Thanks Sick, very kind of you. Glad you liked the Stevens feature, he was a pleasure to interview – great character and doesn't hold back!
And I wasn't aware of Petit Petaud, thanks for the tip.

I can usually get press passes for myself to classic events but have to pay for my WAG (note: singular!). We're covering the Revival in the December issue of Classic Cars – it fell slightly too late to go into the November issue but I do have a Mazda RX-3 road test feature in there. That should be in shops next weds.

@Harsk100 You can get a digital edition so no excuses :sly:

Round 2 Long Beach

BMW vs Escort

BMW vs Ford LongBeach.jpg

Bugatti circuit aboard the Ford, stopping the clock at 1:55.6

It’s a track a bit too big for the Ford and feels like the BMW will be more at home here. The BMW is faster on a straight line and should be more planted than the Ford. So anyone driving the BMW can take this as a sensible guidance and be braver!

PS: I changed gear at 7.5k rpm to not to hurt @IfAndOr sensibility.

And they can see where they're going.

I am tempted to step down the car, walk to the front and take the electrical tape off the headlight! That and adjust the height of the beam.

It’s pitch black in some areas of the track, although this is not an issue as most corners are well-lit.

However, I recommend practising during daylight hours, to get better lines. It can be difficult to get the right lines during night hours with the Ford.

I would love to hear some more feedback of my videos. What you do differently, how do I approach an specific corner or simply say how bad I am!

That sounds quite sweet. Nicely balanced.

take the electrical tape off the headlight!
I think they've used extra wide packaging tape.

Actually it's strange because the lights will illuminate some areas and not others. Unfortunately those others include the shadows. I noticed at Long Beach the bright lights of a following BMW would cast a shadow in front of the Escort!

simply say how bad I am!
Yeah you're rubbish. I wish I was that bad. ;)

I’ve seen bigger phone screens! How do you manage?

Lol, just got use to it my other screen broke ages ago and never got around to replacing for a few years never botherd me, but I'm finally getting around to getting the mega sized 22inch back in this weekend :).

Long story short anything bigger than a 22 inch doesn't fit in my Harry potter cupboard under the stairs :).

This series had all the ingredients to be a superb one but the disconnect issues really ruined the fun for a lot of people... I was fortunate to stay in the lobby, but raced alone for quite a bit.

Today I had some close racing with @JockeP22 and @hasslemoff in the early part of the race, wich was good fun. On the 2nd half of the replay, I really enjoyed watching your scuffle If, BB, Harsk and John.

A great shame about the DCs. It's said you should regard a DC has a mechanical failure so you should have a stern word with your mechanics. The swearing might help.

Throughout most of the 30 minutes there was a great 4 way battle at the back between myself, @Harsk100, @beachboy6658 and @John Wells. Lot's of position swapping. I might just watch that again. :)
Thanks Paul! It was a lot of pressure for the 6th place. I tried to take 5th from @AndreasR, but because most of slow down warnings had been handed up to me, then I was forced to slow down to avoid penalty and after that, Andreas was gone...

Well, on last lap was epic, as I tried to take 6th from you, but when you crossed the finish line, it was too late...

Anyways, was a great battle and I haven't enjoyed that for a while until yesterday.

Great win Tavilha!

I actually saw the disconnections of Lancer Evo and DD8UK, but I was lucky on not getting Disconnected, so that way, I managed to finish the race.

It really was epic battle, for the whole race, made couple mistakes, near the end. Still manged to keep with Beach, Harsk If pulled away. BMW likes loose settings, just wants too be thrown around. There wasn't much in it for all fastest laps.:D

What happened to Andreas at the start?

Posted by @IfAndOr Yes definitely @Sutsagrd - I think everyone would like to see you racing with us again! We have some vacant spaces in the Monday series - I don't know if that would suit you?

The Wednesday series is currently full, but you could be a Reserve Driver - there would normally be a slot available due to absence.

Let me know if you are interested and available!

Quite simple: I waited for @lancerevoo to pass me (I couldn´t see him because of blind spot) but he didn´t come. That happened at the start.:D:D

That was lucky for me! I just managed to stay ahead because my car was faster. When the pressure got too much I had a bad lap (or three) and you were getting close, but when I got my concentration back I was able to increase the gap, but the whole time I was scared that you would pass and then the others who I could see on the map behind you. I was very pleased to get the 4th - I know it would really have been 6th, without the disconnections, but it was good to finish ahead of several better drivers!

I am really looking forward to the two new series and am enjoying planning out 2019 - just wish there was some more DLC coming!

I am wondering what time of day we use for 'dawn'...trying to replicate race conditions at Bannoch, using current date an have tried 5:00am and 6:00 as well. The 908 of course has no headlights, and found it pretty dark on much of the track at 5:00, and still fairly dark in many places at 6:00. AI had no issues with Dark areas and roundly beat up on me set on 90 (I can normally bear them at that setting.) Anyway, just wondering how it tested out for you Sick...maybe you used a different time of year setting so it was a bit lighter? Anybody else tried it yet?
I tried the 5X setting by the way, and didn't make much diff...
Thanks for 'listening' guys...

@Sutsagrd I know you play a bit of Pcars. If you fancy a go sometime I expect Sick would be glad to see you as well.
yes definitely @Sutsagrd - I think everyone would like to see you racing with us again!

Thanks for the invite Paul and Sick.

Unfortunately I’m only occasionally free on a Monday and I can’t race Wednesday or Friday anymore.
More to the point, I’m really rubbish at PCars2 and I think I’d be a liability more so than in GTS!! And I can’t use interior view ... at all!!
So thanks but I think I’d better stick to GTS online racing for now.

However if you’re ever having a friendly non championship race @Sick Cylinder then give me a heads up and I can have a try out to see how I fare!?

Well, not happy with Ford reliability then! Two mechanical failures out of three races.

Let’s see if the German engineering behind the Porsche is better!
