We watched an episode of America's Test Kitchen yesterday and they had some reviews of ice cream makers. Based on the comments of what they liked and didn't like, I pulled out my ice cream maker to see how it compared. Surprisingly, it did fairly well but both kids 1) had no idea we owned an ice cream maker and 2) HAD to make a batch of ice cream.

Their first batch, plain vanilla.

Four ingredients - milk, sugar, heavy cream and vanilla and it tastes absolutely divine.

This is supposed to be a gyro sandwich. It is from a place called Sam's Gyros in Louisville.

It was so fat with meat, I had to eat half of it with a fork.

It was really good, and it was only $5.99.

One of the places I eat gyros at, I order an extra pita to make a second sandwich.

Trying this stuff out. I've already tried the carbonated variant, which was 'meh'.

Unfortunately this isn't much better. At first it tasted like peach, as expected. Then it tasted like the antioxidants, which I didn't expect and almost threw up.

I've been buying and trying their various products. Then I came to the realization that it all tastes too fake, and I prefer flavored Perrier water. I think part of it has to do with the Stevia in the drinks.

I just downed a platter of giant slow cooked BBQ pork ribs, and no lie, the ribs alone filled me up, I didn't touch the wedges or salad!

They were the good ribs too, fall apart, melt in your mouth, sticky sauce... Mmmmm mmmm mmmm! It's a good thing I got a fast metabolism! :sly:

Just finished half a pizza.

Too bad @TB you weren't here or you could have enjoyed an organic American pizza with 4 different cheeses, exported to Europe. :D

Toast with some Nutella. I haven't bought Nutella in awhile as it's not exactly cheap, but someone keeps mentioning it so I started craving it. At least I don't have to hide it like some people.:P

I've never made a cheesecake in my life until a couple of weeks ago. This is my second attempt, this time with cherries. I'm trying to keep my protein intake up to fuel my workouts so this is a protein cheesecake. Tastes good to me. Half cream cheese, half greek yogurt. Sweetened with only 1 tbsp of maple syrup it has only 14g of sugar per slice, mostly from the cherries. Supposed to slice it into 6 but I slice into quarters for a shade under 400 cals/slice, 30 grams of protein.

Gosh,I hope that you being a Canadian that that was REAL maple syrup. None of that Aunt Jamima corn syrup crap.
My brother has around 1200 taps in his maples. Sweet nectar of the gods. Nothing compares.
That cheese cake looks really really good.

Real maple syrup and nothing else:cheers:. Maple syrup and honey are two of the greatest gifts mother nature has to offer:tup:👍. I try to avoid heavily processed or man made concoctions at all costs. It's not as sweet as a traditional cheesecake I suppose but I don't have much of a sweet tooth anymore so it's perfect for me.

Wasabi KitKat, that a dear friend brought me from Japan.

I don't know how, but it works and it's delicious.

Inside, it's like a normal KitKat. The outside is white chocolate with a genuine, strong wasabi flavour. Strangely, it doesn't "heat" and it simply adds to the sweetness.

If anything, I'd like to try it with normal chocolate instead of white.

I've seen them here in 7/11 but always assumed it would have the wasabi kick so never tried it. Might be tempted to now.

I had no idea 7/11 operated Thailand.
I remember reading a few years ago that Thailand had as much 7-Eleven stores as the whole US.

My search at the time was exactly because I came across lots of 7-Eleven stores in my visit to some Southeast Asia countries. They're very strong there in general.

Surely it's worth a try. 👍

You have no idea. They are literally every 200m in urban areas. Several lodgings ago I lived in a university part of town and I had 7 7/11s within 1km radius, 4 of those were within 500m. They're so convenient that I'd estimate more than half of my purchases are from a 7; cigs, beer, cereal, milk, bread, pop, etc. I expect it's the same for most people here, 7/11 is brilliant.

I see. There's only a few in my area, mainly due to competition. Other than the Big Gulp and their flavors of Slurpee, it's nothing special here. Do you they all sell petrol as well or are they more like corner stores over there?

They're teamed up with one of the major petrol companies here so at most stations they have a sizeable 7/11, but I don't think they operate the fuel business themselves.
