Got another email from Play-asia.com. Anyone waiting, like me, for a GT4 racing pack....they expect to ship the remaining outstanding orders early next week.

I got an email saying that the Japanese PS2 was back ordered and would be 1-2 weeks...then 4 hours later i got an email saying it was shipped :)

The guy who emailed me said they were getting sporadic things in from Japan. Things were coming but they didn't know what or how many. You got lucky....:)
 
I had order shipped on the 28th, with the cheapest method (cause I was out of town during the first weekend...). I haven't got it yet. Hoping for tomorrow. Playing Ace Combat 5 in the meantime...
 
just wondering which version you guys are ordering?
on play-asia.com they have a GT4 NTSC-J japanese version for $64 and a normal GT4 NTSC-J for $68

mine was the cheaper one coz they're both basically the same. so i spent the extra on UPS delivery.

not basically the same...they are the same. One is local to mainland asia, the other is importated from Japan.
 
After my lik-sang order arrived yesterday (with the Chinese version), my Play-Asia version was dropped in the mailbox today. :) (shipped on the 28th).

I'm happy I used cheap option, now I got the game for 44 and 47 euro respectively. Only need a chip now though ...

"thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com

I am sorry to hear about the delay. I must admit that the lead time is
higher than an average shipping time. However we have also seen lots of
cases where airmail shipments take around 3 to 5 weeks. In your case we'd
still recommend you to wait a little bit longer. There's a good chance
that the parcel turns up within the next couple of days.

If you have any further question, please do not hesitate to ask.

I have ordered the game saturday and it was sended monday. I live in Germany and it is sended per air economy box they told me that it will take 7-15 days. Do you think it will arrive tomorrow ?
 
I ordered a racing bundle on the 27th, and still was waiting for it to ship. I sent them an email last night to see what the hold up was. I recieved a response about an hour or so later, stating that they were having supply difficulties and had no idea when they would get some more in. They also gave me the option of switching my order from the Racing Pack to a regular PS2 and a solo copy of GT4 at the same price that I paid for the Racing Pack. I took the offer and ran so to speak, so I'll see how that goes. Hopefully I'll get some kind of email back before the weekend telling me if the change went through. But it's still gonna be next week at the earliest before I get my copy.

I figure that might be of use to one of you.

I'd still recommend Play-Asia for all import needs, as they've always treated me well. This is the first game there's been a hold up on, and being in the video game retail business myself, I know how scarce PS2's are.

Well I Pre-Ordered my copy on the 20 December... ... ... 2003??? and it didn't get here 'till Tuesday 1 year and 15 days later???

I Pre-Ordered two copies all that time ago knowing it would be a few months 'till it came out, but I didn't expect a whole year and 8 days.

But it shipped on the 28th Dec, as I said one copy got here to the UK on the 4th, but the other seemed to go through customs and took 3 days more.

The only time I have had a problem with any of the Asian companies, (Lik-Sang), it wasn't a problem with their side of things, it was the British post, and they still sent me another copy of the game no questions asked. I have ordered maybe a dozen things from Play-Asia and I'm always pleased with the speed of delivery, I wish a lot of UK companies were more like them?

well everyone,I FINALLY got my copy in the mail today with my GT4 Exclusive memory card XD! I've been playing it for a while now and it's reeeeally cool O.O! Well..off to go play some more! *waves* =^.^=!

I got mine on the 30th of Dec. but couldn't play it like many of you, so I bought a (J) PS2 from play-asia & it shipped on the 3rd & I got it on the 4th. I have always gotten everything fast from them.....maybe because I live in California USA. (less over-land travel time).
 
for the guys that bought a pstwo from play-asia.com, i was just wondering if the asia/japan pstwo have a different wall plug (power adapter) then the ones in NA?

Yeah it's an asian/european plug. All I did was get an adapter for $3.00...or you can trim the US PS2 cable & it fits no problem...you'll see when you get one.
 
ummm..actually..just a little scenerio here,but...whenever I have to move my Japanese PS2 to the room furthest in the back of the house to play DDR on my pads,I have to take the cords from my American PS2 to hook it up on the tv in the back,because it doesn't have whole cables thing in the front of the tv,so I have to hook it up from the back of the tv along with using the plug from American PS2 as well o.O. In other words,if I have to move my Japanese PS2 to the back room,the television back there doesn't support the av cables or whatever they are,so I have to use all the wiring from my American PS2,and I didn't have to trim anything,sooo..*shrugs* I don't know,just thought I'd point that out ._.

For anyone who lives Close to Califorinia, theres a Lil Japanese game place in the City of San Gabriel right off the 10Frwy that have Japanese PS/2's and GT4 right on the shelf! the phone Number there is:

I'll have to look that store up some day.
The trimming of the cord I was talking about is because the US PS2 I have (one of the first) has a flat side & round side to the part that plugs into the back of the PS2 & the cord that plugs into the power adapter for the (J) PS2 is double rounded (no flat side) so I had to trim the flat side so it's round to fit the power adapter. Today I bought an adapter to use the original cord that came with the (J) PS2.......or I could just cut off the end & put a US plug end on, but I want to keep the cord original.

Me and a friend are gonna get a PSP from them too, so hopefully those are a tad easier to come by now. Working at a game store is awsome, but boy, it makes you want everything new that comes out.
