MINI got stuck and in the process of rocking it the sensors went and I got every warning light on in the car. The car had to get towed to the dealership :(. The coolest thing though was when the tow truck came he executed a perfect snow drift all around the parking lot, I was impressed.

Eh? I'm curiously waiting for a cause in your Cooper thread.

I need the dealer to call me first and figure it all out. It sounds like they had a couple do that last night around here so I don't know.

Must have gotten at least 10 inches of snow yesterday in Toronto and the GTA. Sitting in a car with no ABS and a friend who has never driven in the snow was scary as 🤬!!!:nervous:

That's too bad, but I can deduct two things:

A) Your MINI rides lower than my car (?)
B) Your roads/parking lots weren't nearly as "clear" as they were here

The Celica was a champion through and through, only once hesitating when I was pulling into the bank to deposit my check with at least a foot of snow at the entrance.

It has been snowing heavily since I got up at about 7am(Central), add to that the 6" we already had will make hell on roads and fun on the trails.

That's a big 10-4 on both accounts, if my dad would have been home from work I would have taken our S-10. Hindsight I probably should have waited the 40minutes and just took it. I've been driving it around today and it's taking the snow like a champ.

Supposedly we are supposed to get 1-3 tomorrow.

Now we're starting to get a little bit of summer weather, warming up to over 30C today, i wouldn't want it too much hotter, but this is okay. :)

Also, looks like we're going to have a nice warm Christmas, predicting 29C :D

I think we were due for three tonight, and at least four tomorrow. Its so "good" that my friends who came over for drinks are staying over. So much fun.

We've got about 10 cm new as of now, and it's still snowing.

High of about 1 tomorrow, with wind gusting to 90 km/h.

And I get to pilot a moving truck, with my stuff in it no less.
Duallys are not good in the snow :nervous:

[Edit - I think I'll spring for some better insurance for tomorrow.]

So I thought it was pretty cool having about 5 or so inches on the ground here, but you guys in Michigan really got hammered. Just be glad you guys don't have some pretty huge hills you have to go up and down. I guess most of downtown was closed because the hills were too dangerous. And I guess some of you guys saw the tour bus that almost crashed onto I-5 that was on the news...

It was pretty fun taking the Volvo out for some snow driving fun in the powdery stuff.

Just went for a swim, the water was so warm and it was about 30C today, meant to be this warm all the way up to Christmas, would love to go to the beach on Christmas. :)

30 C? That's a little over the top for me in summer. Wouldn't want to be there now when I'm acclimated to 20 degrees and snowy and windy. Plus, the snow is great fun.

It started snowing earlier today, though it wasn't much. I doubt if it put another half-inch on the ground. Though I will say, thanks to the incredibly low tempuratures, the snow has a feeling similar to pillow stuffing. On the bad side, it's completely useless at making snowballs and snowmans.

That's actually not that hot for summer here, i wouldn't like it any hotter though for Christmas. :nervous:

So I just came inside from clearing the driveway, got about 2" last night. The real kicker is though we have 40mph winds making the windchill -10. I had on every piece of winter clothing I could find and I was still cold. We are supposed to get another inch today two tonight and one tomorrow. This on top of the 11.5" we got the other day and it's making things interesting. I don't have a place to put and more snow. Guess I need to snowblow the lawn.

1.4 degrees outside, with a wind chill of about -20. Supposed to get another 3-5 inches of snow today, too. I haven't been outside yet, and I'm not sure I want to.

Nice and consistent, at least...

We got 7 more inches of snow yesterday, and then freezing rain put a nice crusty ice all over everything :dopey:. Looks like another day of football and video games. Darn :D.

30C today, a noticeable increase from the sub 20's we've been having here in the past fortnight. If I haven't told you already, I hate hot weather. :grumpy:
